It is unfortunate that there is such a low standard of professionalism from the staff and receptionists considering that the doctor, while brisk, was helpful and patient.
The staff seem altogether bored and disinterested and offer very little assistance in answering questions or successfully completing very basic, standard paperwork. Basically, beginning with the receptionist, you are treated like a bother and boldly so.
One female staff member was cordial and professional while asking the standard questions of a new patient, but the rest I encountered were rude and dismissive. Many talked loudly and obviously about patients in my presence, gossiped and generally acted as if I didn't exist. I directly asked one male staff member a question and he ignored me. Thinking he didn't hear me, I asked again, he looked at me and walked away. I then heard him trying to convince the doctor to ""discharge"" me before I even saw her since, to him, I didn't display any outward signs of sickness. Frankly, I don't understand why a medical center would keep someone with such blatant disregard for one's health employed.
Again, the service was rude and even with an appointment the wait was very long. The only positive aspect of the trip was the doctor herself, but it is ridiculous to have to put up with so much before and after visiting with her. It isn't worth it.
