el servicio es muy malo las mesas muy pequenas y todas rotas hay que esperar mucho para que traigan la comida y el foodrunner parece que esta perdido viene con la comida a la mesa y no sabe ni lo que tiene. el dueno es un come mierda trata mal a los empleados y les roba la propina. gracias a eso tiene un empingado carro en la puerta. more

Viernes por la tarde reunion con amigos en las Vacas gordas Asado y un buen vino lo encontre en este lugar me siento satisfecho. disfruto de la conversacion y buen humor de tres amigos, No soy de los que postea cosas pero realmente el lugar se lo merece la atencion de las chicas fue espledida y la carne la mejor . Terrible and overpriced!! 6/16/2008

I believe ""Las Vacas Gordas"" restaurant should borrow off the philosophy of ""Less can be more."" The portions were large, but terrible!! The ""Enrollado steak"" which is basically Skirt Steak, was the better prepared steak they had on the menu. However, if anyone has ever cooked Skirt Steak, they know that it really does not take much to cook a great tasting Skirt Steak other than not burning it. The NY Steak (Bife de Chorizo) was 75% fatty and poorly cooked. The french fries were soggy and so on...I remember when I firts lunched at last Vacas, back in 2001 the service was terrible, but the food was great. If I were the owner, I would try to find a happy medium between quality, good service and sizeable portions. Huge is not necessarily good when it tastes like cr$%p! more

Worst Service in the WORLD! You will be splattered with raw meat juice and flicked with food from the server. 5/19/2008

I was there this past weekend. My parents go there regularly being that my dad is from Buenos Aires, he loves a good steak. I will start by telling you that if you have to eat a sandwich you will be splattered with raw meat juices because you have to sit at the bar. The man was slicing steak and slapping it and everytime he did that, juices would fly over to our plates. None of the servers wore a hairnet. They were flipping hair everywhere. One girl was eating and stuck her finger in her mouth then looked at her finger to see what she found and then flicked off the food she found and then rang up a guest check. The man cutting the meat was walking back and forth from kitchen to the grill with raw meat in his hands and not washing them once. The food was not at all good either. The food is great, yes! The sangria is very good, yes! The chorizo is tender, yes! Pros: Food is great. Cons: Don't be fooled and order wisely; if you don't , a simple lunch will turn out to $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids. more

Fabulous food, unique atmosphere, a MUST try! 5/8/2007

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. You get caught up the Argentinian flair of the place - the music, the waitresses, the food, the wine and the general atmosphere. My husband and I have tried almost everything on the menu and no matter what we order, the food is always juicy and delicious. Whenever we have guests from out of town, we bring them here and out of all the restaurants they go to, they always want to come back to Las Vacas. Make sure to order a beautiful bottle of Malbec to start and don't leave without trying their famous ""flaming"" dessert. Be patient with the service, it's worth it!!!!! I don't want to hear about how good this place is anymore. The term customer service DOES NOT apply here. I can deal with dumb people, but when you have no common sense I lose it. NO ONE that works at this place has it. It was an utter waste of time even going there. The food is marginal at best. Especially when you can buy the same cut of beef at Publix for $1.99. Great when not crowded 7/31/2005

I went this place at 6 p.m., and there were few guests there. We were not annoyed with slow service that other reviewers mentioned. The rolled steak was really amazing, whereas spagetti was average. We ordered a crepe with icecream (I forgot the name of that), which was fantastic. Overall we are satisfied. more

What's so great about it? 3/9/2005

I heard a lot of great things about this place before trying it. The service is very slow. The steak is good, but nothing to brag about. The spaghetti was extremely bland and for $10 I could have made my own and it would have a lot more flavor. When we asked for the check we waited about ten minutes asking several times for it. I think this place is way overrated. And I can't believe reading the other reviews that the owner had the nerve to tell people not to come back. Attitude a la Carte 6/3/2004

This little dive in North Beach has potential but the overcrowded conditions & poor placement are only rivaled by the absurd arrogance of the predominantly Argentine restaurant staff. Someone apparently explained to them that the tip is included so they don't really ""have to"" provide service. The best option in take out where you can provide your own ambience sometimes at a fraction of the price. My last visit it took the food ages to arrive & even longer to hunt down our server for the check - it was my LAST visit. ""De gustabus non disbutandum"" - This is no accounting for taste. What makes this little North Beach dive popular is beyond me. As a previous reviewer indicated, you have your choice of a few small cramped tables inside or dining to the accompanyment of exhaust emitting tarffic on heavily traveled Normandy Dr (71st Street) on some unstable tables outside. The steaks were mediocre at best served bare on a small plate. Any salad, vegetable or other side is extra.
