Food looked amazing, with interesting desserts I have not seen elsewhere. There were many people waiting with no place to sit. We were eventually able to get a bottle of wine while we were waiting to be seated. When my wife complained that some people were seated before us whom arrived after, the owner yelled at her that he was offended at the suggestion and could not create seats just for her. ""If you do not like it, go somewhere else"". I was amazed to discover that it was the owner of the establishment that was one of the rudest people I had ever seen! Eat there on 12/29/02 my wife does not eat steak so she ordered three dishes plus a bottle of wine. When we received the bill we were charges a $3.00 sharing charge because I ordered the skirt streak. When we bought this to the owners attention we were told if we don't like it don't come back. We won't. more

You can either sit inside in an unflattering blue light or sit outside inhaling exhaust fumes. The pasta dishes were uninspired and way too salty. The steak was ok, but compared to Los Ranchos...... more

I thought this place was awesome. Great food, great ambiance and the service was excellent. Be prepared to ""PIG OUT"" the portions are huge and definitely leave a space for their dessert. My wife and I eagerly went to Las Vacas Gordas. The food was fantastic. The portions were huge. The service was so nasty and distant I can't say enough about it. Plates were slammed on our table, questions about the food ignored (my wife is fluent in Spanish and from Uruguay - this did not help) What a shame that such great food is served by such nasty Argentinians !! - This presents a real quandry as far as a return trip. The steaks are delicious, the portions huge, and the prices very LOW! Small place so you may have to wait but it is well worth it for the food. The best is La Enrollada for your meal, a grilled red pepper and grilled provolone cheese as sides and finish with the crepes in rum caramel sauce which they light on fire. The food so far has been great every time I've been there, never had pasta there though. It's my favorite steak place in Miami, very casual, fun, unlike other people I've always had great service by every wait staff that has ever served me. The place is small and it is a business after all, so I don't mind one bit the fact that you're in a bit of a hurry if it's busy or if I have to share a table even. It's all part of the experience. Stay after 9pm and watch the smoke, the music and the tacky disco ball go in action ;) it's all good... to each its own I suppose, this place is different, fun, has great food and it's cheap. My wife had pasta for dinner , the sauce was thin and taste like a milk and pasta.The owner took off the pasta from the bill and told us not to come anymore at Las Vacas GOrdas !
