Unprofessional and rude, scam art, Complete waist of time, i called them 3 times to double check the price as per their add on craigslist for $199 inc installation, they assured me they have it in stock and it is that price, even made an appointment and tripled checked the price, explained to them that its a 2 hour drive for me there, got there and they said $299, and no they are not gono honor their own add, i would never recommend any one here, scam artists. more

The guys that work here seem like they have it together and would do stellar work. Unfortunately, the owner treated me with contempt and utter disrespect. He was condescending, not only to me but his entire staff. Perhaps this wasn't his usual manner, but nothing justifies the offensive regard with which I was treated.\r \r He implied that his having ""lots of money"" (direct quote) somehow justified his abrasive demeanor. I've done OK for myself, but I'm not sure why how much money either of us has is a justification for such poor behavior.\r \r Eventually (after a brief wait to talk to the installation tech and ensure my order went as desired) I decided to take my business elsewhere. He won't miss my business ('cuz, you know - he's got plenty of money and doesn't seem to need mine). And I wont miss the additional time I could have spent in his shop.\r \r I feel for his employees and hope they all find gainful employment elsewhere - soon. Although their quote was a bit better than I'd gotten elsewhere, it wasn't enough of a difference to justify being treated like that. more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! 12/5/2011

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! Was doing burnouts in my $60k car when I arrived. Did not fire the employee. Was hitting the rev limiter and tires/trans were hot. Smelled like clutch. Ripped me off. Told me I needed some module when I did not. When I asked to see the module they told me they had to "make" it. Said it would take 2 hours to install alarm. It took over 6 hours. Scratches all over my fender and said it was because my car was "dirty". The immediately blamed it on the dirt as if they had that excuse prepared. Gave me the "I came here from another country with $1000" speech. I dont care. Was extremely rude when I paid with credit card even after they screwed me over. Extremely rude to my girlfriend. Does not know how to run a business and should be shut down immediately. Seriously this is a very short summary. I usually do own work on my car but decided to give these guys a chance. DO NOT GO HERE. PENDING LAWSUIT Hopefully this business isn't around when you are reading this. more

Great Service 8/24/2011

***READ THIS IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON GETTING A STEREO SYSTEM*** BEST CAR AUDIO SHOP in Los Angles!!!!!!!!! 5/5 INSTALLATIONS 5/5 PRICES To start off, I have tried several shops in Los Angeles. You name them, and I have visited them at-least once to check out their prices. I had my previous car done by other places in L.A, and each place I visited either had over-priced products, their installation was horrible, or they had 16 year old kids installing their products. PACIFIC CAR STEREO has been the BEST shop by far. You might get cheaper prices other places, but the installation these guys do is AMAZING. I started going here two years ago, and I have not gone anywhere else since. Whether you are looking for some upgraded speakers, or a high end audio install, these guys are for you. I started building my system two years ago. (ENTRY LEVEL STEREO) FIRST VISIT: (2009) The first time I went, I had just bought an 04 corolla with stock speakers, and one of them was blown. They installed a bran new Alpine ida-x305, Alpine type R components in the front, Alpine type r 6x9 in the rear, and an Mrp-f300 amp. I loved that they used good gauge wiring and good RCA cables that will last a long time. They also custom installed the type r tweeters in the A pillars of my car (wiring nicely hidden). Everything still looked stock, the mrp-f300 was nicely hidden under my seat. The price for everything they did was a BARGAIN. They gave me a great deal even though I paid with credit. (BASS) SECOND VISIT: (early 20010) The next time I went, I wanted to add BASS to my system since I already had good mids and highs from the type r speakers. They gave me a great price again for a nice Orion 1200D (GREAT AMP) and a JL 13W7. I asked for a custom box for the 13W7, and they catered to my needs. I left the car for a few days and when I came back they did the install EXACTLY how I had asked. They used good 4gauge wire, not the crappy stuff that other installers use in L.A. All I could say was WOW, the bass was so intense in the car from this little 13 inch sub-woofer it was amazing. They even Dynamated my trunk lid to stop the rattling (ask for this if you are planning on installing bass into your car, makes a HUGE difference in rattles and will help you from getting noise tickets since it stops the rattling and keeps all the bass INSIDE the cabin) THIRD VISIT: (8/23/11) I just picked up my car today after I went and asked for some more mids and highs for my car since the 13w7 produced more than enough bass, I wanted to balance the system. I bought an mrp-f600 to match the f300 I bought almost two years before, and TWO more pairs of type-r components. I asked for the components to exactly match the front ones I bought two years ago, and they gladly did that for me. The installers built a custom box behind my seats to house these two pairs, and they nicely hid the mrp-f600 underneath my passenger seat. This system is now extremely clear and loud at all volumes. They set the g more

11 FILED COMPLAINTS UNDER BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU 8/14/2011

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!! I wish I could give this place zero stars, but unfortunately this is the lowest I could give. We have a beautiful performance car and take great pride in keeping it that way. After purchasing a top dollar alarm system online, we wanted to find a trustworthy and reliable place in LA for the install. Unfortunately, this was NOT the place. First of all, we were told that the install would take about 1.5- 2 hours to complete. We waited...and waited....and waited some more. After three phone calls in to them, we were told that the car was finished (5 hours later) and we told them we would be on our way to pick it up. As we pulled into the front driveway off of Sepulveda, we could hear the sound of his car engine being revved and peeling out, but the car was nowhere to be found. We RAN around back to find our car. It wasn't there. We ran into the front office, and furiously told the owner that we can HEAR someone driving his car, and he needs to get it back here IMMEDIATELY...that he ABSOLUTELY CANNOT DRIVE HIS CAR LIKE THIS. First of all, it was an alarm install...THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON THAT THE CAR SHOULD LEAVE THE LOT AT ANY POINT IN TIME. Do you need to drive a car in order to check the alarm system? NO!!!! The kid comes back with the car and a huge smile on his face, hands the key over to the owner and says ""sorry"" while walking by...I LOST it. In an outrage, my boyfriend and I went off on the guy and told him that that is completely disrespectful to drive employees cars like that, and were interrupted by the smell of burnt rubber. We went outside to look at the car, and spoke with the owner. After lots of profanity and exchanged words, we left the shop paying $150 for a service we should have gotten for free. The owner kept making excuses for his employee, saying that this was THE SECOND TIME he had reprimanded this employee, and the NEXT time he did that he would be fired. My boyfriend and I lost it once again, saying that he should NEVER allow an employee to treat customers' cars that way, simply for the possibility of what COULD happen if he is recklessly driving like that. We asked the employee exactly WHERE he took the car, and he said he had taken it down a back alley. We could hear him revving the engine and peeling out from the front of the store, which should NOT be heard from a back alley near an extremely busy street. Since bringing the car home, we have noticed several scratches on the car. I called the shop earlier this afternoon to speak to the owner regarding the damages, and at first he said he was NOT the owner, that he owner was out. After asking specifically to speak to the owner and when he would be back, he changed his story and said that he WAS the owner and asked what I wanted. I explained that we were the couple he dealt with yesterday on the performance car that was taken out by his employee, and he seemed to not remember the incident at all. This tells me that he was NOT the ""owner"" that we dealt with. I told him about the scratches that appeared on the fender, rear and front bumpers. He said that all of the cars are under ""video surveillance"" while at the shop, and that there was DUST on the car that is responsible for these scratches. He immediately said on the phone that he would "" see us in court"". I would LOVE to see the video surveillance so we can really see what happened to our car. Since 1.5-2 hours for the service to be complete turned into 5+ hours, I'd like to know what they were doing with the car in those 3 additional hours that it took them to finish. This is by far the WORST experience we have ever had with any form of car service/installation. After 11+ complains to the BBB, these people should not be in business. more

Car Audio 1/23/2011

I wanted to highly recommend pacific stereo 405. They were extremely friendly and answered all of my questions with a smile. Their prices were increadible. I explained to them what I wanted, what my budget was and in a couple of hours, I not only had an increadible system installed but they did it for far less than what I told them I was willing to spend. This shows me that they really care about their customers. I will be back with my wife's car extremely soon. Thanks for everything pacific stereo 405. People who do business like you are hard to come by and I appreciate your great service and prices. more

Pacific Stereo installed my Alpine System. 7/4/2009

Check google reviews for pictures on this job.\r \r I came to pacific stereo hoping that somehow they could customly install 2 pairs of alpine type r 5 1/4"" The problem was the car is over 20 years old and the current speakers were 3 1/2"". This is when I dropped by Pacific Stereo after being referred by a friend that told me they do a good job for a good price.\r \r I spent most of my money on the sound system which consisted of \r -Alpine Spr-13s components.\r -Alpine 1242D Sub\r -Alpine mrp-m850\r -Alpine CDA-9884 (Running the components off the head)\r \r After the capacitor, amp install kit, and sub box. I was left with little money to spend on the actual install. \r \r Steve and I talked about prices and working it out with him was smooth and easy. I payed $350 for the whole install. with that included I bought the sub box and the harness. \r \r They wired my ipod cable to my glove compartment. Tuned the amp. And set me up fully. Steve also recommended that I buy a 4 channel amp for the speakers. I just got an Alpine mrp-f600 to complete my sound system. I am definitly going back to Pacific Stereo to get this installed. Pros: The service was great at a reasonable price. more

Up front and honest 4/3/2009

I had my stereo removed at my apartment. A few days later I went to a competitor to get it replaced in which they did a good job however 1 part was missing to complete the installation of my satellite unit. I was told that everyone in LA was out of this part but that it would be in the next day. 1 day turned into 3 which turned into a week which turned into an I don't know. The next place I called was Pacific Stereo and talked to the manager Steve. He assured me he would have the part in 1 day which it came in on time. 3 weeks later I got a call from the competitor but since I have had other work done by this shop and I can say that they have treated me like their only customer. Steve and his top notch team of experts will work with you until your needs are met and you are above all, happy with your purchase. Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Great service 3/31/2009

Steve added an iPod connection to the existing stereo in my Audi. He listened to me and sold me what I wanted, and did not try to upsell me. The work was done quickly, without any drama, and at a good price. What more could you want? Pros: Work done quickly and properly Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Stay Away from Pacific Stereo 1/2/2009

I will NEVER EVER recommend Pacific Stereo to anyone. As a matter of fact if someone asks me about the place I'll recommend they go elsewhere. Their cusotmer service is terrible, their installers don't know what they're doing and the manager Steve couldn't manage heartburn much less a stereo shop. The staff there is unprofessional and lacking real stereo knowledge. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Cons: Everything about the place more

Top Notch Management / Labor efficiency issues 12/30/2008

My experience with this branch of Pacific Stereo was at the end of the day worth the price of admission but only because of Steve (the manager) did his best to make sure i was happy. I went to the shop primarily because of its proximity to my home, to have my new Pioneer AVIC-F700BT and JL tweeters(purchased from PAC Stereo) installed into my '02 RSX. When I arrived I approached them about cost of installation and some tweeters. I was quoted a price which I knew was not the greatest price, but in light of the financial crisis, after a little bit of haggling and a desire and to help support small business I agreed to slightly modified price quote. This was perhaps not the greatest business decision of my life but the alternative was to give my business to the no haggle no customer service oriented big box retailers. The installation of the two items frankly took a lot longer than it should have (which Steve I think was aware of) in my opinion. However at the end of the day the quality and of the installation and the extremely helpful and competent Steve made my experience worth it. To sum things up I would recommend this installer because Steve the manager will work his hardest to make sure that you get the results you want. As far a the efficiency of the installers are concerned, well lets put it this way they're like the LA Clippers, lots of talent and ability to get the job done right but at times lack the focus and consistency to be the best team in LA. I am in the market for an amplifier and a sub woofer and will likely not purchase the units from them but if Steve is still around then I am pretty sure I'll be back to this shop for installation. Pros: Manager on SIte is Excellent Cons: Installers can be inefficient more

Customer Service is best I've experienced. Very capable of doing a great job. 12/3/2008

The bottom line with Pacific Stereo is that they will do what it takes to make you as the customer happy in the end, and when all is said and done, that's what's important.\r \r I was buying a replacement subwoofer for my Jeep and wanted a custom enclosure in the back that'd take up less space and look like it was part of the original interior. Unfortunately, when I picked my car up at the end of the day, the work they did was poor. The box was not built as we agreed upon and looked clunky. I went home pretty upset and thought I just lost a bunch of $$ for nothing.\r \r Here's the good news. I went back the next day and talked to the manager Steve. Steve was great - he acknowledged that the box wasn't built right and was quick to assure me that we'd get it taken care of. And they did! Steve wanted me happy, so we worked together and came to a solution. We talked more about what I REALLY wanted in my Jeep. We looked at photos, mapped out the space in my Jeep, put the sub in a temp box and listened to the sound quality - everything so that there'd be no surprises in the end.\r \r They completely did the job again - at no additional charge - and this time did it very well. The new enclosure looks and sounds great - it's what I wanted from the start. Not everything is perfect, no - a couple of the guys working on the car cracked small pieces of my plastic interior. I pointed it out to Steve, and yet the next day when I was picking up the Jeep, I noticed a couple new places that they cracked from tightening the screws too tight. This is unfortunate and I wish they were more careful - as if it were their own car, but these details are minor when considering the overall job.\r \r Yes, I wish we got it right the first time - but really, it says a lot about Steve and Pacific Stereo that they stood by their word about wanting to make the customer satisfied and didn't stop until it was done right. Pros: Customer Service protected me from being disappointed. Ended very well. Cons: Without the help of the manager, other workmanship was below par. more

No Spanish Speaking 11/20/2008

I would definetly not recommend these people to anyone else. After recommending over 1/2 a dozen people to his shop, I iwll never do it again. These people are very unprofessional and don't appreciate you speaking another language besides English. I was in their shop this weekend and they made a scene because I spoke in Spanish to one of their customers, (who happened to be my friends). They've been lagging their service, i had to wait 15 minutes to get my alarm control set. When it only took about 2 minutes to set it. The other 13 minutes were spent watching one person talk on the phone, another look through, and another re-stoke some shelves. I really did not enjoy my visit to this place and I wouldn't want anyone to have a bad experience with them, so save yourself some time, and frustation and visit any other shop but THIS ONE.\r \r Signed, \r A long time faithful customer, who now has moved... more

Best Car Audio Place Ever!, Great Customer Service 10/12/2008

I spent the previous 9 months searching LA to find a car stereo place that I trusted, that listened to what I wanted, and was reasonably priced. I ended up finding it in the unlikeliest of places - Pacific Stereo in Culver City. Don't let the location or the looks of the shop fool you, this place can deliver even the most complicated of installations. \r \r The manager - Steve, is a rare breed. He manages the shop with integrity and didn't do what every other shop I visited did, which was try to tell me what I wanted. Instead, he listened to me and spent time to figure out some solutions that worked for me. In my case, I wanted a full screen in dash double din unit to fit into an older Mercedes AMG with a single din space. They reconstructed my dash and made it look better than if Mercedes themselves did it. \r \r The end result, I am thrilled every time I get in my car for the awesome looking / sounding unit and how professional it looks.\r \r This place is great. Ask for Steve, he'll treat you right. I liked this place so much that I felt compelled to give them a good review even though I never do this sort of thing. Pros: Staff, Service, Quality Cons: Location is a bit shabby more
