Best gym in Denver by far 7/3/2011

I am a gym snob. What that means to me is the details matter. What I get at Qi is so above and beyond other gyms I have trained at that there is no contest when I'm deciding where to spend my hard-earned money. First, they have amazing classes. Yoga, spin, yoga-sculpt, body-barre, gymnastics - they offer some great versatility in fun training options. Second, they have 4 locations. This is a winner for me, because I'm not always in the same location day to day, and more locations means more options for choosing classes if I want to make it to a late yoga or spin class. Third, their trainers are friendly, approachable and all have obvious, extensive cohesive training. They're consistent. One of the things that has impressed me the most about the trainers at Qi, in classes and in one-on-one sessions is their attention to form, anatomy and the structural alignment of the body. This is above and beyond most gyms, and is key in preventing injury, especially in bigger classes where many people are working with one instructor. All around, Denver is really fortunate to have Qi as a part of our community. They recently ran an awesome incentive to members, complete 30 classes in 30 days to receive a free month of membership - which I am currently in the middle of accomplishing. Great staff, great facilites, great classes and new equipment - really doesn't get any better. more

Best Staff period 3/6/2008

I am by no means a member of the fitness elite and yet at Qi everyone was incredibly welcoming and there to help me get into shape. The trainers are always happy to help me come up with new moves and routines and the class instructors only want to challenge you and have you succeed. Qi is a place I like to spend time and that makes it a thousand times easier to get in shape. Pros: Staff, atmosphere and great classes more

Incredible Cardio 3/6/2008

My knees have always been a little weak and as I aged running became harder and harder on my joints. I still really enjoy cardio and Qi has these incredible glider machines that mimick the motion of inline skating or cross country skiing. The machine doesn't hurt my knees at all and I still get to work up a sweat with some powerful cardio that's the kind of workout I enjoy. Pros: Great variety of machines and eqipment more

Great for Beginners 3/6/2008

I'm just starting to get into weight training and I love going to the gym with my husband who has been lifting for years. Qi has these incredible Easyline machines that are great at helping me work towards more resistance training. They also have equipment that is challenging enough for my husband to get a good workout as well. Qi really supports people at all levels of fitness and their eqipment shows that. Pros: Great Equipment very user friendly more

No more competing for the gym 3/6/2008

So many gyms end up really crowded with people fighting and pushing for space in classes. Qi is a small neighborhood gym and will eventually limit their membership to keep that feel. The classes never have more than 8 people in them so you really get a workout that's fit for you. Qi is a great gym that has a welcoming feel. Pros: Small neighborhood feel with great resources more

Great Classes 3/6/2008

My main requirement when picking a gym is that they offer classes I can get in to and dedicate myself to. Qi has a great offering of free classes including boot camp and the best ab class I've ever been to. For a small fee yoga and Kinesis classes are offered which are also great and challenging. I love being able to mix and match my workout routines without it being my effort. Qi is perfect for the way I work out and their classes really utilize the diverse eqipment they have in the gym. Pros: Incredible classes and a ton of variety in their equipment more

Ready for my marathon 3/6/2008

At age 43 I'm in the best shape of my life thanks in great part to Qi. I went in, met with a trainer and told them I want to run a marathon. I've been training for months and it's getting easier and easier. With encouragement, prodding and a positive attitude, the people at Qi really helped push me when I was content to let go of my dream. Pros: Small class sizes, great instructors, boot camp more

Best Gym In Denver 3/6/2008

Qi is an incredible gym experience. I've worked out in a ton of different places and it's always just been a work out, but Qi is somewhere I really like to spend my time and money. The trainers are friendly, it's centrally located, the equipment is state of the art, the classes are great and challenging and the atmosphere is unlike any gym I've ever been to. I recommend Qi to everyone I know, especially those lukewarm to the gym/fitness world. Pros: great atmosphere and encouraging staff more

Workout every way 3/3/2008

I've tried every workout there is and am always looking for some new way to challenge myself physically. Qi has the resources to keep me excited about my fitness. They offer bootcamps that push me to my limit and their Kinesis class works muscles I never knew I had. The trainers at Qi are always there to talk shop with me and help me brainstorm new ways to push it. The atmosphere of the gym focuses on fitness not competetion and that's a great way to get fit. Pros: great classes and trainers more

Excercise and Advice 3/3/2008

What sets Qi apart is that I can ask them anything about fitness and they'll have the answer or find the answer and won't make me feel bad for needing to ask it. Some one is always there to help me if I need help with a machine, diet suggestions or best trail rides on my bike. Qi is truly a community and it's that feeling that makes me want to go to the gym, no matter how tired I am. Pros: Staff that cares and helps more

Easy Line to get back into shape 3/3/2008

I had let my fitness slip alot in the past few years, focusing on my job, family, etc. but Qi made it really easy for me to get back into shape. I weened myself back onto weights by using their incredible Easyline machines and then graduated to the weight machines a month or two later. The trainers were always there to encourage me and push me when I needed it. The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful artwork made it somewhere I wanted to spend time so going to the gym is no longer a chore for me. Pros: Friendly staff and great atmosphere Cons: sometimes hard to park more

A new kind of workout 3/3/2008

I've spent alot of time doing the same workout, just going through the motions, but when I joined Qi I really started working out and improving my fitness. The trainers are always happy to give me tips when I want something new to try and the variety of classes allow me to challenge myself in new ways whether it be with Boot Camp or Kinesis. Pros: Lots of variety in classes and equipment more

Great neighborhood gym 3/3/2008

I've never been a huge gym fan, born and bred in Colorado I've always tended to prefer the outdoor workout. However, these freezing, snowy winters have been really taking a toll on my fitness level. I went into Qi and immediately it was different. There's a huge fountain acting as a wall in the yoga stuido, there's art all over and the unpretentiousness was incredible. The desk staff knows my name and the trainers are always happy to help me come up with some new workout to challenge myself. I'm hooked on Qi and I'll keep going even when summer lets me be outside again. Pros: great feeling, tons of resources to change your workout and stay motivated Cons: only one shower and no hot tub/sauna/steam room more

Incredible for cyclists 3/3/2008

I'm a serious cyclist and these recent Denver winters have been rough on my need for the road. My favorite thing about Qi are their Expresso Bikes. I can shift, pick from tons of different courses and race against my ghost to make sure I'm not losing time in the cold. Each week Qi picks a course for the members to race on and post their best time, it gives it a great community feeling as well as a little more motivation for me. Expresso and Qi kept me sane and in shape throughout the winter. more

Kinesis In Denver!! 3/3/2008

I love that Qi is the first gym to offer Kinesis in Denver. I used to drive up to Boulder once a week for an hour long class, and much as I loved it, it got old fast. Now I walk three blocks from my front door to Qi for classes as often as I'm up to them for an incredible weekend that is always challenging and always new. more

Best Gym anywhere 3/2/2008

I am a few weeks shy of my 66th birthday, and thanks to Qi, I am probably in the best shape of my life. I have lost over 30 pounds and have gained a whole new sense of pride in what I can do physically. The atmosphere at Qi is welcoming and the trainers and staff are friendly and non-intimidating. They have encouraged me, prodded me and praised me for what I can do and have kept me motivated to achieve more. I have ?worked out? at other gyms but always felt like an outsider in the fitness world ?Qi has taught me that everyone deserves to be healthy and energized and feel good about themselves. Hooray for Qi and thank you more

Real Groovy 2/27/2008

Oh man, this place doesn't even look like a gym. There is art on the walls, plants in the rooms, and good music to jam to. Yet they are totally stocked with great machines and free weights for working out. I'm not really a gym person but this place is so comfortable that I like going. And the Kinesis classes are so fun, totally getting me in shape for skiing. Pros: Atmosphere and classes more

A staff that Cares 2/27/2008

I have exercised at and worked for several athletic clubs. This place really has it figured out. They are not huge like other places where you can get lost in the shuffle. Instead, the desk staff knows my name and have helped me with exercise ideas more than once. They have all the standard equipment plus some really different things called Kinesis and Easyline. My favorite though are the Virtual Reality bicycles. Also, I do one of their group classes each week and am signed up to start personal training this week. So excited I found this place! Pros: Service, class size, equipment Cons: No pool or hot tub more

Great Gym on Colfax 2/25/2008

This place has the perfect location. I joined last week and I love it! They have yoga classes as well as the main gym. more
