I have been going to Naper Auto Works for years and would go nowhere else. You can trust them to give you the correct diagnosis and only fix what needs to be done, which is the most important thing for a car owner. more

I just had a routine oil change, lube, and quick inspection, on this trip, but I've used this shop for every sort of service in the past. The normal experience here is to call them to make and appointment, they get you in sometimes the next day, but occasionally it may take several days to get an open appointment. I drop the car off in the morning, and they have someone drive me in to work. I get a call if there are decisions I need to make or charges that needs to be approved, but in this case they were none. I drop by at the end of the day to pick up the truck, and someone at the front desk goes over the work done in detail, I pay and leave. I've been using this shop for maybe 20 years now and don't go anywhere else if I can avoid it (e.g. dealer warranty work will be done elsewhere). I've had routine maintenance done there, as well as major repairs. The quality of the work is consistently good, the prices reasonable, and I'm treated like a valued customer. They occasionally find problems I didn't know I had (e.g. burned out tail light) and they will take of these, sometimes without charge or mention. I have gone to many other shops in the area looking for good, honest work, but once I found this place, I stopped looking more

I had my car towed to Naper Auto Works because the starter on my car went out. I asked them to call me before doing any work because I didn't want to be over charged for a simple job. They called me the next day and said that it was going to cost me 411$ to put on a new starter. I had previously looked up the part and it cost around 120$ to buy. They were trying to charge me 411$ to put on a 120$ part. I spoke with multiple auto shops and all of them said it doesn't take much more than an 1-1.5 hours to change the starter (so I got charged 290$ worth of labor which is like 200$ an hour for labor). In the end they knew I had no choice because I had the car towed there and it would cost me to tow it somewhere else. They off set the high labor cost by saying the parts are more expensive. Also I asked them if I could buy the part for them to install they said they won't do it. We always hope that by giving our customers an estimate over the phone before you have the car towed to the shop, and by delivering your car at the original estimated cost, that we could eliminate misunderstandings about the cost of the repairs. Apparently, we have more work to do on that front. To insure quality repairs and be able to offer a full parts & labor warranty, we only use known quality parts from reputable suppliers. We do appreciate your business and don't want to lose you as a customer. We hope that you will come back and give us a second chance to work with you. Satisfaction guaranteed. more

These guys are the best. They're honest, deliver on time, within the estimated cost (sometime below) and stand by their work. If your car needs normal maintenance or breaks, this is the shop to use. more

I've had everythhing from a oil change to major engine repair done by Naper Auto. Ever quote for repair I received from Jim or Bill was accurate or below when it came time to pay. I have four vehicles that Naper Auto maintains for me. Two american built and two german built vehicles. I have a ten year relationship with Naper Auto. I will take my cars nowhere but Naper Auto. They evaluate the problem and fix it within the estimate. Their integrity is impeccable. As an example, on many occasions they have stated that there is no need to put new brake pads on my vehicles because there were several thousand miles left on the brakes. Naper Auto Works (NAW)has great technicians that know what they are doing. NAW, from what I understand keeps there technicians trained on the latest testing equipment and auto repair. I have been using Naper Auto Works for more than 10 years at least and my experience with them has been top-notch all the way. They are honest and they do what they say they are going to do. The quality of their work is also good. When they told me that I needed a new gasket for the engine, they suggested that I go back to the car dealer who would do it for free, instead of having them do it. That is exactly the kind of attitude that they have at Naper Auto Works. Another time, when our car would not start, they came out and brought the battery to us. They immediately take care of any issue that comes up. I cannot recall ever having any problems with the work they have done for us. I have already recommended Naper Auto Works because they do honest, quality work, and fix the car when they say they will fix it.
