Excellent Service 2/15/2010

PugetPets provides professional services. When I travel, I never need to worry if my pets are being cared for. They go beyond expectations and pamper our cats. I think they are sad when we come home! Pros: They really really care about pets more

A fabulous service for all pet families 1/4/2010

Ruth and her staff have consistently proven to be reliable, professional and truly concerned for my furkids and their well being. I have often put off travel in the past as finding a pet sitter that my husband and I could trust to take the same level of care that we do with our fur kids has been a stress for us. Now we have found Puget Pets and that stress has been relieved. I am so thankful that Ruth has dedicated herself to this service and as a dog trainer in Seattle I highly recommend her and the staff whom I have met. I believe that she holds high standards for her company, herself and her staff and it shows when I have nice and relaxed and calm (not showing any signs of stress) pups upon our return home. Thank you Ruth and the Puget Pets staff! Pros: Great staff more

Love this service!! 10/10/2009

Love this service!! Professional, reliable, flexible, obviously love animals, and most importantly...our animals love them. We return home to find a house full of canine smiles. Wonderful service - you'll be sending them thank you cards for years to come! Pros: Reliable, professional, & our pets love them!!! more

Terrific Pet-Sitters 8/17/2009

My pet-sitter left a very detailed report while caring for my two cats that I enjoyed reading and the cats both seemed that they got lots of attention and playtime. The litterbox was cleaned, cats had food/water, mail brought in, and plants watered. I am extremely pleased with my service, knowing I can have a relaxing vacation because my pets are well cared-for, and have already submitted a request for their services for my next vacation. Pros: Did a great job caring for my pets and other misc items more

Love this company! 2/4/2009

Love this company. Absolutely love them. Discovered them late last year when we needed help with our crew over Christmas. See, we?re a blended family. That?s right: my two cats and my fiance?s cat and two dogs all started living together in early November. Whew--not an easy transition. Right now, we have kind of complex arrangements for what pets are where, how they get fed?the kind of thing you don?t want to trust to just anyone. Ruth did an amazing job at the meeting of ?getting it? about the details of the arrangements, plus the idea behind what we were doing. Our sitter was actually an animal trainer finishing up her certifications, and had a couple of great thoughts about how we could make things work even more smoothly for the crew and for us. And heroic?I mean heroic, about not missing a visit over Christmas despite all the weather, snow, ice, etc. Of course we used them again when we headed out for the weekend just the other weekend. A great job again. The sitter is getting to know our crew, and I can tell they?re gaga over her. It is an incredible relief to know that our crazy crew is in such good hands when we?re gone. more

Amazing dog walkers! 12/12/2008

When my wife went back to work full time recently, we realized we'd need a mid-day walk for Tango, our Akita mix. Challenge was that Tango is picky--and so are we. He's two years old, strong, and can sometimes go nuts on the leash when he sees a squirrel. We wanted to know he'd be walked by someone who could handle him, but not be hard on him. Found PugetPets from the reviews here and from their winning that DictyDog Contest for Seattle's best dog walkers. What we liked best is that as part of the get-to-know-you-meeting THEY brought up the idea of us all to going on a walk with Tango, so they'd get the best sense for him. I was impressed. And better yet, they got it as to what I wanted for Tango. The walker was firm with him and still very kind. It's hard to describe, but it worked perfectly for Tango. They've been walking him for three weeks now and things are great. We get updates every day, and Tango is relaxed and not crazy with wanting to go out immediately when we get home. PugetPets was a great decision for Tango and for us. Pros: excellent process for getting to know our dog more

Outstanding pet care! 9/14/2008

After well meaning friends turned out to be less than reliable about caring for our kittles Shadow and Snow during my husbands and weekend away in the spring, we vowed to use professional the next time. Our kitties are our kids, so we did a lot of research. PugetPets came with top recommendations, and we contacted them. We've used them four times now and they have been great every time. They came out to meet us and asked questions about things I'd never have thought to tell them--like where we keep the cat carriers in case the one of the kitties got sick and had to go to the vet. Now that is thorough! Our sitter was a certified vet tech, and left us a detailed AND funny report to read when we got back. And we love their booking system: just go to their website, log in, fill out a request for service and it's all set up! We can even pay with our credit card. And then there are all the added little things I haven't even mentioned here that make the care so good. It is such a relief to be out of the ""I hope the kitties were fed"" feeling we had with our friends and into the relief of these caring professionals. Thank you PugetPets! Pros: The pros are that these people are pros--professionals! more

rated seattle's best dog walkers--for a reason 4/17/2008

Now I get it as to why CityDog Magazine rated these guys Seattle's best dog walkers. We (my Husky Selma and I) have been mid-day dog walk clients for almost three months now. Service has been the best. Long, fast walks that tire Selm out (not easy to do!). Great daily written reports. Available when I've needed to add a last minute evening walk because of work meetings. And easy pay via their website with credit card. Professional, clear invoices. Not to mention great prices. They've got it all. Pros: rated seattle's best dog walkers--for a reason more

Dependable, capable available, even for long, last-minute trips! 4/8/2008

We've been using this terrific company for six months now, ever since we moved here--and I know we must be challenging to work with! My husband and I both travel--a lot--for work. And--sadly--usually at the last minute. We have two kitties who are the light of our life, and there is no way we would leave our darlings in the hands of well-meaning but inexperienced friends or relatives. We were so impressed from the get-go with the professionalism and ""kitty love"" combo of Ruth and her staff. We thought we'd have to settle for a different sitter each time, what with our last minute requests and all--but Ruth set it up so that we have always had one of two sitters that the kitties have gotten to know and to clearly love. We are always so impressed with how calm and happy they are when we return. No ignoring, us, mad that we were away. No drama during the trips. Working withPugetPets is better than we ever could have hoped for from a pet sitter. Pros: Dependable, experienced, available even last minute Cons: Not a single one more

Great care. Reliable. Came through last minute two different times. 10/31/2007

Wow! Impressive! We moved here from Texas three months ago. Now we go out of town at least once a month. Our kitties and our dog loved our pet sitter back in TX. My husband and I did too. She was great with the all three of them. She was usually available. Easy to work with. 100% reliable. What more could you ask? Ha! We found PugetPets through my husbands co-worker. I discovered what more we could get! Great with the pets. Reliable. Easy to work with--everything we had before. And now we also have: easier scheduling with their online system, easy pay by credit card, and when we had a last minute request for Thurs-Mon service (we asked on WEDNESDAY), PugetPets said ""sure!"" They had a weekday and a weekend sitter team up to make the visits. We love it that they have last minute 7 days a week coverage but don't overwork their people. Great system. Great care. We are so happy we found them! Pros: Great Care. Reliable. My dog and kitties love them. 7 days per week coverage even last minute more

Puget Pets is the best around! 8/3/2007

It's my one year anniversary as a dog walk client of Puget Pets and what better way to celebrate than letting everyone know how great it'sbeen! Ruth started working with Roxy when she was only 12 weeks old, when I look back at the pictures of how small she was, it's hard to believe! Today, Roxy is growing up to be a spunky, happy and incredibly well mannered girl. I owe a lot of that to Ruth. For the first six months, she visited Roxy twice a day and was a terrific and calming influence on her. And I appreciated how Ruth encouraged me to let her know what I was working on with Roxy in her obedience training, so Ruth could support that during their time together. I love, love the updates I get every day from Ruth?they help me feel like I'm really connected to my girl even though I?m not there. In the course of this year, I've recommended Puget Pets to three of my friends?one with a puppy and two with older dogs?and they?ve all had similar great experiences. I?m thrilled with the service and plan to have Ruth in Roxy's and my life for a long, long time! Pros: Attentive, loving, professional. The best! more

Went above and beyond 7/14/2007

Now this falls into the category of ""above and beyond."" We?d had a pet sitter we?d used for years for our two Malamutes?our ""kids."" But her own dog became ill this spring, and she wound up having to cancel on us last minute. I hated to do it, but I had to look into another pet sitter. I found PugetPets, and just loved them from the first. Our PugetPets pet sitter Tim was a natural with our boys. He knew tons about dogs in general, and also knew a lot about this breed., which needs some very special care. We?ve been using PugetPets since March. Now here is the above and beyond part. Early in the year, we?d arranged for our original pet sitter to take care of our kids while we were away on our two-week July vacation. We talked to her in May about canceling with her (since we?d been using PugetPets for two months, and loved them) but she got pretty upset. She?s kind of a friend, she needed the $$ and we felt bad, so we told her we?d stick with her for the vacation. It turned out that her dog got a little worse, and that there was a chance he?d have to have some procedures while we were gone?and if so, she wouldn?t be able to take care our kids. I called PugetPets and they agreed to be our BACKUP pet sitters in this case! How great is that! They understood our relationship with this gal, said they didn?t want to intrude on that, and agreed that if her dog took a turn for the worse, that this gal could call them for backup. They were only sorry to hear that her dog was sick! Needless to say, after we come back from this vacation, it?ll be PugetPets all the way. They are a caring, class act. Pros: went way, way above and beyond to help us out Cons: not a single one! more

Best in town--no doubt 6/17/2007

These guys are the best. Used them over a long, long Memorial Day trip. I have two cats and a dog. All of them?doing great when I came back. Bender?my dog?was happy to see me, but not nuts in that way he has when the care is only so-so. Kitties seemed happy (harder to tell) But the sitter had brushed them. They love that. And they looked great. Price was excellent. Sitter was reliable. I liked being able to use my credit card. Will definitely be using them again. Pros: reliable, good prices, great care more

Best dog walkers in town--and I've tried a lot 5/31/2007

It's my third month as a dog walk client with PugetPets--couldn't be happier. In the last four years, I've lived in three different parts of the city, so I guess you could say I've been around. I moved here to Greenlake a little more than three months ago. In each place, I had a daily dog walker, and I can say without a doubt that PugetPets is the best I've had. Two things I love best. First, Cosmo is nuts about his walker. He's a real loner type, but he acted just like a happy puppy from the first time he met Diane. I also love that if I have to stay late at work, or just want to go out for a drink after work sometimes they can make a late afternoon or evening visit, no problem. With the walkers I had before, if you weren't on the schedule weeks before, no way could you get an extra walk. PugetPets--the best! Pros: My loner dog is like a friendly puppy around his walker more

Fantastic for pets with medical issues 5/30/2007

What a relief! When one of our kitties was diagnosed with diabetes this spring, we wondered what we were going to do for when we were out of town. We'd always just asked our neighbor to look in on them, but asking her to give the daily injections was just too much. I tried a couple of pet sitters, but they didn't do shots. And the one who did come over to meet us--I could tell she didn't really know what she was doing. No way would I risk my Felix with her. I did more looking around and came across PugetPets. Wow! From my talk on the phone with the owner, I could tell they were in a whole different league. The owner explained that the whole staff has been trained by a vet to give injections and IV fluids. And they're not just all certified in pet first aid--they all review it regularly. They can do that because the owner is a certified Red Cross pet first aid instructor. We had our choice of two different staff members, and Felix and Oscar immediately took to the one we first met. The sitter didn't even mind my ""nervous mommy"" phone call the first day, and we got a detailed written report when we got home. I am so relieved that we've found people we can trust to take care of our precious kitties. more

Outstanding overnight service--beats the daycares and kennels hands down 5/16/2007

We have two standard poodles and when we?ve gone out of town in the past, we?ve always boarded at one of those daycares where you can also do overnights. It was never perfect, but it wasn?t too bad. This last time, though, it seemed there were more added charges than ever?so the real cost was almost 30% higher than what the posted price per dog would make you think. And as usual, our dogs came back kind of listless, and ""going"" everywhere in the house because they?re allowed to ""go"" anywhere there. We needed something different, so I asked around and a co-worker suggested PugetPets overnight service. I was kind of leary about having someone stay in the house. But after I talked to Ruth on the phone, discussed which of her staff would be the best match for us, met with her, then checked out references, I was pretty impressed. Ruth even arranged for a special meeting where the sitter came by and met us and met our dogs, so we could be 100% sure about her with them. I was still a little nervous when we left, but when we returned, I was amazed at how great the care had been. Our girls were happy and relaxed, not listless. The house looked terrific?the sitter had even taken the sheets off the bed she'd slept in and put them in our laundry! We?ve already booked PugetPets for our next get-away, and I?ve been telling anyone who asks just how great they are. Pros: completely trustworthy, outstanding pet care Cons: not a single negative about them more

Best dog walkers in Seattle--and I did the research! 4/19/2007

Two months ago I started a job as a full timer for one of my consulting clients. No more working from home, so no more lunch walks me with my husky/lab mix Boomer. I looked around for a dog walker, got some names and made some calls. Everyone sounded OK on the phone. But I?m skeptical. How would I know they were doing a good job? I live in Wallingford near a park where I walk Boomer and where I?d want the walker to go. Tons of dogs and people. On a couple of visits, I sat on a bench with Boomer and watched the action. Saw a gal I knew was a dog walker because I recognized her picture from her website. She was plugged into her I-pod while she walked a very small dog. Her music must have been pretty loud because she didn?t even notice a huge bulldog running in from the side. At the last moment, the little dog raced away from the bulldog. The walker saw what was happening, and picked the little dog up. I could hear it yelp in fear. OK, cross that gal off the list. Pros: concentrate on the dog, not on anI-Pod or anything else more

Really came through in a pinch 3/30/2007

Three weeks ago, my father-in-law had a heart attack, and my husband and I had to rush out of town to be with him and my mother-in-law. When don' t travel that much, but when we do, we usually bring our two kitties--they're like our children. But we couldn't do that this time--hospitals, upset, all the rest. We were frantic, trying to get out of town, when I remembered Ruth, the owner of PugetPets. I heard her give a presentation in February at the big annual cat show. She was one of a group of experts, and her talk was about pet first aid and pet care. I looked her up, told her about our situation, and she was able to fit in a meeting with us that same day. Thank heavens she was so professional and thorough with her questions--we'd have forgotten to explain half of what the sitter needed to know! When it turned out that we had to be away an extra week, PugetPets fit us right into their schedule with the same sitter continuing on. And when we returned--wonderful! The kitties' area was actually tidier than we'd left it (it's usually quite tidy, but we'd been so distracted and in such a rush). Plus, there was a wonderful report left by the sitter that included great stories about our ""kids."" I could tell they'd loved her because her notes described behavior they only bring out for their favorite people. Many, many thanks, PugetPets! Pros: wonderful service, met our last minute needs more

Best dog walkers in town 3/18/2007

What a difference! Our very active black lab had been walked by a neighborhood college student for the last year, but when she wound up graduating early, we were left without a dog walker. I got PugetPets name from our vet, and they have turned out to be perfect. Inky is actually relaxed at the end of the day when we come home. I didn?t think that was possible! I?ve noticed that he?s also walking better on the leash with me?not pulling as much as he had been. I asked our walker about that and she was simply reinforcing what my husband was doing when we?d walked Inky during our ?get acquainted meeting.? I thought about that, watched carefully as my husband walked Inky, and now I?m doing a couple of things different myself. Thanks to PugetPets, we have a relaxed dog who is much more fun to walk! Pros: fantastic skills with active dogs, terrific updates, online bill payment more

Puppy care extraordinaire! 3/15/2007

Our wonderful 15 year old Ginger died late last year, and we started talking about a new pup in February. The only problem is my husband and I both work all day, so we knew we?d need help when the little one arrived. We did a lot of research into pet care, and PugetPets easily topped our list. What sold us on them was all the thought they?d put into how to help owners with new puppies. As just one example, they explained that they like to support the owners on their training, gave us an easy way to keep them updated on what that was, and kept us updated on how it all was going. What also sold us was how caring and knowledgeable they were at the free ?get to know you? meeting that they had with us and the little one. It?s been more than a six weeks now and he?s doing great. I feel like we have very smart, very caring help in making sure he gets off to a great start. Pros: care, knowledge, communication more
