Alex is the BEST in Twin Cities!!! 6/23/2012

I've been going to Alex at Nivala for the last 5 years. I love the way she does my blond color. She is the only one that gets what I want and gives me cut, color and goregous style. Once in a while I would go some where else close to my house and I regret it everytime. I learned my lesson and I will NEVER go to any other person but ALEX. She is the best! more

Work on Unwelcoming Demanor at Desk or on Phone 1/30/2011

Called to book first appointment. I was forgotten on hold realized it after near 4 minutes. When I asked to make appointment and then revealed I was first time client, put on hold again for a minute. Never did book as salon full up for next week of open nights except for shortened appointments. Dont know if I will try again. more

Brash customer phone service 1/21/2011

Amanda has been my hair stylist for last 18 months. The work is great. However I have not been back there for about 6 to 7 months lately because when i call there is no opening and the receiptionist hurries me off the phone. Once I asked to talk to Amanda or asked that she call me so I could tell her I have been trying, did her schedule change etc...and I was told she won't be able to take the call. I just called now to see if could get in, and booked booked booked. Oh well. Not even offer to see someone else. Not very professional. more

They know what they are doing but poor customer service 12/9/2010

I had been a long time client of Sara's (the owner) After missing a few Massage appointment's due to work conflict (Which I always called to cancel) I called to make an appointment and when they asked my name and looked up the file they told me I would have to schedule as a new client and couldn't actually schedule, but that I would be put on the cancellation list. If this is how they treat loyal clients, I would hate to see how they treat new ones they don't know. more

This salon rocks! Sara is awesome! She goes out of her way to accomodate my appt needs. She has great ideas but works with my suggestions as well. The prices are fantastic. I paid 3 times as much at a previos salon. I get a lot of compliments on my hair and always brag up Nivala. more

The last salon you will ever need 4/29/2010

You won't find a more classy salon in the South Metro. They have complete hair, nails, massage and facial services and their staff are the best in the business. When I need to get in on short notice, Nivalas bends over backwards to accommodate my hectic schedule. The prices are very competitive with the chains but the service is much, much more comparable to the high end salons (which these guys clearly are)!!! more

Everything you need. 3/14/2010

With hair, nail, skin and massage. Nivala is a one stop shop. Prices are appropriate to services, and everyone working there knows how to treat a client. The salon is built around pleasing the customer. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I feel comfortable to sit down with any stylist in that salon, I have seen almost everyone other then Sara (the owner who books out 1-2 months) They allllll do great work. Will never go to another salon, no matter where I live. more

Great salon and employees 7/10/2009

I have been getting my hair done by Jess for as long as I could remember and I would follow her any where!! I love going to the salon, everyone is very friendly and Jess does the best color and cuts around!! The atmosphere of the salon is also amazing and fancy... straight out of NYC! - Loyal Customer forever!! more

Horrible Customer Service 6/12/2009

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL: I was looking for a new Salon so made an appt. at Nivala. The day of my appt. I ran into an accident and called to let them know I would be 10 min. late - the receptionist said let me check with the stylist - she came back to the phone and told me it was fine. When I arrived an walked in the door, she said - you are really late and the stylist will not be able to cut your hair. I explained that I had called ahead to check to make sure my tardiness would be ok - she asked if I wanted to reschedule - I said not on your life and walked out. Not a pleasant experience at all and would not recommend this salon at all. more

Great salon 2/11/2009

6 months ago, I needed to find a new stylist. After trying out expensive salons in DT Minneapolis (where I work), I received a recommendation from a co-worker to try Maggie at Nivala & Co. Nivala is 10 minutes from my house and Maggie is absolutely wonderful. She does a great job for a lot less than what I use to pay. Both of my daughters also love the salon. Nivala is a fabulous addition to the area. more

Simply the BEST 1/6/2009

I have been going to Sara for 7 years. Since then she opened her own salon and I have moved to Chicago and then St. Louis. I still refuse to go anywhere else. The plane tickets make the haircuts expensive but it's so worth it. Sara is the only stylist I have found who consistently gets it right - even when I only have a vague idea of what I am looking for. more

Best place in the south suburbs! The owner, Sara, is just amazing. Not only is she good at what she does (and fast), she's entertaining... she has me laughing the entire time I'm in her chair. Great prices, too! If you can get in with her, do it! more

Great atmosphere, great cut 11/3/2008

I followed my stylist - Julie Rose - to Nivala. She has never disappointed in a hair cut. She really understands naturally wavy hair. I've tried several other stylists closer in proximity to me, but they've never worked out. I got a color at the salon by someone else, and was very pleased with it. And the atmosphere of the place is great. It's calming and puts one at ease. more

The salon you are looking for 9/30/2008

I moved to the area about 2 1/2 years ago. I could never find a salon/hairstylist that I trusted with my hair. However, as soon as I found Nivala, that all changed. Maggie, my stylist, is amazing!! Gets it right every time. They make it easy to make an appointment, plus they make you feel welcome the second they answer the phone or when you walk in the door. Try it out - you will completely agree with me!! more

Unprofessional 5/7/2008

I am currently looking for a new salon and went in to Nivala and Co. to check prices and hopefully set up an appointment. After finding out prices and services I went ahead and booked an appointment for the next day and gave them all my information. I was given an appointment reminder card that had the date and time of my appointment. The next day, the receptionist (who was not the same person I made the appointment with ) could not find my name. Then a person who I assume was the owner stepped in and found my name but said the appointment had not been booked and she was very sorry. She said they were booked for the rest of the day. I had not thought I needed the appointment card and did not have it with me, and I was treated as though I was lying about my appointment. There was nothing done to make for this mistake on their part and after being very I am still looking for a new salon. I do not this Nivala and Co. more
