Called today to set up new service with this rude company . the rep that answered my call was very argumentitive with any question that i asked . without running my credit , i was told i had to pay a 275.00 deposit ! Its a shame that we allow companies to treat customers this way ! Dont undersatnd why they are the ONLY provider for this area . All i can say is , THINK TWICE before choosing this company ! more

Disrespectful Company 9/22/2011

Your call center Supervisor Sylvia Perez is very rude, disrespectful and said ""It does not matter what you think, we are the only people who can give you power so you can sit in the dark for all I care"". Good customer service PEC. I can see why Pedernales has had so many lawsuits...obviously they are nothing but crooks who work for them and this is why former people from there go to Prison for ripping off customers. more

Customer service rep couldn't care less 8/27/2011

Rude rude rude. Spoke to a customer service rep Friday afternoon on 8/26, and not only did she sound like she couldn?t give a rat?s behind about my concern, but she also sounded like she couldn?t WAIT to get the hell off of work. Absolutely amazes me for someone in a customer `care? position to have her attitude. But Pedernales is the only electric company there is, so it?s not like we can switch to another provider if we get CRAPPY customer service. She should thank her lucky stars she has a job. And unfortunately I did not get her name. But I definitely will be asking next time. more

WORST SERVICE / RIP OFF 3/21/2011

Well I called to get my service connected and they said I have to pay a 275.00 deposit...what compnaines do that to people that are just trying to make ends meat..Horrible so I tried to go with Atmos Engery and they said I couldn't.. the only service I can have is Pedernales... I feel so stuck.....and broke...This place is such a rip off...I thought Califonia was bad...but nope way better sevices and cheaper.....The only thing I hate about Texas...the utilies are wqayyyy toooo much! more

If you can avoid having this company as your service provider do it! Although that means you can not live in the Cedar Park area. They are unhelpful when you need something and charge fees to have the luxury of having them. A bunch of crooks. more

Most Ridiculous ""Customer Service"" Ever 12/14/2010

Wow, too bad you can't give zero stars. The worst customer service experience I've had in a long time. For a company that charges SO many outrageous fees you'd think they could train their staff more thoroughly. This company is so focused on themselves and have no skills in helping the customer. It really bothers me that they are the only electric company available as I would NEVER chose them if I had a choice. If there were any other company I could use I would've switched as soon as got off of the phone. Even the supervisor ""Joy"" was useless. more

Avoid PEC like the plague! 11/15/2010

This is the worst electric company I've ever known! I had an account with them in June 2010. I didn't move into the apartment, so I stopped my service of about 2 days. I've found a new apartment in Cedar Park, and a need to re-establish service with Pedernales, since it's the only electric company my complex uses. I was told that even with my account in good standing, I would have to pay a new deposit fee of $150, and non-refundable $75, and a $50 membership fee! In addition there's a percentage fee based on address! I will have to nearly pay $280 just to start electricity! I matters not that my past account from less than 6 months ago is in good standing, and that it's less than a year old! I get no credit for the last account, and I have to start a new account! Nothing is waived, reduced or applied! The start up fee is nearly half of my rent! I was told by customer service that the $150 deposit is new, starting November 1, 2010; how lucky for me! This is the only electric company in Cedar Park, and it's a monopoly! Avoid renting here, you'll be ripped off by this company! more

Please Help My Mom 9/30/2010

My mother let PEC know about a power surge a few months ago and just this past weekend a major power surge occurred, cause damage to the cable tv, internet, computer, lights, etc... She was even shocked while taking a shower. I witnessed two power surges. more

monopoly on power 8/19/2008

perdanales charges good customers a $75.00 transfer fee whene moving to a new adress. come to think of it, it appears that since they have a monopoly on the cedar park area, they can afford to charge what ever they want and provide poor customer service and still get all the biusness they want. more
