All reviews seem positive

I just went and had a blast! 2/1/2011

Arrrrr ye matey! I just went to the pirate show with some family from out of town and we had a blast! I have been before and it is what it is, but it's fun! You can't be a Debbie Downer when you take people to see the show! You HAVE to partake and cheer-I think I lost my voice! The tickets weren't bad. We paid $270 for 8 adults and 2 children (I found a discount in the local clipper magazine). We were offered VIP and didn't take it but the server still asked us if we wanted to be in the show. If you've read the other reviews you know you have to get there early for appetizers etc. My one piece of advice is if there are any kids or non beer drinkers in the group, still turn the mug over so you get their beer! Just get them a soda in the lobby and use that cup for their soda cup, that's more grog for you..I'm just sayin! :) Have fun, cheer, and sing along!! What do you do with a drunken sailor...Hell, make a fool outta yourself! Those people will never see you again! more

Pleasantly Surprised and Same Value as Dinner and a Movie 1/25/2011

We read the reviews and were planning to go to Medieval Times instead but just couldn't spend the dough since our kids are just toddlers so the expense for a 3 yr olds entertainment wasn't worth it. We walked in expecting lousy food and a lame show but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was pretty good (we had the chicken) although the salad was pretty much just lettuce and ranch dressing. And the show was fun for all of us and the little ones were in a trance the whole time. We basically spent as much on this as we would to go to dinner and a movie for all 5 of us so definitely a good experience. more

ARRRGGGG!!! & I say that in a good way! 1/21/2011

Me and my family went to Pirates for dinner (02/16/2010). Our motive was for the entertainment. We have an 18 month old that we wanted to bring to see if it's something he'd enjoy AND BOY DID HE!! I saw the reviews before actually buying our tickets and it didn't scare me because how bad can it really be? It's for good 'ol family fun, not for a bunch of teenagers or young adults looking for a place to get smashed & go wild. The price is reasonable since it comes with so much: Pre-show w/appetizers going around (mini corn dogs, fruit, jalapeno poppers, bread w/meat & cheese, & mozzarella sticks). Plus, there are 2 bars for some libation action @ your cost of course. The pre-show was a great kicker-off-er and even so the baby enjoyed it so much! Next was the main stage event where dinner was served. We bought some swords & flags before we got seated. $4 a pop is not bad considering Disneyland and Knott's gear costs an arm and a leg these days! Dinner was alright. They don't claim to be 5-star & that's fine with me. Salad is salad, so that was yummy! The main course came with chicken and choice of shrimp or beef. There is also vegetarian options if you so choose. The chicken was good and fairly tender. The seasoning on it was just fine. I recommend the shrimp versus the beef. The beef wasn't very tender, while the shrimp/scallop combo was served in a better sauce (it worked well with the rice). The rice came with the shrimp & the potatoes came with the beef. An ideal combo would be the meat choices w/potatoes & rice. No veggies because it just tasted like it came from the freezer and was soggy. The meal wasn't all that bad. The entertainment totally makes up for it. I guess some people don't understand that the money you pay at the door pays for the staff, bills, and food. They also give you a ton of options as far as upgraded meals, party packages, photo ops, 2 shops, full bar- extra out of pocket but that's where they make some extra money. The three of us loved the show/fun ambiance and will be planning to come back with our WHOLE family next time around which will definitely be an even better experience! Pirate will set you back about $35 to $60 on either a child or adult ticket. Keep in mind that this isn't a dinner show in Hollywood or Vegas that costs more then a hundred dollars for each seat! So, don't expect to be knocked off your socks with pure utter amazement, BUT totally get a good bang for your buck! more

As cheesy as it was, I had a great time 1/21/2011

As cheesy as it was, I had a great time. A good excuse to act like a jackass. The food was decent and the service was good too. I am also a fan of Medieval Times. I like them both, but this place was a little more entertaining as far a action. There was a lot of acrobatics. They also involved the crowd a lot more than Medieval Times. They are both good for different reasons. Great family place. Or even to go with a group of friends. more

so fun 1/14/2011

This place was so fun the first time we decided to come back a year later with our boys! This time was a bit different - we did not really get a choice for food, so there was a half a chicken for each of us!!! Five of us!! ...Two 3 year olds, a 5 year old and my wife and I. Side note - we got """"to go"""" boxes and I have used them three nights in a row! Beware the prices for drinks and beware if you tip well - those nasty and wonderful drinks will kick your ass and your wallet! No regrets, though... We will be back again, as long as they are still there! PS. The security guy was great, although he wanted to show my wife his own pirate show, he was gracious and let me take some pictures when they were not allowed. more

Go have a great time! 1/12/2011

I've gone to this dinner/show twice in the pass few years and i am always content when leaving, Not sure if its because of the cash liquor bar though ..lol But never the less i have always had a great time. I recommend to show up 1 hour 1/2 before the show starts so you can watch the preview show and hit all the appetizer bars ( approximately 6- 8 of them) but we were a bit late so didnt get a chance to hit even one!.. Ohhh and dont forget the liquor bar!. Also join their pirate club a few days before you order the tickets so you can get some great discounts. The food is good, The service is great, The show is entertaining. Its a nice change to your ohhhh so regular dinner out. The only wondering question i still have is when i ordered the tickets over the phone, The girl who helped me said there was a additional $4.00 tip charge per ticket ,Thinking this was how the waiters and such gathered their tip money i had no problem with it, but at the end of the meal you are given a little card that encourages you to tip again!.. $5.00....what???. I felt it was worth paying a extra $10.00 a person to sit within the first 3 rows of the show but probably because i wasnt asked to hold my pirates flag. P.S It may confuse you at the end of the show when everyone starts singing the YMCA song.. Cause i dont get the connection to that and pirates either but i just figured it was a bonus round for all the drunk people who seemed to really enjoy it!..lol Either way, Its fun. So go have a great time! more

It was a great time!!! 1/10/2011

It's so fun 1/6/2011

My family and I went here for dinner during our vacation. It's so fun only if you get into it. My son loved it and was part of the show! more

It was silly AND fun! 1/5/2011

Welp, I decided that Pirates Adventure would be THE party destination for my 23rd bday... and boy was I right.. there were 10 of us in my group and they were more than accomodating for us.. they gave us a special 50% off price because it was my bday and they even gave everyone beads and flags for our designated tream.. I decided that it should be pirate dress up so you can imagine everybodies face when they saw 10 20+ year old all pirated out and drunk and making a scene.. but it def made the night. the food was good in my opinion.. i had the veggie lasagna and it was mmm delish.. all i could say the next day was i wish i could have had some more but i was tending to my drunken friend in the bathroom and they took my plate away.. only to return to some delish apple cobbler.. which i didnt eat much of either.. because i was too busy drinking my too much alcohol but DELISH long island ice tea.. THANKS SCOTT.. you hooked it uppp!!!! the pre show appitizers were fun because you get to mingle around and then the pre show is fun too because it gets everyone in the mood.. not to mention me and my friends were the loudest drunkest bunch in there.. but DAMN did we have sucha great time.. i cant honestly comment on the show because i wasnt sure if i was watching pirates of carribean, ninjas on parade.. or gymnastics... but all in all i was friggin drunk entertained had fun ate good food and loved our amazing server brennon.. brandon whatever.. he gave us like 7 mugs of beer each.. it was also the highlight of the night when the dudes in our group got to be involved int he show and like wave flags carry lanterns.. it was silly. and fun.. exactly what i expected. more

Incredibly interactive 1/3/2011

The best part: You won't go home hungry. Show up right at 5:30 (or before) on a weeknight in order to take advantage of the appetizers and pre-show. Last night's appetizers included veggie sticks, fruit, crab salad, meatballs, chicken wings, cheese/crackers/cold cuts and pasta. Dinner was chicken and beef or chicken and shrimp/scallop, with rice and veggies on the side. Dessert was an peach cobbler with ice cream and coffee. Your dinner comes with unlimited soda or water, or 2 beers, or 2 glasses of wine. After the show, they had a table with coffee and cake in the lobby. Crazy! My friends and I were so stuffed after eating all that food that we were almost sick. None of the food was the greatest tasting food ever, but I've had much worse. It was about Costco quality for appetizers and maybe Sizzler quality for dinner. The show itself was incredibly interactive. If you have kids, definitely bring them with you. They'll have a great time. And don't be shy about volunteering for stuff! It's so much fun! The show itself has a lot of action and some Cirque du Soleil-esque entertainment. There is also a cheesy romance and family drama plot. In addition, there's singing and dancing (some of it intentionally very bad). We only paid $20.09 for our tickets last night and I totally thought it was worth the price. (Btw - the $20.09 promo is for January 2009 only. Mention the code """"2009"""" when you book.) They recommend tipping your server $5 per person. I'd definitely recommend this over Medieval Times. There was more food and the show was so much more entertaining. Oh - and most importantly - the drinks were cheaper! They still weren't cheap, but it wasn't too bad. And my drink, a Gypsy Juice with Stoli Peach, lemonade and rasberry liquer, was yummy. And ginormous. Yes, I'd go back. I'd go back next week if I only paid $20.09 again. But if I had a fun group of people to go with, who appreciate pirate humor, I'd go back with just a $4 off coupon. It was that much fun! more

The food was great! 12/30/2010

This place is smaller than medieval times! so i'm sure, it gets sold out pretty quick. I was celebrating my friend's birthday! and we bought the lots o' loot package which included, flags, beads, bandanna and a slice of cake. The food was great! i think the ribs were better than the chicken though. The desert was warm apple pie topped with cold ice cream, was delicious! The cake was good as well. overall, the show included a lot of singing and dancing, some audience interaction but not like medieval times. Just don't expect too much and have fun! more

Planning to go again 12/29/2010

This place was cool, I took my wife and son. We had a great time, I cant complain about anything cause I came out of there stuffed. My son got to be part of the show and the appetizers where great. Im already planning to go again but with a bigger group.\r more

If you haven't been yet, you should go 12/24/2010

This place is great i went there a couple years ago for my b-day great time good food then while i was working at another bar i met the managers from pirates and got a job doing security i got to meet all the pirates and people in the show great people and a great place to work as a second job but i got all the songs stuck in my head at work and they drove me nuts. also go to eat for free on out breaks after a while i got tired of the food but it was still good. if you havn't been yet you should go and have a great time more

i had a great time 12/22/2010

you gotta get in the right mindset if you're headed here. it's not going to be cheap, fun stuff never is. it's going to be cheesy, most places that appeal to all ages are.\r \r i had a great time, but perhaps my attitude and company created that. more

Great times at Pirate's Dinner Adventure 12/17/2010

I liked this place. The food and the acting was so-so but the experience was great. C'mon if you arrrive early they serve appetizers, they had pasta salad, ravioli, garlic bread, cheeses, deli meats, shrimp coctail, and mixed fruits...Does Medieval Times do this?...NO...The beer came flowing at no extra charge, I had a very nice waiter who would refill my glass everytime it was empty. Its a freaking musical so my girlfriend liked it a plus there. If you have young kids they'll love this place. The show didn't have enough sword fighting tho and there is a lot of obstructed views:(. Another plus about my experience is that I didn't pay full price, I bought my tickets through a website and only paid $29.13 per dinner. The chicken and seafood was OK, we didn't try the beef. The cobbler and ice cream was pretty darn good. The place even served chocolate cake after the show and had a dance floor for dem drunk shipmates. Hell this show even was interactive for most , I was even involved in part of the show. Great times at Pirate's Dinner Adventure I will do this again. more

We love the show and the food 12/15/2010

My wife and I both loved the show and the food. It was a lot of fun especially for someone like me who is getting into Pirates. Kudos to all that put the experience together. This was our second visit and we are still impressed with the choreogrphy of the fighting and swordsmanship. The interaction of the audience is great especially bringing adults and chldren into the show. Our only problem is that the area in which the preshow is done is very crowded becuase of gift shop and bar are all close together. Would be nice if in the future more space is given to accomadate all. Otherwise great, we recomend it to adults and children both, especially if the adults want to bring out the inner child. more

I had such a good time 12/13/2010

After reading the ruthless reviews for this place, I almost wanted to return my tickets...but I'm glad I didn't!!!! First things first, the food. Ok, the food is just ok, but it's not as terrible as people are describing it. I had the chicken and shrimp. Chicken was very moist but the scallops in the shrimp tasted like they were not thawed in time (understandable). The rice that came with the chicken was good. I believe it was cooked in chicken broth. No one in my party was complaning about the food so I guess that's a plus! Right when you arrive, there are staff walking around with trays of appetizers. There were also carts of HOT food in random areas in the place. The appetizers are very good. Oh, they had a salad but it was just a plain salad. The dessert was good; apple pie and ice cream! YUM! As for drinks, you can order as much as you want and they even bring a pitcher just for you. They also offer coffee with your ice cream. I feel kind of bad for the waiters/waitresses because there's only one 2 waiters per section and each section accomodates at least 30 people. T_T With that said, our service was pretty good. At the end, you are presented with a bill that you are not required to pay. $5 tip per adult and $3 per child. Of course we gave our waitress tips! She worked hard that night! The couple next to us did not bother to put anything, which is rather sad. They were vegetarian and so they couldn't eat anything off the menu so they kept making the waitress run back and forth to the kitchen to bring out their 'correct' order. Price- I'm sure they charge $50 per person is so that they can pay for the actors, waiters, and everything else. Not everyone needs to pay $50 though, I went on the internet and found some good deals. Just call them and tell them the code and the person will tell you if it's honorable or not. I paid a total of $121 for 4 people and I totally thought it was worth it! We are 20 year olds just looking for some innocent but exciting fun. Acting- These pirates work really hard to make everyone happy. THey are entertaining and very funny. Most of the pirates are pretty attractive too :D. Singing while having to run and jump on stage is pretty impressive. The storyline was cheesy but HEY it's all good. The female pirate named Treasure has a very powerful and beautiful voice. I think she should come out with her own album. Anyway, so right when you enter the show area, your pirate (assigned color) will go to random people and choose them to be part of the show. I was praying that I did not get chosen (read somewhere that you volunteer so I was breathing a sigh of relief because I didn't have to participate) but with my luck, I got chosen. I was very hesistant about it but my pirate (GO RED!) convinced me. Our color won and we got mardi gras beads without having to flash anyone. All in all, it was a very good night. If you have little ones, be sure to bring them because they will get to be part of the show in the end! Adults will have fun too if they aren't Debby Downers. My friends and I had so much fun that we are planning on going again soon. Some of you may be thinking that I am crazy for rating this place 5 stars but I really did have fun. I'm not reviewing this place for it's food, but more for the hard workers who make sure everyone has a good time. Everyone is extremely friendly (except the lady who was on the phone) and the actors/actresses were marvelous. I came here knowing that it wasn't going to be some broadway musical with gourmet food and maybe that's why I had fun and didn't rate this place 2 stars. more

Pleasantly Surprised 7/5/2010

We read a lot of these reviews so our expectations were really low but we couldn't stomach paying for Medieval Times to entertain 2 toddlers. We expected lousy food and a lame show but actually the food was pretty good (although the salad was just lettuce and ranch I think) and the show was what you might expect...lots of hammy humor and overacting. The value was good too. Basically the same as dinner and a movie for the 5 of us. We would recommend this to friends for sure. Pros: food, entertainment, value (same as dinner and a movie) Cons: had to pay for souvenir glass for a mai tai more

Greatest Stunt show I have ever seen 7/4/2007

I have been to this show three times already and it still amazes me how I can be suprised and enjoy it every single time. If I ever go back again, I am sure that I would be even more amazed than I am now. The food were delicious, the desert was awesome, and the servers were great. Even moreso, the actual show itself was amazing. Right from the very start, there were pirates running around, jumping, climbing, doing stunts that kept me watching the whole entire time. I can only imagine how much time and effort has been to make this show operate. The actors and actresses sang fantastically. It was romantic, adventurous, exciting; just like what I expected a pirates show would be. And seeing my little cousin go up the stage was an experience I will never forget. The sight of him with the other children laughing onstage with the pirate captain was too adorable. If I had to complain about anything, it would be of the salad that was already on the tables when we came in. I didn't approve of it at all. I would rather that the salads were handed to us after we had already sat. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this attraction to anyone who happens to be passing by the Anaheim Area. Pros: The stunts were great and the food were awesome. Cons: The parking were a little cramped, and the salad should not be on the table before we sit down. more
