Two months ago I started a job as a full timer for one of my consulting clients. No more working from home, so no more lunch walks me with my husky/lab mix Boomer. I looked around for a dog walker, got some names and made some calls. Everyone sounded OK on the phone. But I?m skeptical. How would I know they were doing a good job? I live in Wallingford near a park where I walk Boomer and where I?d want the walker to go. Tons of dogs and people. On a couple of visits, I sat on a bench with Boomer and watched the action. Saw a gal I knew was a dog walker because I recognized her picture from her website. She was plugged into her I-pod while she walked a very small dog. Her music must have been pretty loud because she didn?t even notice a huge bulldog running in from the side. At the last moment, the little dog raced away from the bulldog. The walker saw what was happening, and picked the little dog up. I could hear it yelp in fear. OK, cross that gal off the list.
Pros: concentrate on the dog, not on anI-Pod or anything else
