Mark was on time and cheerful. I was disappointed in that 2 of the new water shut off valves failed so quality control was below average. This led to more splicing of the copper lines than I was expecting. RESPONSE FROM Norblom Plumbing: Thanks for the review Bob! We apologize for the two leaking valves. Our supplier had a bad batch and several got mixed into out inventory. It was difficult to tell which were bad and which were good. I was at work on a Sunday night when my wife called to tell me the water heater had died. I put in a request for service and had a returned email within hours. Mark came to our house, took out the old unit, and installed a shiny new Rheem within an hour. He was extremely polite, professional, and very fast. Communication throughout the process was excellent. The Norblom Plumbing team made a very annoying experience short-lived. We could not have asked for a better experience. I had a leak where a pipe met the diverter on our tub. After struggling to figure out how to fix it myself, I called Norblom Plumbing, and within 45 minutes Kurt came to work on it. He showed me that the leak was caused by a hairline crack in a piece of the tub diverter assembly. He said that although he had a replacement part, he didn't feel comfortable using it because it wasn't an exact match, and that the best thing would be to get an exact match for the part that came with the orginal diverter assembly, but it might take time to track down. He said that if I felt comfortable with doing it, I could buy the replacement part and install it myself. I said sure. I had installed several faucet sets in the past and knew I could do it easily enough. Kurt told me where I could most likely get the replacement part (at Park Plumbing Supply in my neighborhood) and showed me how to put it on myself. I really respect Kurt for telling me this. He could have easily put on the part he had, but by his own admission, it may have leaked, and he didn't want that to happen. I asked Kurt to put on hot and cold water cutoffs behind the tub so I could work on this fix without having to shut off all the water in the house. (The cutoff valves will also come in handy when I need to do more work on the tub fixtures later.) Kurt did the work quickly and thoroughy, and it didn't cost too much because his entire visit was less than an hour. After he left, I went to the plumbing supply store, and as luck would have it, they had the part. I went back home and put it on myself exactly as Kurt had instructed me to do. Within another hour, it was all done and the leak was fixed. Plus, I had new cutoff valves behind the tub. It was a quick and relatively painless solution to my plumbing problem. Kurt did great work, was calm, unassuming, and provided great instructions and advice. I truly appreciate his honesty and integrity. more

I came home from work yesterday to find water all over my basement floor. Turns out our water heater died and leaked out, and it was time to get a new one. After reading positive reviews about Norblom online I gave them a call and Amy promptly sent me a pdf listing all the water heater models they carried, their specs, and their prices with installation. The list also included costs for other work that might be needed for proper installation of the new unit, which was appreciated. I knew what heater I wanted and was all set to get rolling when I took a second look at our old heater and how it vented, and realized it was an especially low one that vented at a very shallow angle out the wall... in other words my options were much more limited than I had thought. Got Amy back on the phone, explained the situation, and she suggested I take some photos and send them by email for her plumbers to look at. Turns out my suspicions were correct, and we got the right sized unit installed with no additional pipes etc. It was great to have email and photos as an option, and I appreciated the customer service. It really was terrific. The plumber did the job in about 2 hours. He was fast, efficient, and good at what he did. I live in a town house, with little space, so he really had to squeezed the new water heater in. I am very pleased that I found them. The inspector came in and said wow. He was amazed that the plumber was able to get the water heater installed in such a tight area. He told me I had a great plumber and that he did a amazing job. I choose them because they came to me with the lowest estimate. They bent over backwards to help me get the correct water heater. They gave me a huge selection and got me a rebate. They gave us a window of two hours in which they would show up, and they showed up right on time as promised. more

Plumber Jim Peterson, came in looked at the problem and within a half hour was done. Very pleasant and to the point. No heavy pressure to do more than what was needed. Asked for an estimate on future projects and was able to give concrete answers within minutes. Will definitely use again and recommend to others. I had a minor but annoying problem with my toilet. Andrew identified the problem immediately and quickly went to work. He told me, in plain English, what he needed to do, then did it quickly and efficiently. He could easily have messed around long enough to charge me for the next fifteen minutes - - I wouldn't have known whether it was necessary or not - - but he didn't, saving me $40 in charges. Thanks to Andrew's professionalism I will not hesitate to call Norblom with my future plumbing needs. I had a 40 gal/ 40,000 btu water heater replaced in 2011. They were prompt with service, laid down sheets so my carpet did not get dirty, and got the job done in about 1.5 hours. The total price was about $1100, for a Rheem Professional water heater. I am not sure if that is high or not, it seems a little high, but it is probably reasonable. I would do business with them again. more

Jim came out and did a great job. There was a cancellation, and they were quick to call and come out earlier than expected. Jim was very courteous and respectful of our house. Norblom Plumbing showed up on time, finished faster than they said they would and were great. I have used them for 6 or 7 years, and had them out to our house 4 or 5 times. They redid our bathroom sink and fixed the pluming downstairs. Everything has been working well since they did the work. I've recommended them to others already. I have used Norblom Plumbing multiple times over the span of about 12 year. The first time they did work for me was when they installed a Sears water softener. I made sure to hold on to their card and have used them ever since for all my plumbing. Recently I had them out to install a toilet and fix outside spigots for me. They have also put in a kitchen sink. I am about to have them come back to put in a water heater as well. I really trust them and their work. I'm very picky about how things turn out, and they are even more picky than I am. That is hard to find. When a worker comes in and is neater than I am and more of a perfectionist, than I am sold on the service. They are really a high class place to do business. Frank Mazzocco more

My last water heater install about 10 years ago, which was NOT done by Norblom, the plumber explained nothing and failed to advise me that I had to register my water heater to get an extended warranty. more

Not much else to say! The plumber (Jim) showed up on time; was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly; did the work quickly; and left the work area cleaner than it was when he got there. Not only that but he was very helpful in explaining ways to save money on future services and tips on preventive maintenance.
