RUNDOWN 1/23/2012

Would not recommend. This place has gone downhill. The front desk staff in the 3 Johnston County locations have always either been unfriendly, unprofessional or they hire young kids you haven't been trained properly and don't care. The clubs are rundown, espcecially the one at Riverwood and at $90.00 (the cheapest membership fee) a month per person, I don't understand why they can't keep it up and keep it clean. It even stinks in there. They must really be hurting for money. They don't even have a full time staff person who covers the front desk during operating hours at ANY of the locations. Don't waste your money here. There are better and cheaper places to go where you will feel welcomed and appreciated for spending your hard earned money for a membership. more

Thank you all for your feedback! We are looking elsewhere after reading these reviews and checking things out for myself. Some things I have noticed while surveying the propery was that things were not at all kept up to par. I would be embarassed to live there with all the dead grass and lack of upkeep. I walked around the pond area and the wooden bridge is about falling apart with holes in the walkway! There is trash all over the place as well! The common areas had sod thrown on top of the grass. To top it off, I went into the pool area/ gym just to check it out and some Brutus Beefcake rude. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he WAS manager (Scott?). Anyhow we will be looking elsewhere. I don't care to be around people like that. more

My experience is the same.Living here for 5yrs.love my house but yesterday the gym/pool denied me access. They said my card was inactive, why i dont know maybe because my name ends in a vowel and i dont tawk like them? Michelle didnt have the authority or the knowhow on what to do,i think she just wanted me to leave and accept her answer but when i challenged her she started to cry.Keith the manager didnt like this and i decided to opt out.Meanwhile they took my money every month. They saw that i was the homeowner on the account and that i did pay every month, but didnt want me to have a access card.So many other places around that who needs this abused? more

Don't Get Taken! 5/17/2011

We have had a home in Riverwood for 5 years and we love our house and neighbors, however it pretty much stops there. The Homeowners Association seems to single certain people to enforce the rules with while ignoring their neighbors for the same offenses. The club area and the pool are over-crowded yet they continue to accept memberships from families outside the community. They do very little maintenance around the pool area and things are starting to look pretty shabby. Don't even think about bringing a guest because they will charge you $10-12.00 each even if you just stay an hour. You can buy a 10 visit guest pass but beware - they will rip you off if you don't use all the visits before the end of the season -they will not let you carry them over until the next season. more

Positives outweigh the negatives 12/4/2008

I have lived in riverwood for over two years and have been very pleased overall. The location is great and provides easy access to Raleigh & I-540, Clayton, Knightdale, etc. Yes-it is quite crowded in Riverwood but overall the neighbors are great. I am actually familiar with the family and their firepit but it hasn't been a problem for several months now. The health clup has a wide variety of equipment but the locker rooms are not always kept as clean as they could be. The Pool is also crowded on certain nights during the swim season but the outdoor pool is a great asset during the summer months. more

Riverwood Rocks! 5/8/2008

Riverwood is a great neighborhood to live in especially if you have children! I walk my son to school everyday and love my neighbors. The pool does get crowded during the summer but we have 3 additional pools with our membership that we can go to so if one is crowded we just run down the road. My son also plays t-ball in the neighborhood and my oldest daughter has dance, having activities in the neighborhood has really cut down my ""after school activities"" driving time. Pros: All inclusive package: golf membership, indoor and outdoor pools, walking trails, athletic club membership Cons: Pools are busy in the summer and Athletic Club is packed after Jan. 1 for a few weeks. more

Pool and Athletic Club too crowdy; Horrible subdivision to live in 6/28/2007

Riverwood is not a great place to live and the same goes for the athletic club. The HOA does not enforce the rules and we had to live with some of the worst neighbors. Rowdy and always burning a fire pit, the HOA was not helpful in our quest to alleviate their behavior. Secondly, the athletic club is ALWAYS busy so you can't ever enjoy it so we ended up reliquenshing our rights to go over there even though we lived in the community. STAY AWAY Pros: Big pool area Cons: Too many people! Always pool classes and tournaments in the indoor pool. more
