Rudest Manager Ever! 4/20/2011

I was in Pizza Villa on the night lluecken is referring to. The lady you are talking about was not 'bothering' the owner in any way. She simply asked, after 50 minutes when she was told 20, if it would be much longer. The owner flew into a rage and would not give her the pizzas, even though they were ready and she had paid for them. You could tell the employees were embarrassed by his behavior, too. My family ate there about every two weeks but after that we vowed not to give anyone who acts like that our business. This was not the first time I have witnessed the owner treat customers this way. He is truly the Pizza Nazi. more

Pizza Villa 10/25/2010

One of the sweetest persons that I know was treated so rudely by the owner of this establishment this past Saturday night. She called ahead and ordered two pizzas and was told that it would 20 minutes. She had raved about this pizza to her friends that were with her when they went to get the pizza. They arrived after the 2o minutes was up and the pizza was not ready. They waited a while and after 50 minutes, my friend went to inquire about the pizzas. The owner started yelling at her so loudly that the place fell silent. The owner then yells to the person pulling the pizzas out of the oven that her last name) had been bothering him and she was not to get her pizza. She was given her money back, went home, ordered a pizza from a different place and was treated with respect. If you enjoy being treated this way, then by all means eat here. I never will and I am telling everyone I know to never go. more

Long time customer 5/18/2009

I have been eating this pizza since I was 16 years old when they were on Walnut St. in Garland (34 years!). It's always been a family owned place. The father smoked waaayyyy too much but since they made the resturants in Richardson non-smoking this shouldn't be an issue anymore. My husband and I pick up pizza from here normally about once a week. Love the thin crust and chopped jalapenos and they don't skimp on the ingredients. My daughter also loves it and that is always the first thing she wants when she comes home from school. In fact she is coming this week and pizza villa is on the menu for the 1st nights dinner. Hope they never go out of business! Pros: My favorite pizza more

Great Pizza! 10/25/2008

This is great pizza. My family has been going here for years. You don't stay in business this long by having substandard food. The owners know pratically everyone that walks in the door. The place smells so good and the pizza is cooked in one of those old ovens that has the brick on the bottom. So what if they don't take credit cards. I have heard the workers get a little gruff at times but it is part of the nature of the place. Not everyone is going to like it. However, if you want a good thin crust; this is your place! Pros: Great pizza. They don't skimp on the cheese or toppings. Cons: Closed on Sunday's and Monday's. more

Worst Service Ever 9/6/2008

I had heard good recommendations about this place, granted that was a few years ago. Finally had an opportunity to take the family in and try the place out. What a disappointment. We ordered our pizzas from the kid behind the counter and he was friendly enough and we sat and waited. 45 minutes later, still no pizza. When I inquired at the counter, the owner/manager/whoever began to yell at me. The man is unbalanced, we also noticed him berating employees, teenagers mostly, quite vociferously. Needless to say I got most of my money back and left. As the manager was attempting to bully me, the waiter kid put a pizza on our table. As we were leaving they reserved said pizza by putting in a to go box for a phone order. The proper authorities will be getting a call. Pros: None, really Cons: Hostile service, dirty plates, ashtray near kitchen. more

Best Hole-in-the-Wall Pizza Joint 8/13/2008

I've tried a lot of pizza joints around town from the chains to the fu-fu-fancy pizza joints and I think Pizza Villa (PV) has the best thin crust pizza in town. Bar none.... The spices, the sauce, the crust, and toppings are excellent. Their pizza is uniquely spiced and they chop up their meat toppings (including pepperoni) which results in a uniform taste with each bite. The meat toppings are also less greasy and more crunchy than when you cook them in in the normal way. Think of the difference between crispy bacon versus limp/greasy bacon and you will understand what I mean.\r \r If your going to try their pizza, I'd recommend ordering pizza for pick-up rather than dining in. PV is a little hole-in-the-wall place and its ambience is lacking. In fact its ambience is rather lousy. The chain smoking owner should take his cigs outside. But good tasting pizza is more important to me than ambience. They don't deliver, don't take credit cards, and they charge for drink refills. PV is the best kept secret in the Dallas area pizza world.... Price-wise they are SLIGHTY (10%+) more expensive but I'm willing to pay extra for good pizza. Pros: Wonderful thin crust pizza Cons: Lousy ambience and chain smoking owner... more

My favorite pizza place in Dallas! 2/21/2008

So honestly, this place has the best pizza in Dallas. Their crust is thin and the toppings are wonderful. I will definitely keep going back here when ever I get my pizza cravings.\r \r Pros: Mom n Pop place, cozy, nice people Cons: hmmm...none more

best pizza 5/5/2007

OK, I felt like I did everyone reading a great service by writing a great review - In it I raved about hte pizza. I went back twice, however, and it was nothing the same as the first time. In fact all three times it tasted pretty different. The first time my parents and I loved it. But subsequently, quite frankly, I decided I will have to be really hungry (and maybe out of gas) to go back. Another turn off besides that it's not exactly cheap for what it is, and the fact that they don't accept credit cards or serve coke is that someone who works there regularly must be a total chain smoker because of the pile of cigarrette butts always sitting on the table closest to the register..to me that's pretty gross. oh well... Pros: close Cons: no coke, no credit cards, decor more

Crunchy Thin Crust 11/7/2006

The pizza is very thin and chruncy, and very well priced. I am also from NY and went with several others from the NY/NJ area, and do not agree with the other review. This pizza is not the best but it was good. The sauce had a nice southern kick to it and it was very crispy. The restaurant itself it not very well decorated and the service was alright, the food did take a little longer than expected to prepare. I would recommend it for lunch if you are in the area. Pros: Cheap more

You've got to be kidding?!! 8/31/2006

I tried this pizza place a while back when I was trying to find NY/NJ style pizza since I'm from NJ and was a bit desperate so I figured I'd try this place since it was recommended. I was very dissapointed. The pizza tasted like cardboard and it was nothing to brag about. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better than this. When I want NY style pizza I go to Pastacios, Vito's or Cafe Roma (they now have a Richardson location) and I'm never dissapointed. For all you guys who posted this place is so great, try one of those and you'll never go back to PV. No offense, but if you've never been up north and have never tried good NY/NJ style pizza, then you don't know what good pizza is.\r Cons: buy frozen pizza - brickoven thin crust is better! more

35 Years of Pizza Villa Love 1/11/2006

I grew up Richardson and have been eating Pizza Villa for 35 years. The pizza is the best I have had anywhere in the world. The crust is thin and crispy. They put just the right amount of sauce and the toppings are abundant. Pizza Villa is family owned and operated, which adds to the charm. These guys know their customers. Pros: Crust, Sauce, Toppings more

Great pies, great price! 10/14/2005

Pizza bliss!!! This stuff is good, good, good! New York, Chicago, now Richardson baby! Great crispy-crust pies and they're cheap. Yeah, there's no ambience, but who cares? It's a neighborhood hole-in-the-wall people, what do you want? Now get out there and stuff your faces! Pros: Value like crazy, great pizza more

It's a real pizza pie, not a giant breadstick! 8/3/2005

I love pizza and if you like real pizza you need to try Pizza Villa. Crust is thin, thin and crispy not burnt. All toppings are top quality. The owners are friendly and personable. Flaked ice fountain drinks, so good and free refills. Pros: Location, inexpensive, good parking Cons: ambience more

Great Pizza, Personal touch 7/11/2005

This is just really delicious pizza! Family owned and operated, you can often catch the owner in the first booth. They make each pie to perfection and get to know their customers on a first name basis as much as possible. This is not a fancy dining experiance, just great pizza and friendly service. Pros: Great Food, Personal Service, Take Out Cons: Ambience more
