omg, i feel so sorry for those dogs and cats & birds. i know what i saw when i went in thier and it has not changed from when i was in there 15 years ago. it's about time someone spoke up. good luck out there to all u animal lovers. we all will be saying prayers for the animals. those animals can not speak for them selves so follow the advice of dave from human society & complain to channel2 or whomever. its called UNCONDITIONAL LOVE..... more

THE ANIMALS CAN NOT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES AND WAY TO GO ALL YOU OTHER ANIMAL LOVERS. I HAVE BEEN IN THERE ONCE OR TWICE AND CAN NOT BELIEVE THE WAY THE ANIMALS ARE TREATED. THERE WAS SO MANY DOGS AND CATS TO ONE CAGE. I AM READING THE FIVE STAR REVIEWS AND CAN ONLY ASSUME THEY ARE FROM THE OWNERS FAMILY MEMBERS. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs that I purchased from Pollywood and I absolutly LOVE them! They all get along great and my home wouln't be the same without them! I refer all of my freinds and family to her petstore and they all have said they recieved above and beyond treatment. Shelly is very knowledgeble in terms of animals and I know she is always honest and sincere with me. If you want a designer dog that has a good temperment, friendly and a wonderful around children...Pollywood is the place to go! She will help you find the perfect fit for your needs and will build a relationship with you for years to come!! Pros: Beautiful variety of puppies to choose from! I am glad I found this site because I have complaint. I bought my dog 2 years ago from pollywood pets. I picked him out from a cage that had 3 other dogs in it. There was dried feces on the bars and the dogs all looked sick and dehydrated. His cage did not have food or water and no blankets. Just hard wire cages. I took him to my vet and he had severe intestinal and respitory problems. He already had problems walking from being in a cage for so long. He really did not know how to walk normal. He also had fleas and his nails were curled up into the pads of his feet.He was also older than what Shelly the owner told me. Shelly told me he was 5 months old but he was actually closer to a year old. She did not give me any kind of paperwork to show me how old he was.He could not hold food down and kept throwing up. This went on for about 4 months and I kept going back to the vet. I spent over a thousand dollars in medical bills. Sadly my dog died in August 2006 from the problems he had in that pet store. My vet told me if he would have been treated sooner, he would be alive today. I think this place should not be allowed to sell animals. i have been to pollywood pets at both places . i have never seen such bad conditions. the cages where coverd with feces and urine and bird feces everywhere. there was 3 dogs to a cage, some could not even stand. the place was dark and gloomy. the birds where bald, the wood under the cages was old and chewed up. the dogs are sick. more

The state regulations are so minimal that Michael Vick probably would have passed inspections. The facts are the facts and the innocent animals are suffering. Horrid cages, animals eat, lay & sleep in their own urine & feces. Animals get no socialization or excersise, no fresh air and no love. They are god creatures and they are living beings. see dogs over a year old, stuck 3 in a cage, see filth, see unsocialized puppies and adults. NO good breeder would ever sell a puppy to a pet store, please remember that. I've been in there. Read the health reports. Never again. Cons: presented a mix breed as purebred more

Sit back and think of course not everything is going to be perfect. There are too many animal they can only do what they can. I think the owner is really nice and she took very good care of me and my dog. I personally dont like pet shops because the animals dont get out much but Pollywood has a good choice of animals and a curtious staff. You guys cant expect for someone to sit there with a napkin and wait for the dogs to urinate or fieceate Really we have to be reasonable when rating someone. Look at the overall picture and i think the store has improved alot and is continualy gettin better. Pros: good staff Cons: little activity for the animals more

I have recently purchased a 7 month old pomeranian from this store because I felt terrible that she has lived in a cage for that long. After I brought her home, I took her to the vet and she had ear mites, roundworms, and her hind legs were curved in due to being stuck in a cage for so long. She is a very good puppy but is frightened very easily and is not potty trained. This place needs to be shut down. more

After reading these reviews on Pollywood Pets, I just has to write a review also, this is my first time writing a review about any store or customer, but after reading some of these review on Pollywood Pets,I just had too. Because it seen to be saying that the people are more concern about Shelley making big money, than about the animals they are using as a target to get at Shelley. It seen you are jelousy, angry or just plain don't like Shelley, She had pass all the inspections, and She would have to have a very large bank account to keep paying off the state,so what's your problem. I have visted Pollywood Pet many times and I've yet to see the kind of crulety you people are speaking of. We all know when a person is terminated from a job, it is very unlikley they will have something nice to say about the place that just fired them. And if I had purchase a sick dog, cat or bird, I would be standing in front of the place everyday it was open, until the owner did right by my pet and myself. Why haven't you? Shelley, you continue to stand, be strong and of good courage,do not turn from the right or the left of this foul talking mess, what ever the devil is trying to do know that there are strong prayer warriors praying for you and God's animals, so that you may prosper wherever you go. And I'm not speaking of financial success, it mean much more than that, I'm speaking of all those customers who have been bless because their homes has one of your pets. You people need to get a life, if the pets were as bad as you say they WOULD have been shut down long ago....Also if you bought a pet and DIDN""T take it to the vet within the specified time period thats your own fault.......YOU have to sign paperwork don't you?? Duh......Leave them alone already, nothing better to do with your time now that you don't have a job does not justify you to ""TRY"" and RUIN someone elses business, I hope you don't do that at your next job IF you get one, good luck I would not hire you. This is by far one of the most educated and caring places to purchase an animal ever. Let Channel 2 come out. Shelley and David deserve the publicity.. because the world will see what a great shop they run. Pros: educated staff, caring Crew, meticulously clean environment Cons: nothing more

I have known the owners of Pollywood for about 25 years - long before thay had this store location in the Trade Center. They have always proven to be responsible and caring people with their animals. If you even want to HOLD an animal - you are first told to use an antiseptic wipe !!! WHY ?? So YOUR germs do not get onto the animal and make it SICK - what pet store do you know that does THIS ...?? I buy my animals -especially my birds - no where else. I am a bird breeder and I have never I received a sick bird - nor have I ever seen a sick bird in their store. And I am there far more often than any of the writers who are writing ridiculous things about the store. I ll tell you what I , myself, HAVE seen - ignorant people coming into the store RANTING and yelling about a bird that they 'think' is pulling its feathers out - when in fact - it is ""molting"" - changing , losing, its feathers - which is a natural occurance in birds that happens once a year ! Personally I dont know how the owners put up with these ignorant - not stupid - but simply ""ignorant"" people ! These uneducated people are the rude and nasty ones - NOT the owners !
