Puget Pets is the best in town! 2/22/2007

Before we went on a week's vacation for the first time after adopting our kitty girls, I was a nervous wreck trying to find someone I was comfortable with. Boarding them at the vet would be too expensive, not to mention stressful for the kitties. I came across the website for Puget Pets on a Google search, and am I ever glad I clicked on the link! The minute Ruth walked in our house for the ""getting-to-know-you"" visit, we were put at ease with her professionalism and enthusiam for animals. Our normally shy cats came right to her to say hello. We were very impressed with the level of detail Ruth went into, asking questions about the girls and their routines. She was also very knowledgeable and thorough with answering the few questions we had. I would refer anyone who truly wants the absolute best pet care to Puget Pets. The price cannot be beat, and neither can the service! Pros: Professional, compassionate, caring, the best pet care in town! Cons: NONE! more

Great walks for active dogs 2/18/2007

When I went from freelance to a full-time job, I knew I'd need a dog walker. I heard about PugetPets from two different people, so I figured that had to be good. And they didn't disappoint. I have a VERY active Husky named Kuma who needs to get out and MOVE every day. That's what he's getting. My PugetPets walker gives me updates every day about what they do: sprinting running, and playing. It's great. And I can tell that Kuma loves it because he's more relaxed and happy when I come home than I've ever seen him. Pros: great match for my very active dog more

Great quality care in our home, great $$ value 2/6/2007

First heard about PugetPets when I took on of the Red Cross Pet First Aid classes Ruth teaches. Great class and I learned a lot, so when I needed care for our two dogs Sitka and Juneau of course I thought about Ruth. We?d taken our boys to a daycare/kennel before, but PugetPets does overnight care in our home for the same price. And, we didn?t have to load up dogs and food, then to take them over and pick them up. Plus the boys got to stay at home, which they love. PugetPets gave them great walks, an evening of games (Sitka loves a funny little fetch-type game), and feedings exactly according to our directions. (a little complicated) Plus, great email updates every day, and the house looked better when we came back than it did when we left. Couldn't have been better. Pros: Great quality of care, great value more

100% reliable, warm and professional 1/22/2007

We started using PugetPets after we found out from the neighbors that our previous (and now fired) dog walker wasn?t really walking our dogs?she was just letting them out for a few minutes in our backyard! PugetPets has been such a relief?their professionalism all the way around. The walker comes when they?re supposed to. We get daily updates. And our neighbors have told us that sometimes the walker even walks Dakota for longer than the 30 minutes we pay for! Our dog is happier and more relaxed. And so are we. Pros: completely reliable, very professional , we have real peace of mind now Cons: None! more

Professional, caring 1/18/2007

Thank you PugetPets! We?ve been hesitant to go away on vacation, because we needed really good care for our dog and two kitties, but hadn?t been able to find it. But Thanksgiving, we had no choice: my parents were going to be really mad at us if we didn?t go see them. PugetPets did such a great job that we felt confident about going away over Christmas and New Years too. My husband and I are even thinking about a long ski weekend next month. Really great professionalism, updates, and care for Allie, Kuta, and Shadow. Pros: Professional, caring, excellent updates Cons: None! more

Wonderful! 1/8/2007

The service at PugetPets was absolutely amazing; the owner went above and beyond to make sure that our pets were taken care of. The email updates that PugetPets sent after each visit were also informative and highly appreciated; they went far to reassure me that our ""bunny babies"" were in capable hands! more

great prices, great service 12/30/2006

We first started using PugetPets to walk our two dogs because their prices are some of thlowest around, and we needed Simba and Sinbad walked every day, but didn't have a lot of $$. Before the first walk, we did wonder what the quality would be like, given the low price, but we had a happy surprise. The walks are great for our boys, and our neighbor, who's home during the day, said Ruth arrived like clockwork and kept up the brisk pace our boys love. We could see at the end of the day they were relaxed, happy and well exercised. Our financial situation has changed, so we could go wtih a pricier company, but we're sticking with PugetPets because there is no way to beat their quality. Pros: great combination of low prices and great service more

Best pet care service around! 12/13/2006

OK, let me gush for a bit. PugetPets is, hands down, the best pet sitting service we?ve ever used. A friend of ours used them once to sit for their cat when they had to go out of town for a family emergency, and they were impressed with PugetPet's professionalism, responsiveness, and ability to deal with what turned out to be their changing schedule for return. So, as you can imagine, we had pretty high expectations when we phoned PugetPets, and they exceeded all of those high expectations. Professionalism is right: from their attitude, which combined professionalism with real caring for our two dogs, to the extensive notes they took about our dogs' care, to the online invoice they sent us so we could be sure the service is just what we?d asked for, to the daily emails they sent, and on and on. Professional and caring. And a real bonus is the system PugetPets has where, as clients, we can do online scheduling, payment, etc. And it?s none of this paypal stuff. This is set up with the credit card companies. As I said above, professional and caring. It sounds like a cliche, but it's true: we have true peace of mind knowing that PugetPets has everything covered. Pros: Professional, extremely caring more

Pet sitting that's a breed apart 12/8/2006

I know lots of people think it?s no big deal to find someone to walk their dog?and that the high school kid down the street can do the job. What can I say?we?re not ?lots of people.? We were looking for someone with qualifications more than just that they have a dog and love animals. We wanted someone who actually knew something about pet care and would know what they were doing. That?s why we wound up using PugetPets. Sure they love pets?that was clear from the moment Ruth came into our house and started interacting with our ?old mama? kitty and ?young rascal? dog. But that was just the start. Ruth actually has an academic background in the area, keeps updated on the latest research, (she taught us a thing or two!) is a Red Cross Pet First Aid Instructor, and has incredibly professional business practices. Add to this the bonding and insurance PugetPets has?and I wonder why anyone would trust the pets they love to that high school neighbor. Pros: knowledgable, caring, professional more

Great care, great prices 12/6/2006

My husband I moved here not long ago from Atlanta and heard about PugetPets from our new vet. One of the many great things about PugetPets is that they don?t charge you extra fees for every little thing. We have two dogs, and one of them takes medication. Back in Atlanta, we had to pay one price for the pet sitting, then extra for two dogs versus one, then even more extra for the pet sitter to give the meds. Not so with PugetPets. Their fee is their fee. No last minute surprises. And of course, with our boys being older and one on the medication, it?s been very comforting to hire Ruth, who teaches those Red Cross Pet First Aid classes. That was another big bonus. Back in Atlanta, there were plenty of petsitters who had taken that Pet First Aid class, but I?ve never come across anyone else who was certified to teach it. And we can see that Ruth really knows her stuff. As far as we?re concerned, it?s been a big win all around. Pros: Great prices, superior care more

Takes great care of our kitties, our house, and us! 12/1/2006

I was heartbroken when we moved and I had to leave our old pet sitter behind. I never thought I?d find another equal to her. Well, with PugetPets, we found a pet sitter who was even better! I wouldn?t have believed it. One of our two kitties, Donnie, is usually so shy he won?t even come into the room with new people, yet within five minutes of Ruth?s arriving, he was at her feet, begging to be petted. I?ve never seen that before. And Ruth was so great with him. I was also really, really happy with the detailed questions she asked at that first meeting. She?d really thought of everything, from microchip and vet info to details about feeding and treats. We felt good leaving her to look after our two kitties, and the emails she sent us every day while we were gone were terrific. When we got back, the kitties were happy, well cared for and beautifully brushed. I hope we never move again--I don?t think I?d ever be able to replace PugetPets Pros: everything more

My normally skittish collies took to Ruth immediately 11/22/2006

My vet recommended PugetPets to me. I use them every month to look after my two purebred collies when I?m away on business trips. For me, it?s simple. PugetPets is the best there is. Scheduling is simple with their online system. Same for paying. Simple and with my credit card. But none of that would matter if it weren?t for the quality of care. Collies can be cautious with new people, and that?s true for my two. But both of them responded immediately to Ruth. She had a calm way about her from the moment she walked in, and I think that's what did it. Within minutes Lacey, the more skittish, was pressed next to Ruth, wanting to be petted, and stayed that way during the whole first meeting. Most of the time, I'm not here when Ruth is, but the two times I have been, it's been the same. Both Lacey and Dancer love to be around her. And it's obvious they're well fed, exercised and loved while I'm away. PugetPets gets my highest recommendation. Pros: Outstanding care and professional service more

perfect for nervous first-timers 11/15/2006

This was my husband?s and my first time away from our new kitty and we were as nervous as first time parents. (Yes, we?re nuts about our kitty Sage!) Ruth put us at ease right away with her calm, friendly and professional manner. And her way with Sage! I?ve never seen our usually shy girl take to any one so fast. From there, it was an easy decision to hire Ruth, and she exceeded all our expectations. Detailed emails eased our concerns on a daily basis while we were away. The house was immaculate when we returned. And Sage?I swear she was sorry to see Ruth go! We interviewed a number of pet sitters before meeting Ruth. Now I feel like we won?t ever need to look any further. Pros: immediately bonded with our kitty more

Best of high tech and and hands on care 11/13/2006

OK, I have to admit it: it?s important to my wife and I to have great care for our two dogs?and it?s also important to us that things are CONVENIENT. The care Ruth gave our boys was top rate. And for us, even better than that was no more phone tag, no more nail biting while we waited for a return email or call telling us whether we could be fit into the sitter?s schedule. Nope. PugetPets has an online system where, once we were clients, we could schedule OURSELVES in for service. We?d then get an email confirmation that we were on the schedule, and from there, we could even pay online with a credit card if we wanted to. Of course, being in the tech industry?and a skeptic?myself, I wanted to know just how secure the site was. Turns out PugetPets uses the same protocols as the online brokerage firms. That?s good enough even for me. In my view, Ruth has figured out how to use the best of high tech and the best of hands-on care to create a pet care service like no other. Pros: excellent care for our pups, convenience for us more

Most knowledgable pet sitter I've met 11/10/2006

I learned about PugetPets when I took the Red Cross Pet First Aid class that Ruth taught. I have a 15 year old Malamute, Kuma who has some health problems and I wanted to know what to do if there were an emergency. After seeing how knowlegable Ruth was about first aid and emergency situations, I talked with her about taking care of Kuma when I have to be out of town. Her prices were great, Kuma loved her immediately, and I had the peace of mind of knowing Kuma was being cared for by someone who would really know what to do if there were a problem. Pros: knowledgable, reliable, and my dog loves her! Cons: none! more
