Legendary cuisine, classy Channel commercial like decor 3/29/2011

Just imagine you're leading character in a Channel No. 5 commercial, rolling by ceiling high mirrors and your red kiss marks all over it. Refreshing your self by misting your beloved Chanel No.5 you're walking through the foyer heading to the grand entrance. You're being welcomed. Walking through the tables while being admired, you're seated in the corner where the all wood decor creates a warm intimate ambience. The seemingly arrived from the ""Garden of Eden"" smoothie of the day is being offered. Heavenly tasting it intrigues you to desire more of it even as it drips a little :), messing your perfect make up. Very Berry Brioche French Toast arrives in front of you, colorful like your smoothie distracting you from craving your partners Waz-Za ( cracly br?l?e fruit top waffle). Tasteful like your smothie leaves you no option but being transfered to heaven . Once your visual and tasting senses are already satisfied, the French pressed coffee is satisfying your olfactory senses completing your short trip to heaven, forcing you to just promise to your self to be back as soon as possible to experience the same trip. End of imagining the leading Channel No. 5 character and back to reality until the next experience while having the best brunch in NYC. more

Horrible Service 2/5/2011

I was extremely disappointed with my overall experience. Below is a list of reasons as to why Norma's was not quite that five star restaurant I thought that it was: 1). The hostess dropped the menu so decided she would KICK it underneath something 2). We were informed that they do not take substitutions (ie. steak temperature or how eggs were cooked). 3). Took a long time to get our 1st course. 2nd course came right after, and 3rd course was never served until we asked for and paid the check and informed the waiter - who initially looked annoyed then mumbled an excuse that made no sense. Not once did he apologize or inform us that the food was coming. And he had the audacity to look annoyed when we stopped him to tell him that we never got our third course. 4). The waiter served water to the table behind us, didn't have enough glasses and grabbed a glass off of OUR table in the middle of our 2nd course. more

SKIP this Overrated Brunch Spot, Horrible Service 12/29/2010

The food brought me back time after time despite the absolutely horrific service I receive at this brunch spot. My most recent trip broke the camel's back and I'll never come back to Norma's. I Waited an extra 15 minutes for my reservation, had excessive waits for cold food, and my waiter was a ghost for the meal. For the extreme prices, I can name tons of better brunch spots with far better service. SKIP more

DMANBURGER "" Normas 12/25/2009

DMANBURGER ?Norma?s? November 15, 2009 dmanburger Edit Leave a comment Go to comments Norma?s at Le Parker Meridien: Applewood smoked bacon burger?at $22.00 kind of pricey for a burger !! the smokey flavor of the bacon and the firm, yet softness of the bun was at first worth the $22.00, but then as I continued eating, I thought about so many other burgers in this great city of New York that were at the very least comparable, but not so heavy on the pocket !! definately food for thought !! Pros: Good Burgers Cons: Too expensive more

Amazing Breakfast!!! 8/17/2009

They start off by giving you a sample of their fresh fruit smoothie of the day...which was mango peach and it was so refreshing! Their freshly squeezed OJ is amazing. The french-pressed coffee is the perfect thing you need to jump-start your morning. Pros: Delicious food, great service, great tasting beverages! Cons: Nothing! more

Love the brunch 6/19/2009

I had brunch here last weekend and loved it. There are so many options for vegetarians. I had the egg quesadilla and my husband had chicken. Both were excellent. The pancakes on our neighbor's plate looked yummy too. I highly recommend this place for brunch. The only drawbacks are: the place is too expensive, too full of people hence a long waiting time, and open only till 3pm. Fresh juice is served in tall glasses and costs $9 each which is very expensive. You don't order the juice, the waiter comes and asks to pour it in your glass. For a moment I thought that it comes with the brunch, but there is no free lunch so... $18 for two it was. Pros: Excellent brunch options Cons: Expensive, hard to get seating more

Worst Brunch Place Ever 5/19/2009

I am a big foodie person and love to go out to eat...This past Sunday, I made to Norma's for Brunch. I was very excited as I read all this wonderful things about the place. How dissapointed was I....First of all, they had no alcohol.. which is fine but kind of weird at the same time..Brunch and no Bloody Mary??? Second, I asked for Lobster mac cheese, well apparently, they dont serve it on Sundays..Hmmmmmm..ok. we ordered french toast with fresh fruits and eggs benedict...Eggs were overdone and were not even runny.. the french toast had fruits but not the fresh ones.. it felt like, someone took a huge serving of jam and I mean huge and poured over the toast.. and then the bill comes.. they served us for coffee that was already on the table...as well as for oj which looked to be compemtary as we did not order it.. Anyways, for 100 bucks plus tip, you can enjoy bruch as Sarabeth with cocktails and much better food...Skip this place. Cons: Everything more

Shamefully poor service 2/9/2009

I am a big fan of the Burger Joint, and I have been to Norma's a number of times for business breakfasts. The service is always slow to non-existent, but my experience on Saturday topped it all. After being seated at 2pm (not exactly the height of the brunch rush), no one even came to our table for 10 minutes. After the parade of 10 minute waits between the water server, the orange juice server, and the coffee server, I finally flagged down the host and asked that someone come to our table to take our order (we'd been in our seats for a total of about 40 minutes by this point). We ordered the extremely complicated eggs benedict and mushroom omelet. 45 minutes and 5 glasses of orange juice later, we realized that it was 3:30 and we had neither received our food nor seen our waiter since he took our order. Annoyed that our plans for the afternoon were almost completely ruined, we stood to leave. Low and behold, the second we stood with our things, the waiter appeared! He begged us to stay and told us that he had spoken to the manager, who would ""take care of everything."" I told him that we had afternoon plans and had not intended to spend so long waiting. Another gentlemen then showed up with our food, put it on the table, and practically pushed us to sit down and eat. Against my better judgment, I did. I asked for the check immediately, explaining our rush. Another 30 minutes (and disappearing waiter, manager, or anyone inclined to acknowledge our presence), the bill came. Not one item had been comped by management, and when I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that he was unavailable. I don't mind splurging on a $65 brunch, but this one was insulting. There are too many fantastic restaurants in the city to waste your time and patience on an establishment that does not realize that the economy is not its friend right now. I could get more attentive service at Burger Heaven - the next time, I'll suffer their over-priced meals instead. Pros: Good location Cons: Horrible service, poorly managed more

Disappointed midtown resident 2/8/2009

Being residents of midtown, we're always on the look out for a good brunch in the neighborhood. So we were looking forward to experiencing Norma's after having a very solid burger at Burger Joint. When we were seated, our table was unclean... my girlfriend's seat had food on it. The decor was bright and loud, and the elbow-to-elbow seating reminded me of a school cafeteria -- which could be okay, but not when you're paying those prices. The service was poor. The food took over half an hour to arrive. Our server didn't check in on us once during the wait. The food was good and competently prepared, but not worth the price. And being seated to a chair with food on it is unacceptable. Pros: Creative dishes -- ""Good,"" not, ""Great."" Cons: Table and chairs weren't clean; Poor service; Overpriced more

Perfect for Brunch 10/28/2008

Came here with a group of girlfriends for brunch on a Saturday, and it was fantastic. We shared eggs florentine, crapes, french toast, pancakes and crispy belgian waffle.
