I first took the ""Taking Relationships to Referrals to Profit"" class a few months ago with a co-worker. It opened my eyes and helped me to understand how anyone can better relate to others - potential clients, co-workers, family members - everyone! I knew then I wanted each of my employees to take this class. I just finished the 2-day Boot Camp which included several of Mike's classes on increasing referrals. I can't wait to implement several of his suggestions, including hosting the class for my leads group! Pros: Mike preaches what he practices - it works! more

I took the Certified Networker Program in 2008. I doubled what I was making at the time by using the techniques and strategies that I learned in class as well as in the textbooks and CD's that are required for the class. I'm taking the class again to refresh my memory of what I learned and to immerse myself in the material and the daily activities necessary to build my business by referral only. I can point to many clients that I would not have if it were not for this class, AND since I have started the class again this week, I have received two referrals. This stuff REALLY works! Pros: Guaranteed to work Cons: Lots of Homework and Lots of time comittment more

Mike Coy at the Referral Institue of Austin has changed the way I do business. I thought I knew what network marketing was, but I didn't. I have been active in networking clubs like BNI for years and thought I was a good at generating word of mouth referrals for my business. I quickly found out through Mike's training that I was not networking to my potential. I generated three times the amount of business in 2008 through word of mouth referrals than I did in 2007. Cold calls have a 2%-3% close rate in my line work. I close almost 80% of my business generated by my referral partners. I'm no math guru but I like these odds much better. Pros: more business, higher close rate, valuable information Cons: none more

5 New Clients from Referral! 11/14/2008

I work in advertising and went to Mike's Referral Workshop back in October. I always thought I received most of my business from referral and knew how to do it. There were a few tips that Mike gave me at his workshop about making the most of my referrals, getting the most out of each networking meeting, and how a few minor changes to the way I do business can turn soft leads into meetings with a client who wants to meet with me, knows my name, and is eager to here what I have to say. I have converted 5 referrals into clients which means thousands of dollars into my pocket and sleep at night because I don't have to worry about budgets! I can't wait to take his class in January so I can learn all about this new way of doing business. I strongly advise any Sales Executives to at least attend his workshop and I promise it will at least get you thinking about how you can improve your day-to-day business. I also feel any manager who wants to help their sales staff should have them attend the workshop so they become successful therefore you are succesful. Pros: Can triple your business. more

More Successful than I have ever been! 10/13/2008

Mike, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for sharing the "Secrets" of networking. I have taken back so much of my time that I found time to send you a thank you email. I am accomplishing much more with the same amount of time. I have been more successful than I have been in the last five to ten years. I have been in the same industry to over 12 years and it feels like I have just recently started a new profession. I have three BNI chapters that I support that are going through new Leadership and Support Team trainings, and I am in the middle of training my 512 Downtown chapter in Core Team training and I am attending the four hours of Referral Institute training per week. With this huge workload in addition to "real job"; I am finding more time by not chasing leads and focusing on shade 7 or higher referrals! My whole outlook has changed for the better. Some of the little things have made the largest impact. I am only participating in one of the seven types of networking organizations and I did not realize it. Now I am focusing on finding a few new opportunities for networking and growing my referral business. I wanted to take a moment and thank you for sharing this information with me. In just 3 weeks of class work, I have already received two referrals, but more important than that, I have trained my referral sources that just giving me a name and a phone number is not satisfactory. Instead, I insist that they are on the call with me when I call their referrals so that they can introduce us and make a few statements about my services before hanging up. (A Shade 13 Referral from the ""Sixteen (16) Shades of a Referral"" learned in class!) Also, I?m already enjoying my work more as I?m focusing my attention on building relationships with my clients and my network and spending less time on the ""busy work"". more
