Review content:
I have quite a medical history, and, as a result, i've spent a lot of time at doctors' offices since I was a kid. I have to say that my experiences with Mt. Vernon Internal Medicine have been the worst.
First, it is impossible to reach an actual person by calling their office. No matter which option you push (even to schedule an appointment), you have to leave a message. Most of the time, I do get an answer within 2 days following my call. However, last week I called to ask a simple question, and it took 5 days to receive a returned phone call. By then, I had already found an answer to the question.
Additionally, they referred me to a specialist and every time they receive a copy of test results (that my specialist has conducted), they call me to tell me ""no further action is necessary... you're fine,"" even though they are not my consulting physician for the problem AND my specialist certainly does not agree Good thing I chose to ignore these phone calls and listen to my specialist, or I wouldn't have been diagnosed.
I will say that the doctors and staff are friendly, and that they get you in quickly for sick visits. Overall, though, I wouldn't waste your time. There are plenty of other doctors in the area.
