This is our third pool by Robertson Pools. I have to say each and every experience went well and they delivered a beautiful, high quality pool without any hassles, unusual delays or issues. I am a very satisfied customer and have recommended Robertson Pools to many folks. When looking at companies remember to consider the longevity in the business. Robertson Pools has staying power. \r \r Happy pool owner more

What a great company to hire! We shopped several pool builders before settling on Robertson. All the staff from the top down are friendly, professional, and courteous. They have built a pool in my yard that meets or exceeds all the specifications, and even refined some details I had missed to make it just right. The pool construction took slightly less time than they stated. The workers arrive and really get down to business- no loafing around on the job. The on-site workers, the project manager, the sales guy, and even the top brass himself were all in contact all the time and addressed any questions we had very promptly in the whole process. Even initially the salesman was very focused on helping us design our pool, almost not trying to sell us one in a way (no pressure or baiting).\r \r My wife and I are particular about customer service, and we definately get it from Robertson Pools. I will recommend them to anyone/everyone. more

They break more than they repair. Tried their service few times and results remained the same. If I called them to fix a pipe leak, they broke something else so they can charge more money to fix it.\r \r last drip was when I (wish I knew) had them resurface the pool. they dumped all sewage into backyard instead of sewer and killed lots of grass and bushes.\r \r finally they broke the backwash valve gasket and said that it may happen when pool is resurfaced and sand gets into system.\r \r That company will N E V E R get into my yard again, ever. more

The best pool in the neighborhood 12/9/2011

My wife and I looked around for a while before deciding on Robertson Pools to build our pool. We are happy with the decision we made. I looked at reviews for every company we got a bid from and no one had stellar reviews...I guess because bad news spreads faster than good in this fast paced world. In the end we chose Robertson because they are family owned and operated (Mr. Robertson came out to my yard at least 3 times during construction) and have been in business for 26 years. Our designer, Brad, was knowledgeable and we liked that the company uses mostly their own in-house construction crews rather than subcontractors (we had heard horror stories about companies going out of business during construction and subcontractors going after the homeowner for the money). Our pool is beautiful and the workmanship by the masons was amazing (I watched them build our waterfall and it really is artwork). We had an issue with our pump a few months after our pool was completed and the service department came out promptly and fixed it under warranty. I get my water tested and pool supplies at their Coppell retail store and they have been great helping me maintain my pool. We are saving up now to build an outdoor living area in the future and I will definitely get a bid from Robertson. more

Poor workmanship and lacking response 10/26/2011

I had asked friends about pool companies as they had pools built some time ago. Robertson was referred to me as the best the knew. I'm sure if they had their pool built by them now, they would say no way. Constant issues and trying to get the owner to respond is ridiculous. We've had enough frustration. Going make a complaint with BBB. Don't put yourself through what we've been through. more

Too many issues 10/5/2011

If you are considering having Robertson build a pool for you, I strongly suggest you read all of this. This is our second pool by Robertson. Built in Nov 2007, it is the same pool I designed for our Southlake home with a Spa added. Back in '94 their salesman was so proud of their work he brought a complete list of everyone the had done pools for and asked us to pick out any of them to call. We called three and got rave reviews. Somewhere between our first pool in 1994 and 2007 they went from great to worse. From 2007 to 2011 we've had five main issues.. One is the original stone coping mortor wasn't correct and they had to relay it three times within the first two years. Second was the Spa Heater kept failing TWICE a year. Even their tech who come out to repair it each time said he had never had a heater fail so often. He normally got 4-5 calls a year for different heaters. After 4 years they had the Zodiac manufacture Tech Supervisor come out to fix it the last time. I asked him to extend the warranty due to all the failures. He said no as Robertson installed it in the wrong location because should be a rain run off guard on our roof above it as it is not water sealed enough to handle water fall run off. It's actually required by Zodiac for warranty. Robertson claimed it was our responsibility! What? They installed it. Fortunately we convinced them to extend the warranty another year, as Zodiac said it was their fault. However, I had to pay someone $200 to install the rain guard. The third is the the mortor again this year. It was cracking all around. I took 44 up close pictures to convince them it was a problem. Fourth is the pool pump. It quite after 4 years. The first pool's pump laster 10 years. When I took this one to their store to have it repair, I was told the pump may not be big enough. The fifth and final straw is the crack in my driveway. They had to auger underneath it to connect to the city water drain system. It was cracked in their process. We witnessed it and the foreman said the crack wasn't big enough to repair at the time. However, he promised to repair it when the crack was a third to half inch wide. He took pictures and said they would be in our file. Once the cracks got big enough we could call and they would repair it. We thought Robertson would live up to their promise, to repair the driveway, but they have chosen not to. First by their not so pleasant on the phone construction manager and finally on the phone with Mr Ron Robertson, the owner. I couldn't get a word in, he just said "" if this is about the driveway, it isn't going to happen. Read your contract about access and driveways"". I tried to tell him about his foreman's commitment and he accused me of lying. I was in disbelief. As I was trying to explain the circumstance he just kept interrupting me. At one point he challenged me to bring it on, his lawyers will love the challenge. To clarify the access is meant to gain access yo your back yard and that they will not be responsible for and damages. They did tear up my lawn and sprinkler system with heavy equipment and while digging, which I paid to have fixed. The problem is they did NOT use my driveway for access because a tree was in the way! We love having a pool and spa. We do appreciate their initial responses. However, based on all we have gone through with this pool's construction and Robertson's responses this past year, I highly recommend you stay away. So much for their voicemail advertising ""Lasting Relationship with you family"". I sure isn't last with us. more

It's a messy process, but worth the wait 8/19/2011

Our salesman told us this would be a timely project, with a messy backyard. He also said we would get mad at first, then be happy when they were finished. Well, ALL of that came true. I guess you have to expect some mess when big machines come to dig up your yard, crews coming and going for weeks, the heat is unbearable and we just want our pool finished. Finally, it happened...it was finished. We wanted to jump in while it was filling but were told it would ruin the plaster. Oh no, what's another day. So after all that and the final instructions, we finally took our first dip. What a beautiful creation this pool is. Not just the pool, but the waterfall and the grill area. Who knew cooking outside was the next greatest thing. It will be great in the fall for sure. For now, all of our neighbors have become such good friends. It's great. We are so proud and happy with our Robertson Pool. It was worth the wait and mess. Thanks to all the guys who braved the heat for so many weeks. more

I love my pool! 8/8/2011

While I can't comment on what it will be like in 3-5 years as the other reviews have, as of now: Our pool was just completed by Robertson and I couldn?t be happier! The process ? as with any large construction project ? took a bit longer than expected and hit a few bumps in the road, but it was so worth the end result! The sales and design team were awesome to work with. And the design was above and beyond the proposals we?d received from 5 other pool builders. When I did have some issues with the construction process/timing, I reached out to the President and CEO, Ron Robertson, and he stepped up and made sure all of my concerns were remedied quickly thereafter. I was shocked to not only get a reply from the owner of the company (within 20 minutes of sending my email), but to also have him handling the issues himself and calling me 2 times a day with updates. Very impressive! I LOVE my pool!! more

dishonest, lied to me, never will use again 6/17/2011

Had used this company for resurfacing a number of years ago. When I used them for service, they charge a fee up front and when I had them come back to follow up for same issue, they wouldn't come unless we paid the fee again. Then when I reported to BBB, they came out and claimed the problem was not what they worked on but something else. I tried to speak with owner, Mr Robertson, he would never get on the phone. I got so upset I had another company come- they fixed the issue right away and it was clear Robertson gave us the run around. I would never use them again nor recommend them. Run- there are too many reputable pool companies around more

Roberton Pools is dishonest 6/15/2011

We spent over $70,000 dollars to have a pool built in 2007. It's now 3 1/2 years since the pool was built and we have major structural issues with the pool in addition to electrical issues, failed lighting, etc. I've contacted them repeatedly and they say the repairs will cost us yet our contract clkearly states we have a lifetime warranty on the structure of your pool. I'm going to let the BBB and courts iron this mess out.\r \r Roberston pools builds a terrible product and is dishonest. That sums up our experience with them as succinctly as possible. more

Contact them if you want to wait months for your pool 6/3/2011

I would give them 0 stars if it was an option. They did a pool remodel (patio, tile, coping an plaster) and took 3 months to do it. Some finishing work remains, but we have not seen anyone from the company for a week. They do not show up when they say the will, and they do not return phone calls. Our pool never leaked, now it is losing water, and we have waited over a week for them to come and check it. Overall the work around the pool looks pretty nice, but I would NEVER EVER use them again or recommend them to anyone, even my worst enemy. more

mixed results, obvious stuff ok, skip the harder problems! 4/10/2011

I've been taking care of my pool for years. It was built by Robertson Pools, and I've been very happy with it. Recently my wife decided to go with Robertson for pool maintenance. Wow, I love that. It's clean, chemicals maintained, etc. They do a fantastic job at that. So, I decided to use Robertson to repair my pool (like I said, I've been fixing it for years, this is kind of a luxury)! I asked them to fix my skimmer (I have two, and one wasn't working). The repairman that came out said in fact it was working, and I needed a flapper in front of it (a door). Well, that fixed it! So, moved on to a few harder things. The pool heater is shutting off early, and the light need replacing in the spa. He replaced the light, but said that the receptacle was broken and he couldn't put it back. Hmmm...now I have a loose light in the spa. No problem, I went to the hardware store, got some silicon, and fixed it myself (I really thought that he should have done something). Finally, the heater. This is the second time I've asked Robertson Pools to come out and fix it. The repairman didn't examine it. Just said 'you either need a new heat exchanger or a new thermostat'. Dang, this guy is psychic! Oh well, I knew it was to good to be true. My neighbor and I checked it out, there are a couple of high limit temp switches connected to the manifold which fatigue over time. Granted, replacing the heat exchanger would have fixed that, but, it would have cost 40 times more. I am disappointed with the skills the repairman exhibited. Maybe they simply don't stock parts, so diagnosing the problem would be impossible. Unfortunately, this is the way things are going. There isn't anybody left that can fix things at the component level. I'd recommend Robertson for the easy stuff. more

Excellent Customer Service! 12/30/2010

Robertson Pools, Inc. built my pool in 2004. The construction process was very smooth and communcation was excellent thanks to Anita Calicchio. We had many questions during the process and she was very patient in answering them and getting the job done. We have had very few problems with our equipment since the pool was built.\r \r Robertson has done all of our maintenance work and has kept everything running smoothly. I recently had a problem with keeping my water chemistry balanced and Al Griffin came out to address my concerns. He was very informative and helpful. He took the time to teach me what I was doing wrong and how to fix it. My pool water has never been so sparkly!\r \r If you're looking for a company to alleviate the worries of owning and pool so that you can enjoy it, Robertson Pools is the company to choose! more

Robertson Pools- Don't waste your money! 7/31/2010

We interviewed several companies before selecting Robertson pool of Coppell to build our pool. With so many choices, we regret our decision to go with Roberton pools. What we thought was a good reason to select this company was the worst possible. We opted for them because they used all their own employees rather than contractors. Thinking this would help ensure quality turned out to be totally wrong. Instead, it made it so they had no responsiblity for their mistakes as that would effect their personal bottom line. If you use a company that contracts, the contracted individuals want to fix problems or risk no further business from the pool company. But when the bottom line is their own, there are many excuses, broken promises and cuts to quality made.\r \r The experience was a nightmare. We opted to build in January to avoid the rush pool companies have in Spring to finish by summer. Good thing we started early because our pool took 7 months to complete! This was not due to weather but to the many repeated things that had to be done, such as replastering 3 times. The first time, they run out of plaster half way through so spread it so thin, the pool cracked all over. Then they covered all the mosaics in plaster! Then they installed different color tile then the side walls from the stairs! Their correction was to cut the tiles out with a saw and put in new right color ones. This left deep obvious scars in the plaster unevenly around each and every tile! There was no compensation or even an I am sorry to have messed up your pool! Apparently in your contract you need to state that you expect a new pool to not have cut marks, not be plastered so thin to have cracks, and you need to state the condition of a new pool to be built in new looking condition! They said for our trouble they would extend the plaster waranty for 5 years. When they finished ""fixing"" they would not give that in writting! Nothing is worst than anticipating your new beautiful pool but owning a new pool that looks worn and beat up! What a mess! \r \r We built in 2005. By 2006 we had problems with the pump motor that they pieced together. By 2007 we had to replace the pump and motor no longer covered! We were charged full price ....again . By 2010 we had to replace the pump and motor again but also the filter system and the entire salt system! We had to replace everything! The equipment was no longer covered and it did not last it's expected time....with no apologies, help, or anything! \r \r The pool still looks horrible with cuts around the tiles but we did decide when the entire thing needed to be replaced, that we would not just keep going with Robertson. They do not care about their reputation, they care about their bottom line. We are using a new company and their estimate and final work was 12,000 cheaper than Robertson's despite the fact that they are the original company and should have had responsibilty. \r \r Don't waste your money on this profit only company. YOu have way too many choices to make the mistakes we have. \r \r I regret not legally pursuing these issues in 2005. But truthfully, after missing so much work trying to stand over their poor work, feeling exhaused by the entire process and just over the entire ordeal, I did not have any more energy left. I have made sure our friends know and hope to spread the word that others are not victimized by Robertson's the way we were. \r \r Choose well! and good luck!\r \r Cons: incompetent builder more

Update to Robertson Pools review 12/13/2009

Update to review on 12/13: We have been contacted by Robertson Pools and they have offered to correct the issue we have with the flagstone patio and waterfall. I am all for supporting a company that ""makes it right"" In fairness to Robertson Pools the actual pool and deck are beautiful and we are very happy with that part of the job. They have offered to tear the patio out and redo it. We have also heard from several people who are very happy with their Robertson pool and the reason we went with them in the first place is they came very highly recommended - perhaps we just had a break down in communication. Will let you know how it goes! Pros: Offered to Correct issues more

very disappointed 6/3/2009

count on minimum of 3 to 4 months to finish your pool. they are never on schedule. they always don't show up on time. they don't communicate the next step. then when they do, they lie most of the time. the same story over and over. Only good thing is the stone work. other than that, it is a zero. write me if you want facts. Pros: rock work Cons: poor communication, no customer service, extremely slow more

Not the place to have remodel your pool 4/17/2009

Went with them to keep business locally. They have won a lot of awards for LARGE projects, but they really let the little guys down. Completely dissatisfied with many of the people in remodeling (such a turnover during our project) and definitely not satisfied with the end result. I encourage you to look elsewhere. Cons: No customer service; not interested in customer satisfaction more
