The servers are just looking for big tips, and since it is so overpriced, they get them by default.

Best Steak in Milwaukee 5/21/2011

Really great place for steak and seafood. We went there expecting it to be OK, nothing special. We were blown away. Mo's can compete with the best places in Chicago. Our server clued us into the Lobster Ceviche, which was divine. Then for dinner my husband had steak- prepared perfectly and I had Sea Bass- prepared with an amazing risotto. Really great service and food. It is our favorite place in Milwaukee. You can not go wrong eating at Mo's. more

cooking 101 10/6/2008

My boyfriend and I had a gift certificate to Mo's, we were really excited to try it out seeing we've only \r really experienced Mr. B's and Michael's house of Prime. We were there on a Friday night, seemed to \r be fairly busy but not annoying. \r \r We ordered drinks that took 10 minutes to get. We had a waiter and a waitress, which is nice if they are both attentive but completely frustrating and pointless if they aren't. \r \r I ordered the ""special"" which was an 8oz fliet with scallops. The steak was good, but I ordered mine medium rare and my boyfriend ordered his medium, they got it switched which wouldn't have been a big deal but they were different cuts.\r \r \r I also had a side of sauteed mushrooms that were salty and mushy. If I'm paying $180 for dinner: NAIL THE MUSHROOMS.\r \r The scallops were the most disappointing. They were done well but completely gritty.\r There's nothing more romantic than feeling sand on your teeth.\r \r I was pretty disappointed. I can let certain things slide but Sauteing mushrooms in my \r opinion is basic cooking 101. \r \r \r I will stick with places like Mr. B's. more

Great services and excellent steaks 8/4/2008

I tried Mo's for the first time on a date. I thought the service was great and on top of their game. I order the filet and thought it was great. I'm a picky steak eater as I work in the cattle industry and I would recommend Mo's, as their name indicates, as ""A Place for Steaks."" The only downfal was that their steak selection was a bit limited for my tastes, so was their specials. I think there was one that night. more

Milwaukee's Best (if not small steaks) 7/19/2007

Mo's was a pleasant suprise. Service was strong and smart without being overbearing. Selection of wines was impressive, though a tad celebrity based (Coppola, Andretti, etc.) and was slightly overpriced. Steaks were limited, but VERY good. As a steakhouse, I was suprised that the biggest steak was a 20 oz. Seems to be a trend with steakhouses, and one that I am not thrilled about. No, Mo's does not need at 64 oz er like the Chop House in Chicago, but 20 just won't do. 32 or 36 would be nice, and possibly at Porterhouse for two would be nice (I usually order one of these for myself). The upside of the small steaks is that you have room for the sides which were all good (corn, spinach gratin and jalapeno hash), but the biggest suprise was that there was room for dessert. I am NOT a sweets guy. The Chocolate Bread Pudding is AMAZING. Best I've ever had. \r \r Great meal topped off with a great dessert. Mo's has little to no pretension in the place. They let the food speak for itself, and the small steaks do a nice job. Pros: Dessert, location and service Cons: Small Steaks more

Choice, juicy steaks. Some of the best I have ever had. Loved the wine menus. Great atmosphere where it is ok to have a good time and enjoy yourself. Wonderful desserts as well. Very nice all around. Pros: Excellent food and a fun place more

Four different wine menus! A fantatsic selection from around the world. The best I have seen in town. Very knowledgeable staff. And GREAT steaks to go with the wines. I also loved the bar and piano player. Pros: delcious food, wonderful service, fun and friendly more

THE place for steaks! 6/22/2006

Mo's is not ""a place for steaks"" Mo's is ""THE place for steaks!"" Unbelievable steaks, service, atmosphere and everything in between. Pros: The Experience! more

I love Mo's 6/12/2006

Upbeat atmosphere, great food, huge wine list! Only bad thing... parking, use the valet service. Loved the mushrooms and the chocolate bread pudding. Pros: service, wine list Cons: parking more

Disappointed 3/27/2006

Poor quality food (salad, onion rings, soup), very expensive. The kind of place where your water glass is refilled after every sip. Pros: Good location, Good steaks, attentive service Cons: mediocre side dishes, converence-room like, poor value more

Not what it wants to be 1/23/2006

I really wanted to like Moes. I really did. But I have to say the calibur of beef they serve does not command the price they charge. This is a high end steak house, I have no problem spending $35+ for ala carte steak. Order the ""special"" 20oz bone-in NY Strip. I ordered it rare, came out a healthy medium to medium-well (mainly grey, little pink, but surprisingly juicy). When paying top dollar for at a restaurant like this I expect A LOT better. Sent it back - staff was very understanding and promised a new steak. I'm sure the kitchen's thought ""we'll show this jerk"" since the steak was probably cooked to health code minimums and VERY gristlely. They did replace the sides and the manager apologized. Wake up Milwaukee. This purports to be a TOP NOTCH steak house. It is not. Sadly, I've had better steak at Outback. Pros: Good Atmosphere, Great Service, Huge Wine List Cons: not so "Prime" Beef more

Awesome 8/21/2005

An outstanding place to dine. We live on the east coast but fly into Milwaukee to visit family or go to a Packer game. One of our highlights is to dine at Mo's. The food, ambience and service is outstanding. An exceptional place. Pros: steak, service, ambience Cons: Not on the east coast more

Huge Disapppointment 6/11/2005

No attention to details. No ambience. No class. Not friendly. Very limited menu. Rushed through dinner ... we were in and out in 1 hour ... including gulping down 2 cocktails. VERY expensive. Even with our take-homes ... the steak was just thrown in with the spinach. Steak was very good. Red wine sauce recommended by our waiter was awful. I don't mind paying top dollar, but expect to get experience commensurate with price. Will never go back. Pros: Steak was good Cons: Horrible ambience, Unfriendly service, VERY expensive more

Pampering service and great food 6/5/2005

I absolutely love Mo's! The steaks are awesome and so is the dessert! The service is outstanding and be prepared to be pampered. My husband and I go every year for my birthday and our anniversary. The atmosphere here is very upscale and the wine list is devine. If I could dine here once a week, I'd be in heaven. Pros: Great Wine list, Pampering Service, Awesome steaks Cons: Pricey, Parking more

Nice Ambience, Plain tasting food 6/5/2005

The restaurant has nice ambience on the first level at the main entrance. My family had a reservation and was placed on the second floor above the hotel or office building next door. I had ordered a filet with shrimp which was cold when I had come back from the bathroom to wash up for dinner...maybe 5 minutes tops. The steak had a nice topping to it, but with it being cold, I felt they could have done better. The shrimp was served with the shell on, no cocktail sauce or butter, also cold and really no taste. Mo's is also a chain in the Milwaukee area, and right accross the street is Mo's Irish Tavern. Their food is also quite plain. I like potato's as much as the next person, but at least add salt and pepper. Pros: nice bar, cute waitresses, prompt service Cons: cold, plain food, bad seating, expensive more

Stick with a steak 3/14/2005

The steaks are fantastic. The tempura asparagus is awsome and you need to finish up with the bread pudding. The price matches what you get and you always get a good meal. No suprises good or bad as long a you stick with steak. Pros: Excelent steak, Consistant Cons: Avoid non steak meals more
