Parrillada Las Vacas Gordas

I always order to pick up @ las vacas gordas trying to follow the good advices about its poor service, but I said why not go there? MAYBE they have improved its service, NOT! I tried them yesterday and believe me all this comments about its poor service, and that they rip you off are totally true! We were a party of 8 and when I order drinks for everybody I speciffically told the waitress that we need just 1 bottle of water, and from nothing they came with 8 open bottles of water and they charged us $18 dollars for that mistake. I ask for 2 sangrias, and then a guy from nowhere ask if we wanted more we said no maybe later we'll see, from nowhere they start serving more sangria, that we thought where from the one that we have left but no they charge me for that also. After I saw the bill, I realized why they were offering us more drinks and more food, they have the tip included. Don't try to point out their mistakes, they are so rude that make you desire to do not go there ever. Honestly I wouldn't give any tip to the waiters there, they don't know anything about good service and manners. more

Let me start by saying that never have I ever been treated with such disregard at a restaurant in my life. And I?ve traveled to London, Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Atlanta, Jamaica, etc. and no one at a restaurant had ever disrespected me or my companions like Las Vacas Gordas did last Saturday night. First, it took them at least 20 minutes to put a simple piece of bread on our plate. Then we had to ask and keep waiting for water. When the bus-boy came with the water he laid the damn pitcher on the table instead of pouring it into our glasses. I should have seen the signs and left but my buddies visiting (from NYC and Toronto) wanted Argentinean steak, so we I stayed. When we finally put our order in we then waited nearly an hour-and-a-half for our food to arrive. Meanwhile, I saw one of the cooks eating as he prepared the food?since the kitchen is visible?disgusting! I then got up and asked for the manager, only to be led to the grand bitch of them all, GABRIELA. She didn?t apologize for the lack of good service or even acknowledge that there was a problem. She Fking ignored us the whole time. After our food finally came the bitch GABRIELA didn?t come back to the table and ask if everything was alright or if we needed anything else. She came outside, where we were seated, and didn?t even look our way. (Note to GABRIELA) If you DO NOT know how to service customers then why are you in the customer serving business? If this were NYC, or any where else for that matter, she?d have no damn job. I will NEVER go to Las Vacas Gordas again. And I am embarrassed that I brought my friends to a place where they were exposed to such negative behavior. You know the place is bad when a bus-boy says, ?next time you should go to The Knife in Bayside.? I mean, when your own staff is suggesting to your customers that you should go to another Argentinean steakhouse then you know there?s a real problem. Trust me, I know a lot of people since working in the entertainment industry and I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. As a matter of fact I will say, ?stay far away!? One of the (Colombian) boys working there apologized profusely, saying, ?Sorry it?s their culture.? Meaning, all Argentineans treat guests like crap. Oh, really? Well, guess what Las Vacas Gordas? I was hesitant when my husband wanted to go here?he remembered this place from 5 years ago and I read reviews stating the service was ?terrible??well I had to write because this place was great. The service, wine selection and atmosphere was outstanding. It was reasonably priced and the meat was done to perfection. A little GEM! And off the beaten path of south beach but well worth it?music was set at a perfect level and the staff didn?t rush you to eat, it was relaxed I would certainly return. Pros: The service, wine and food - very impressive! more

I am a meat lover and I have to say their skirt steak is great I think think It was going to be so huge it was rolled in one huge circle and it could feed like 5, Really its that big, I had lots of left overs, but they have very limited weitors so when he/she arives the first time make sure you order everything. You might not see him for a while since their so bussy. more

It was by far the worst experience I've had. The food took a very long time to arrive, we only saw our waiter once; I asked for more water and it was never brought. After asking for the check and waiting over 20 minutes; I finally had to chase the waiter and handed him my credit card so that he could charge. The whole experience was aweful!!!! I will never go back and I will never recommend this restaurant. more

My fiance is from Argentina and we wanted to try this place. The food was average. The service was awful. They served us an appetizer that we didn't order and insisted that we ordered it. Then they served me the meat ravioli when I ordered the spinach ravioli and I specifically told them I don't want meat. They included an outrageous gratuity as well. Ridiculously loud music, bad service (waiter was never to be found) 2 steaks had to be returned because they were well done instead of rare / medium.\r But the best part: When we tried to order a second bottle of a $30 wine, the owner himself asked us if we would be "ready for something special". He started raving about this amazing wine he just got and told us we should not miss the opportunity to taste this excellent drop....blah, blah. I have been eating at Las Vacas Gordas for over 10 years. Las Vacas Gordas consistently delivers great steaks in massive portions at reasonable prices. The Enrollada being the most popular (it could feed 4). The sides are nothing spectacular but good enough to complement the center piece of the feast, the steak. The wine list is more than sufficient, but nothing that will get written up in a NY Times review. The ambiance is energetic. It can almost be raucous on certain evenings. All of the waiters/waitresses are inexperienced and the serving of food and beverages to your table has more in common with the roller skate girls that ferreted cheeseburgers, fries and milkshakes to car windows at 1950s burger joints than the service one would expect at an Argentinian steak house. For all its shortcomings, Las Vacas Gordas makes no apologies. Instead, night after night, it delivers on its simple but addicting promise, big delicious steaks at a reasonable price in a festive atmosphere. more

The food isn't the best in town...but you can say that is ok...But the service they really need to do something about it...I've been there a couple times and every time i went i really had a hard time with the service. Pros: good meat Cons: expensive ...awful service more

Ok so i've been eating in this restaurant for 4 years now, it's the best meat in town. i used to hate the fact that the soda cost 3 bucks for only 8 oz + the fact that if u wanna share a plate, you have to pay 5 bucks also. but it was OK because the meat was very affordable and good. BUT i went there yesterday, and they need more money to pay the improvement they made in the restaurant. 5 dol more per plate!!! i used to pay 17 dol my enrollada, now it's 22!!!! The service sucks, the music is awful. Don't go there except if u have a lot of money and u don't wanna cook ur meat alone Pros: Good Meat but way over rated Cons: Very expensive, Bad service.. more

Let me begin by saying that I normally don't write reviews. However, this place was so awful I couldn't resist. First, the service is terrible and they are understaffed. Second, be prepared to sit there all night waiting for your food. Third, when the food finally came the chicken was cold, the steak tasted like rubber and the side dishes were boring and bland. But that isn't even the best part. As we were leaving, we saw our prick of a waiter run out to the parking lot after an old man and his wife in their car. I saw them sitting at their table as long as us without getting their food. They happened to walk out after experiencing the same crap service as us. What did this waiter do? He started pounding the guys car w his fist. We went back in to tell the owner. The owner didn't see anything wrong w this behavior bc this guy and his wife didn't pay for thier glass of wine. Oh, and I almost forgot, I felt like I was eating dinner in the middle of a night club. The music was unnecessarily and obnoxiously loud, even after we asked them to lower it. And they even pumped smoke into the room w smoke machines for some stupid reason. Seriously! Is that supposed to be cool? What a waste of tome and money. more

I must say that this is one the best restaurant i have been in miami ..... and now that is remodeled, EVEN BETTER!!! ....... Pros: great food and wines more

To be honest the food wasn't bad but the horrible service with obnoxious people masked any decent thing I can say about this place. more
