Loved the Pirate Show 7/28/2011

Loved the Pirate Show wanna go back their again. It was actually pretty good they were getting all the audience involved and i actually danced the YMCA towards the end of the show haha which most of my friends knows that i hardly dance unless i'm in the mood for it LOL This is good for birthdays, celebrations, anything or etc. But the food i wouldn't recommend except the Chicken. And the dessert was just ice cream it was not bad =) We get to keep the Pirate cups if we order our own drinks. The drinks is a lil bit pricey above $10. more

Recommend checking it out 7/26/2011

The kids enjoyed it so I think that's what matters the most. The food was ok. The entertainment for me was fun I think because 3 of the 5 of us got to participate in the show. I loved that they had LOTS of things to snack on before the show started for FREE. If you're into pirate adventures I recommend checking it out especially if you have children :) more

Worth the money 7/25/2011

Birthday Celebration time! woo hoo! my nephew turned 6 while we were visiting Anaheim and what better way can you think to celebrate a birthday than with pirates! ARRRGGG! We bought our tickets online, and saved ourselves 10/ticket. bonus! We arrived 90 minutes early and decided to go with the upgraded package for a cake and birthday announcement... $28 not bad! (for our entire party of 8) The 90 minutes went by really really quickly, as we were entertained with the backstory the whole time. My 16 year old son was volunteered, courtesy of myself and his aunt, to participate in the show, he got to be a can can dancer. hahah got some good pictures out of that one! The food wasnt fabulous, but it was decent. for $46 and some change, we got chicken, some beef that tasted similiar to pot roast, and veggies. Started off with a very simple salad and coke. Dessert included apple pie a la mode. (at least i think it was apple pie, its pretty dark in there) everything was decent, nothing to remember it by. but you dont go there for the gourmet food, do you. Thats why the show was so great, i think everyone in my party got to participate in some way, which is why this adventure is so much better than Medieval times! My husband was the stevador, I was the cannon master, my son got to raise the sails, and birthday boy, he got to go on the boat and get sworn in as a pirate. we had so much fun! and our pirate was HILARIOUS. and these men are athletic! All in all, it was so worth the money, for the great time to be had! Thank you, Pirate Saxton, for making our trip memorable! We will visit again when we come back in the summer! more

Fun for kids of all ages 7/21/2011

Since we did Medieval times on the last trip, we decided to check out things here at the Pirate's Dinner Adventure. WOW! Okay, I hate to say it but this was even better and more worth the top dollar paid than for the adventure over at the Medieval Times. At first, you get to walk around and enjoy whore dervz like tasty meatballs and my all time fave...CHEESE. Then you get to watch a lil air acrobats show with half naked ladies and jack sparrow types---fun for kids of all ages. Then it is on to the show where you are seated surrounding a pirate ship and get to watch plank walking, pirate fighting and a bunch of audience interaction. Of course you also get to root for your section's assigned pirate. This was really fun because the party of 10 or so directly behind us had been downing gallons of Rum with all their pirate BOOTY. Good times Matey! ARGHHHH! more

Definetly a family show 7/18/2011

Well well well!! I have been to the Pirate Dinner Adventure twice for my birthday and LOVED it, both times. If you are expecting for great laughs, action and fun this is a show for you. It is generally geared for kids who like pirates (or those who are young at heart) though, so if you expect to be entertained on an adult level, don't bother. Please remember that they are down the street from Disneyland so its def more of a family show. It was great, interactive fun and I loved every minute of it. GO Orange more

Thought the food was great and the service was exceptional 7/14/2011

For a real Amercian Dinner Theatre experience this really IS as good as it gets... It is a 100% guaranteed great time for family and friends- Think....smiling, happy, little kids running around with swords...getting up on the stage and being a part of the show.... Personally I thought the food was great and the service was exceptional. I am not sure where else you can get two hours of quality entertainment and a four course meal for under $60.00... The set design is amazing and the show was interactive and funny.... I have guests in from New Zealand this month and Pirates is on our list of things to do while they are here to complete the theme park itinerary! I highly recommend it! more

It's a Pirate's Life for me!!! 7/5/2011

Yes, this is as good as it gets when you compare to Medieval Times or the recently opened Battle of the Dance. My party and I (a total of 8 adults) had a very fun time at Pirates. We were there on a night that was almost completely sold out, which added to the fun environment. When there are several hundred people in one spot that are screaming and cheering, you can't help but have a great time. The meal was pretty good too, considering the mass amounts that they are making. I had the soup and the vegetable lasagna (mmm, really yummy). The biggest upside to dinner was that I did not have to eat with my hands. As much fun as I enjoy having, eating with my hands just is not fun. It's just messy! It makes me laugh when reading reviews on here that complain about the food. Consider your surroundings fatties and the amount of mouths that need to be feed. If you are looking for a stellar dinner, then you shouldn't be going to a dinner theater. LOL As for the show itself, the cast was very entertaining and did an excellent job of drawing in the kids in the audience. Not to mention there is a lot of eye candy in the show. ;-) There is also lots of audience participation in the show which we were not expecting. Almost everyone in our party was able to participate at some point. This made the night even more fun because of the pics that we got and will be able to share on each others Facebook, so we can look back and remember our fun evening. So overall we had an excellent evening of fun and plan to go again and bring some other friends that were not able to attend. That being said, ""it's a Pirate's Life for me!!!"" more

great show for kids 7/1/2011

""I enjoyed the dinner AND the show. I paid about $30 for the Halloween dinner, got there an hour before the show, and enjoyed a fishbowl cocktail and free appetizers. Based on yelp, my friends and I were expecting really good appetizers, but we got finger food meant for kids. Overly sweet BBQ meatballs and turkey on cold slices of white bread and thin strips of dry overcooked chicken. I'm pretty positive that anyone who looks forward to these appetizers only do so because they come with an empty stomach. We got there and immediately ordered a fishbowl of alcohol to get warmed up, expecting a horrid show. Once the show started we were fed immediately. Salad was ok. The chicken was really moist and tender. It was a little under seasoned which was fine because the rice was salty. A nice balance. The cobbler was decent but by that time I was so full I couldn't even drink a cup of the coffee they offered at the end of dinner. The show is interactive and audience participation is worked into the storyline. It was a bit difficult to scream with a mouth full of food. Was anyone even eating or was I just eating extremely slow? I guess I can't do two things at once...That was ok though because I'm not much of an audience participator. I don't go far beyond clapping and an occasional scream. You're sitting elbow to elbow with the people next to you, which I didn't mind because the lady next to me gave us her fishbowl of alcohol. SCORE! The pirates almost force you to participate even if you don't want to, which is what happened to my friends. I just think the yellow pirate had the hots for my lady friends. The storyline itself is a p.o.s., the acting isn't too bad, and I got a few chuckles here and there. I'm a very visual person so anything that can catch my attention (like the green pirate) I'll watch. Parking's easy since there's a lot dedicated to just Pirate goers. The show is a bit cheesy but if you don't care I recommend everyone see this at least once. I probably won't be back here until I have kids...which won't be for a loooooong time. more

Overall it was fun 6/29/2011

Great fun for a decent price 6/1/2011

Pirates Dinner Adventure Theater was great fun for a decent price. DO NOT EXPECT BROADWAY or some theater event. This is simply not great Theater.... it is however great family fun. My children really liked it and they are very hard to please especially in this genre. The food was decent and the show was fun. We walked in expecting a good time and we got one. Extra kudos to Anna our server and the Actors... they made it fun. One thing the Pork Shoulder just before the entrance to the show was good (not great) but good.... more

I LOVED THIS PLACE 5/27/2011

I LOVED THIS PLACE, my friends took me here for my 20Th bday and i was very excited. I really liked the appetizers that they give you before the show. They had about 7 different types of appetizers, which were all really good. I loved the show, which we REALLY got into. I guess if you're a kid at heart and you know how to have fun then you cant go wrong at this place. Dinner was delicious...except the rice could have been a Lil better, but besides that i DEFINITELY think everyone should go here at least once! more

A Memorable Adventure 5/26/2011

I visited ""Pirates Dinner Adventure"" on April 4, 2009 and I must say it was an experience...First. I'd like to thank the bartender for adding an extra touch to my Long Island Iced Tea. (If I didn't have my Long Island Iced Tea(in hand)- I'd probably go crazy.) Secondly, I'd like to Thank the Long-haired Klingon Orange Pirate for making my Adventure memorable. Third. I'd like to give props to the Princess for trying to play hard to get....but... Lastly. My Blue Pirate Benjamin won the princess over. Who else can take a girl backstage within the first 30 minutes of meeting? Long Island Iced Tea in a Gold Souvenir Pimp Cup=$16. Having a Blue Pirate win the Princess over and hitting it within the first 30 minutes of winning her over & eating a Chicken dinner while all the drama is unfolding.=$50. Having the entire Blue section Chant ""PONY-TAIL, PONY-TAIL"" at the Long haired Orange KLINGON pirate with a tattooed sun below his navel, wearing Nike's & having a ""security guard"" come to your table and tell you to ""Be Quiet...or else"". - PRICELESS! At the end of the ""Pirate Adventure""-I turned to my Brother and asked...""So-who won?"" I couldn't even follow the storyline. Did a plot even exist in the Pirate's Dinner Adventure Theater? Hell if I know. (P.S.) Blame it on the A-A-A-ALCOHOL. more

My daughter loved this place 5/25/2011

Now remember! This is a place for the kids, it's not about the adults! My daughter loved this place. It's a different experience than jousting arena down the street! But it was still worth it, even I had fun with this. more

I even participated 5/23/2011

Just went today with 2 friends. Wasn't really sure what to expect, but came in ready for fun... and it was really fun. The appetizers before the show were okay. Come early for lesser/no lines lines. They let you in 2 hours before. They had a variety: chicken wings, cold meats (turkey, ham) and cheeses, vegetable sticks, pasta, and some others. The chicken wings were really good, but then they ran out and had meatballs instead... not as good so I went to get a midori sour. Cocktails are $8 in the smaller plastic cups or 16 in a glass souviener cup (12 for plastic). The preshow starts about an hour before the show... but I missed most of it to go out and get friends, so I'm not really sure what was going on. They then start to seat you by the color of your ticket, green and blue are the sections way on the sides... so I am not sure how good the views are from there. It is a small place though. All the other sections I'm sure have awesome views. At the beginning I wasn't really sure what was going on, but had a great time cheering and getting into it. I even participated!! It's true what people say, get into it and it will be sooo much more fun. It's cheesy but good fun. It is true that there is a lot of singing that goes on... probably why I wasn't sure what was going on at the beginning, but then about halfway through, there's more fighting. Show is about 1hr 45 min. The food was not bad, chicken was really tender. I had the shrimp with chicken, that was pretty good... I didn't try the beef and chicken combo, so I can't say for that one. At the end, they recommend giving a $5 tip for adults and $3 for kids. Bottom line, come in ready for some cheesy fun and you will have fun...I mean c'om, you've got alcohol, pirates, friends... you can't really go wrong :) more

DON'T miss the preshow 5/20/2011

I went on saturday night, to suprise my boyfriend for his birthday. I've been years ago to the show in Florida and thought it was great. We arrived an hour and a half before the show, had a picture with a pirate, threw on my yellow headband, enjoyed the free appetizers and visited gift shops. During the pre-show my boyfriend participated and had a blast. DON'T miss the preshow!! The show will not make sense if you miss it. Otherwise, the food was suprisingly good. My chicken was moist despite the other reviews. Good loud fun!!! Jokes intended for adults, plenty of games and participation for children. OF course there are going to be some cheesy acting and games, but what did you expect? Thats the fun part about it!!! Kick back and enjoy yourself. more
