I have had a fever for 2 and a half days walking around all swine fluish so I looked up one of the few centers that I could find open on a holiday. I was better off going to the emergency room. I should have realized a problem when I notice a lobby full of disgruntled patients, but I figured I would stick it out since I usually never go to the doctors unless my symptoms are so severe that I can't take it. After an hour of waiting, I was finally called up to be seen, to first be asked if I had a 150 dollars, and if I didn't they would not be able to treat me. I was shocked that even though I pay 70 dollars every two weeks for insurance they would not even look at me unless I paid them upfront because this is the ""policy at this location"". They refused to bill be although I have insurance, a job, and I know damn well my employer covers half of the deductible. So, I went home with a fever because this low budget, money hungry, wanna be medical center is more concerned about keeping there doors open that actually treating patients. And i'm one of the insured I can imagine how bad it is for those who aren't.
