Best

AA Auto Service Center was great. Often you have no advance warning when you need service and they responded quickly to get us back on the road. And best of all, their repair cost...

Worst

I have purchased a promotion for 5 oil changes. When I called for an appointment, they would only schedule it for a month out and not any sooner. If we want an appointment sooner,...

very grateful customer 4/1/2010

Thanks and appreciation. A very grateful customer - Dedra K. more

promptness and honesty 3/31/2010

Thanks for your promptness and honesty. They suggested repairs to be made and explained why and when. No "sales" job over the phone. Being local is great! - Pat O. more

honest independent mechanic 3/29/2010

$500. That's how much money I wasted trying to get other mechanics to properly diagnose a problem I had with my truck. My horn used to randomly honk when I was driving on the freeway, which sounds funny, but is actually quite lame when it's your car. Anyway, I tried the ford dealership in Bellevue. They charged me $100 to tell me I needed a new alarm (for $500)... wrong. Next I tried a few more local places (repeatedly). The local places were friendlier, but I got vacant stares and wild guesses. Imagine my surprise when I finally got to AA and they guy behind the counter told me exactly what the problem was and how cheap it would be to fix. I was delighted. He wasn't even a mechanic and he diagnosed my problem immediately. Plus the warrantied the work and vacuumed my truck too. Oil changes are cheap as well. Try them out if you need an honest independent mechanic. - Sam H. more

Dishonest, way overpriced. 1/21/2010

My car had engine misfires and insufficient egr flow. After paying them $85 for diagnosing the problem, I was quoted about $1000 and promised to get everything fixed. I hesitated a bit and was thinking whether it was worth repairing. But allured by their promise I eventually decided to go with the service. In the middle of the work they quoted me another $200 because "another part needed to be replaced". The final bill included parts for 4 spark plugs at $23.53 each! I felt ripped off at that point however that was not the end. Just 2 days later the check engine lights came back on again. I went back and thought they should fix this under their 12 month warranty. Wrong. I had to pay another 130 bucks because "it was another part which wasn't failing during the first repair". Disgusting... more

Cheap parts, pricey 10/27/2009

Cheap parts that need to be replaces within a year, usually by a more reputable mechanic, the labor and parts are overpriced, and the staff is pushy. more

Highly Recommended 8/2/2009

I came in to AA Auto to have my car looked at for a few issues it was having. When I walked in, I was immediately attended to with a calm friendly attitude. I have been to auto repair shops in the past where I felt rushed and talked into spending more money than needed. At AA Auto, my car got in quickly and I was explained to in a patient manner of what was needed be fixed and why. All the issues my car was having got fixed within the time I was told. They made me feel very comfortable and best of all, my car is running great thanks to AA Auto. I highly recommend taking your car in regarding any mechanical issues you may be having. more

PLEASE READ: Follow up to negative review 7/24/2009

This is a follow up posting to a negative review I made a couple of weeks ago. I was called by the owner, Aaron, and we discussed at length all of the issues I was displeased with. He asked me to bring the car back in and he would handle all of the problems. He had my LR3 professionally detailed and replaced the rear windsheild wiper. He is true to his word and made everything right again. I will definitely keep using AA Auto because they are one of the few repair shops interested in keeping customers happy. THANK YOU. more

Top Notch! 7/17/2009

This is why I moved to Seattle. The businesses here are so customer friendly. I moved here from California and what a difference going to an auto repair shop in Washington. I needed service on my BMW X5 and found AA Auto by driving by every day to work (Microsoft). I was treated like a King. These guys really care and I was very happy with the way Chris explained the services that needed to be done on my X5. If anyone thinks these guys are ripping them off they need to move to California and experience the way business is done there. I would have paid $200 just to have my BMW looked at in Cali and then recieved a bill of $1000 to repair it. By the time I got out of AA Auto I had only spent $379! WOW! Anyways I hope these guys are around for a long time because I plan on making them my perminant Car Doctor..haha more

Consistent and reliable 7/16/2009

My husband and I have taken our cars there for about 12 years even though we live about 30 minutes away now. They have given us reliable service and reasonable price over the years. more

Be careful....they cheated me too 7/5/2009

I brought my wifes car in for the 60K service on her LR3. Left the car there all day to be called and told they were not able to do anything. Promised a free oil change if we brought it back a week later. Brought it back and was called shortly afterwaeds with an 1200 estimate to perform a $200 service....but we would get a free oil change. When we picked up the car, it had grease on the leather seats, a huge scratch in the paint, the service light was on (they said they didn't know how to turn it off). Now mind you.....the service light was NOT on when we brought it to them!!! They charged me $115 for a $20 part, $49 to install a 2 minute job. $16 to rotate my tires (but they did a break job and had the tires off already). Double charged for supplies and tweaked my rear wiper. Lawsuit already started. This won't go unanswered. more

Glad we found them 6/25/2009

Moving from Michigan, we knew our truck wouldn't pass emissions. At AA Auto, they spoke in terms we could understand, the service we received was way beyond our expectations and the pricing was competetive. We're really glad we got their referral from a few friends and ignored negative reviews. We were very comfortable and Cliff and his staff were very informative. From now on, any problems we may have with our vehicles, we will be sure to take them to AA Auto. We are glad we found them. more

Quality Job and Excellent Service 6/1/2009

I have been a customer for the last 4 years and I am very satisfied with their service. I was in the shop the other day and saw another customer bring in a dozen banana cream pies as a thank you gift to all the employees for providing such excellent service. Instead of giving "standard" quotes over the phone which many shops do, AA Auto maintains the philosophy that you should only replace what you need. When a shop gives you a quote over the phone for how much it costs for a 30,000-mile, 60,000-mile, or 90,000- mile service, they are assuming that you need A, B, and C replaced whether the parts actually need replacing or not. AA Auto insisted on taking a quick look at my vehicle before giving me a quote, and I am so glad I did. They said most of my parts were fine and didn't need replacing just because they were part of the "standard mileage service". I saved a lot of money by going to AA Auto. I feel confident going there because they really take a careful look at my vehicle before telling me what does and doesn't need to be done. When I got my oil change in April, they noticed that my tire treads were getting low but didn't need to be replaced just yet. I appreciated their advice that my tires would probably be safe for another 5,000 miles, so plan on getting new tires in the fall. It makes me feel good that they are watching out for my safety and making sure my vehicle continues to run well. In today's economy, it makes sense to properly maintain my current vehicle because I am not buying a new one anytime soon. Postponing necessary mainenance or repair items will only make the bill higher at the end, so I appreciate the service writers at AA Auto who always tell me what needs to be done now, what can wait, and what I will probably need servicing the next time I come in. I highly recommend AA Auto Service Center. They give you free shuttle service, free car wash, and free vacuum with any service. Definitely worth a try. more

Compassion and honest.y.....really! 5/14/2009

I am a single mom and get a bit nervous dealing with the auto industry in general. I was pleasantly surprised when I brought my car in for a brake inspection and oil change. I was greeted warmly by Cliff, who I believe is the manager. He explained everything in a way that I could understand. I ended up not needing new brakes quite yet, but when I do AA Auto is the place I will go. Thanks for an unexpected experience. KB more

Completely Satisfied 5/13/2009

I ended up at AA Auto because my friend from work referred me. I don't know anything about cars and went in being very cautious (thanks to good advice from my father) but Cliff was was great and explained everything to me in full detail. I ended up getting all my brakes done and my car stops and sounds just as it should and I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of. I will definitely be taking my car there again for anything I need done. more

AA Saved Me $$$ 5/12/2009

I have used AA Auto 3 or 4 times over the past couple of years. Recently I was looking to buy a mercedes and brought it to AA for a buyers inspection. Cliff & John were great. They went over the car in great detail and found a few items that needed to be addressed. I was able to use that information as leverage and get a better price for the car!!! more

Horrible 2/17/2009

I had a coupon to this place, and when my car broke down right near it i thought i would go. They wanted to charge me over $800 to fix my radiator. I called around to other places and it was half the cost. When i went to pick up my car and bring it somewhere else i had to pay 100 dollars just for them to look at it. They were very rude, and i will never go there again. I ended up getting my radiator fixed for $435. 50% less than what they quoted me more

Dishonst and shady business practices and employees. Absentee owner. 3/30/2008

We have used AA in the past (2004, 2005) and have been happy with their customer service and prices, so we were very surprised and disappointed with our last experience with them (sept 2007). Long story short: We paid their standard fee to diagnosis a problem (jammed door) that was supposed to take 1 day. Two days later (after many phone calls) we received the estimate, which seemed a bit high. At this point, we needed our car back and told them we’d come pick up the car, but we were then told that in the process of diagnosing the problem, they further broke our door so that it wouldn’t close and wasn’t drivable … We could either pay them to completely fix the door – or pay them a smaller fee to return it to the original condition (before they broke it). After a few days of going back and forth with them (and their effectively holding our car hostage), they finally agreed to fix it enough so that the door would close. When the problems first started, I found the reviews here and was very surprised. Aaron, the owner, lists his contact information in another review below and asks customers to call him with questions about the negative reviews. We called him (while our car was still being held), but the number he lists is the main office number and the receptionists and manager tried to not let us through. The manager referred to him as an “absentee owner.” When we did finally connect with Aaron via phone, he was not nice, but I think it was him that at least got the service department to fix our car enough to release it. Still, he didn’t do anything to try to make our experience better. All in all, a horrible experience. Missed time-line expectations, rude / non-existent communication, shady business practices, and a staff that does everything to keep you from talking to the owner more

Dishonest place - don't ever go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2/14/2008

Totally ripped me off, mechanics and manager are dishonest. Severely overpriced priced parts and lied about it too. I find it amusing that the "owner" posted here. Not only did he pretty much agree with his manager ripping me off, he sets the pricing. Don't ever go to this place and if you still do, be careful! more

Automotive In General 1/2/2008

I have been an automotive technician going on 34 years. I have worked in many shops and on many makes, models and years of vehicles. I have heard customers complain say their automobiles were running ok before they brought them into the shop; but in reality they were not running right in the first place because they were not maintained like they are suppose to be. Many people don't notice their automobiles are about ready to give them a problem. Your car will run great until it doesn't and not all vehicles will give you a clue they are about to break down or start running badly. It automobiles today aren't like the 50's, 60's and 70's of the past. They are more on the lines of aircraft quality today. Everything is electronically computerized now, so it's impossible to know when one or more of the circuits in the electrical system will malfunction (Fail). Even in the mechanical areas of the vehicles, it can be difficult to know when it will fail so to avoid these problems, you should take your vehicle in to have it checked out and maintained per factory manufacturers recommendations as your service manuals when you bought the car, truck or van says to. I do know some used cars are missing these service manuals that came with the automobile at one time in the past, so it would even be wiser to at least have the vehicle looked at every 6 months to help eliminate possible break downs and to also save money on parts that could have had a longer life to them if the vehicle was maintained properly. Remember that these machines you drive are not designed to last forever and due to mass manufacturing not all parts will work as long on one car as they will the other. The parts are not designed to last forever because if you had a car that never needed replacing of parts, the economy would fail in that industrial area and then you would be back to walking or riding a horse. This is just the reality of life. Please take things into consideration that there is no perfection on earth and most technicians do really care about your automobile they are working on and want to fix your problems as quick as possible and do quality work at the same time. The only way for you to know what us technicians and shop owners go through and the money we spend to keep up with technology and tools is to try doing what we do and then you will know that we are doing our best to help you out and make a living also. Most technicians have to spend at least $1000.00 a month on tools to keep up with the demand. It's non stop and the shop has to invest into the 10's to 100's of thousands just to be able to keep up also and diagnose and repair your automobiles. more

Best for Years! 10/17/2007

carolyn l. With all the computerized car essentials today----very elaborate diagnostic machinery is needed with highly qualified TECHS. Therefore, this shop needs to pay for their Good Techs and wonderful staff. Their prices are competitive and their work is outstanding! They do a top job on inspecting parts at time of LOF and many times that info will avoid more serious problems to come. The owner appears to be very sincere and stands behind his repair business. 5 stars! more
