I am new pilates, so I can't compare this studio to any others. I was given a 5-session Groupon as a gift, and I was looking forward to using it. I recently ran a marathon and was anxious to find a form of active recovery and cross training that involved a lot less impact but was still a good workout.
I had an appointment to use their massage bed on a Saturday morning, and no one showed up. I left a message, but it was not returned until Monday. In fact, getting return phone calls has been a problem in general, even just to schedule regular classes.
The workouts themselves are interesting and slightly challenging, but I have not experienced any of that wonderful soreness I've had after other forms of exercise and cross training. The instructors were also very critical of running as exercise which turned me off a little because I'm a runner at heart. Telling a runner that ""running is terrible for your body"" isn't a great way to get them to come back.
For the price, I'd rather join a traditional gym and get the benefit of various forms of exercise rather than just pilates. Although, this might be a good way to start exercising for people who aren't already fit, it seemed a little ""lightweight"" for someone who'd been working out for a long time.
