Best

the Pavilion movie theater started on a rough edge... BUT in April, the theater became a miracle. It became cleaner advanced and VERY unique with the imax screen including new CLE...

Worst

Since the Pavilion on Flatbush underwent renovations, I generally head to the Southwest end of Prospect Park if I'm aching for B-movie satisfaction. The Pavilion (which is cattyco...

Worst experience I have had in a theatre 5/14/2007

This theatre allows adults to bring infants into movies where they scream and carry on the whole time. You could get out if you were able to remove your feet from the gunky, sticky floor full of soda and candy. A brown crawling thing which I am not allowed to ""name"" on herewas crawling up the chair in front of us and the theatre was so small, my living room would have been bigger. DONT waste your money, head for the UA more

What a missed opportunity! 5/3/2007

The theatre is historic and has a lot of potential; however, the auditorium I was in had seat backs and arm rests missing and the staff wasn't inviting. I much prefer the United Artists on Court Street in downtown Brooklyn, worth the extra 20 minutes on the train. Pros: Location Cons: Theatre condition more

A horrific theatre! 4/15/2007

I don't know why we keep going back to this theatre (only cause its close), it just gets worse every time. Today we bought tikts for show in theatre #5, which was not only tiny (less 6 than a hundred seats) but was leaking in the middle of the theatre. Mgmt dealt with the problem by roping off the area & seats on which the water was dripping. Mgr was happy to give us a refund or oppty to see another movie there, but when we asked about Meet the Robinsons in 3-D, he had the nerve to tell us we had to pay $2 for each pair (which they was their normal charge)! Talk about awful, we don't care about the customer service! Never again. Pros: movie selection Cons: everything but movies more

Save your money!!!! 3/29/2007

This is the worst place to go see a movie.. You have the manger on shift touching the employees in and inapproiate matter. While you watch the moive there are vermen running up and down in the theather. The Concession Staff dont look like the even want to help anyone. They stand there and talk before asking anyone if they need help. I been here many times before and it doenst seem to get any better.. The last time i came to see a movie the Manager by the name of Lauren didnt seem to care about the problems i was talking to her about. The ushers sent me to the wrong theather twice. They cant even start the movies on time. The movie was supposed to start at 7:15, the film didnt start unil 7:32. I think they need to get it together over there.. Save your money and get what you paid for. more

Pavilion Park Slope 10/20/2006

Date: Oct. 21, 2006...after attending a nice Lunch next door to the movie theater I enter the movie to be welcome by talking movie goers through the movie... I exit to compliant to the manager and was treated as if I was the one in the wrong. When I complained it went unheated. It went even to the point that I was laughed at by the manager and staff. I realizes that most young movie goers are close friends to the staff members and really don't care about their behavior in the theater. I really enjoy the restaurant next door before a movie ..but as it stands at this point Lunch will be the only thing I will enjoy...save your money and don't attend this theater if necessary. Pros: close to home Cons: talking movie goers through the movie... Unprofessional staff more

ignorant managers, staff even dumber 7/18/2006

Park slope pavilion is the worse movie theater in NYC. I felt in danger the last time I was there in March. Satff and patrons do what ever they want including talk loudly throughout the entire movie. I complained to an usher and he actually laughed at me. The concession people were obviuosly stealing. A concession girl did not ring up my order but took the cash (in front of a manager who said nothing.) more

Used to be a gem 1/13/2006

But not anymore. The "living room" caffe is closed and have been replaced by a standard popcorn section. The movie I saw was showing on the third floor - the room smelled of the burned plastic, was extremely hot. The last few rows of the seating are on the same level and provide an obstracted view. more

Worst movie experience ever 1/6/2006

I went to see King Kong on Christmas. I should have asked for my money back after the counter staff was rude to me. Then the audience itself was the most disrespectful, selfish, and unreasonable people I've ever had the misfortune to be around. Who would bring their very small child to a film in which human beings are torn apart by wild animals? Only people who feel absolutely no shame in talking LOUDLY throughout the film. The manager was no help. The seats might be comfy, but save your money and always go elsewhere. Oh, and Merry XMAS Pavilion! Pros: Location Cons: Management, Audience, Staff more

Little Theater of Horror 4/17/2003

Somehow we always end up at this theater even though it is certainly the worst theater ever. The staff is usually rude and not helpful. And can the screens be any smaller? I mean, really, I could stay at home and watch my 27"" TV and get the same feeling I do when I'm at the Pavillion - minus the screaming unaccompanied children. The only good thing about this theater is its proximity to home. Something must be done about this terrible situation. Well, we're off to the Pavillion for another movie....uggghhh! Pros: location, seats (very comfy), good butter flavoring Cons: screens are small, very few indies, no movies after 10 more

Nice Theater, Iffy Audience 11/18/2002

I really don't see what people would find wrong with the actual theater, the plush purple seats are great, the sound system is fine, and I don't find anything wrong with the staff. And the selection is usually great, mostly big movies but also the odd indie release, like 'Big Fat Greek...' and 'Monsoon Wedding'. The only thing that ruins my experience from time to time is the audience. NEVER go to a late night showing here, because it will be full of people bringing their toddlers and talking on cell phones. Afternoon showings are much more enjoyable. Pros: Seating, Selection, Location Cons: Night Audiences more
