Terrible Respnse 10/12/2011

I have never experienced a Doctors office with worse response time...I can't believe I'm still here !!!!! more

Very happy with doctor 9/1/2011

This is the first review I've ever written, but I felt compelled to respond after reading some of the other reviews that I came across while looking up the office phone number. The particular doctor that I see is thorough, compassionate, and open minded. I left the practice briefly, as I, like the reviewer below, have a number of health issues, and I thought one the ""concierge"" practices might be better suited to my needs. While the concierge practice might have been able to see me more quickly, I found very little difference in the standard of care. I have a better rapport with my doctor at MVIM and save a substantial amount of money not having to suck up the concierge fee. I find the support staff efficient and friendly, as well. The office recently made special accommodations for my college age child to be seen for a physical on short notice. I don't know of many practices these days where you can actually speak to a live person when calling in. Leaving a message doesn't bother me, although I admit if I had an urgent question, I would want to speak with someone immediately. I feel lucky to have found a good doctor who genuinely cares about my health. more

Worst Physician Experience I've Had 6/8/2011

I have quite a medical history, and, as a result, i've spent a lot of time at doctors' offices since I was a kid. I have to say that my experiences with Mt. Vernon Internal Medicine have been the worst. First, it is impossible to reach an actual person by calling their office. No matter which option you push (even to schedule an appointment), you have to leave a message. Most of the time, I do get an answer within 2 days following my call. However, last week I called to ask a simple question, and it took 5 days to receive a returned phone call. By then, I had already found an answer to the question. Additionally, they referred me to a specialist and every time they receive a copy of test results (that my specialist has conducted), they call me to tell me ""no further action is necessary... you're fine,"" even though they are not my consulting physician for the problem AND my specialist certainly does not agree Good thing I chose to ignore these phone calls and listen to my specialist, or I wouldn't have been diagnosed. I will say that the doctors and staff are friendly, and that they get you in quickly for sick visits. Overall, though, I wouldn't waste your time. There are plenty of other doctors in the area. more

Care about the patient 7/19/2010

I'm a patient there and these drs actually take time with you. They have a new ofc mng that has made some changes to help the flow in the ofc. There aren't many offices that take this much time with a patient. I highly recommend them! more

Changes are Happening! 5/22/2010

Sorry both of you have had bad experiences at MVIM. The practice has experienced lot's of problems over the past four years. Believe me there is a new sheriff in town, and changes are happening quickly to bring this practice back to it's former glory. If you have a problem bring it to the attention of the new practice administrator, and believe me it will be fixed immediately. Never hesitate to express your complaints about your care, the staff or the doctors. Pros: Great Doctors Cons: Lack of Good Management more

Same Place but Careless(?) Staff 3/25/2010

I have been a patient in that office for 8 yrs now; and I agree with michal2; the front office/answering services have really taken a plung in customer service skills in the past 2 years.\r Also, the nurses have been sending patients to outside care (specialists) that are not within your Health Care plan. Better make sure before you go. I am stuck with a huge bill now.\r Are they really paying attention to what they are doing? Do they really care like they used to?\r I miss the former staff... Pros: Some reliable doctors are still there Cons: New staff are different - not as caring more

Untimely action/response from office 1/20/2009

Just that - it seems that the office is lazy in returning phone calls (I understand that I am not the only patient but from a primary care, I certainly want to feel that way) and in dispensing time sensitive information. more
