The office is very professional. I liked the dentist and the staff. I needed a cleaning and the hygienist was very pleasant. All in all I will be recommending this office to to my co-workers and family. more

The dental providers are adequate but the customer service is horrible. As a returning patient, I was almost not allowed to make an appointment because I didn't have my insurance card with me ... despite repeatedly saying that my insurance had not changed. The treatment I received on the phone was so bad I decided to go elsewhere (Dr. Okediji - fantastic!) I contacted Michigan Ave Dental for my records and they needed me to fill out a form and send them $25(!). I didn't have a fax machine available for a few days so they said they had to mail it. (I was told that they "can't email" this form.) Then the form never arrived. When I was seen by the dentist there, I felt the care was adequate but I felt that they kept pushing add-on expenses. I recognize this is a business but I felt very "sold to" which gives the impression that money is more important than care. I will never go back here and cannot recommend it to anyone. more

Worst dental experience EVER!!! Finally got dental insurance through my new employer. I was excited to have a cleaning. Made my appointment for a "cleaning" and showed, only to find out that this clinic engages in classic bait and switch scams. I was subjected to rude, snooty, unprofessional staff at the front desk, the assistant was unremarkable, the dentist--Jason Guerrero, D.D.S., M.S. is a liar, and the practice is a scam. The business office manager is also snooty, rude, and unprofessional—laughing at me during my complaint. I was subjected to unwanted, unnecessary, painful procedures aimed at increasing their billing. I was not given a cleaning, rather instructions to make a new appointment with a hygienist—another billable item—6 or so months later. When I requested a sooner appointment I was told that they are "a very busy practice" and have no need or desire to accommodate new patients. I suppose if I did not have a healthy mouth I might have been seen sooner to further increase their billing. But alas, I have a healthy mouth and they know that I would never return to them once I received my cleaning covered by my new dental insurance. I have since cancelled my dental coverage and decided not to go back to this dental practice ever again. I would not recommend them to anyone. Then they have the gall, 6 months or so later to contact me because the insurance would not cover all of the unwanted, unnecessary, painful procedures I was subjected to. Now, they are figuring out if they will waive those ridiculous charges I never signed up for in the first place. Oh, and they will waive these charges so help me! Should have read reviews for this lousy clinic before choosing them as my dentists. Just because you have a downtown Michigan Avenue address should not give you the right to treat people like dirt and attempt to scam them and their insurance providers. more

I love this place. Everyone is on point and the service was excellent! What more could you ask for. This was in fact my first time going there but I can guarantee you I will always continue to go there from now on. So if anyone out there needs dental work, run, don’t walk to this place. I’m referring my wife to them. more

I had a whitening procedure done at Michigan Avenue Dental Associates. I prepared myself for the worst considering how extremely sensitive my teeth are. The doctor was great and examined me before we got started and answered all of my questions. In all, to my surprise, I did have some sensitivity, but the great outcome out weighted my sensitivity, no complaints. My assistant, was very patient with me and checked up on me every 5 minutes making sure I was OK. My results were fantastic. Thanks everyone at the office more

My husband wrote a review of Michigan Avenue Dental Associates so I thought since the computer was hot I'd wright a couple of reviews. I endorse everything he says about the office. He and I are both very particular about our selection of medical doctors and dentists we elect to go to since we both practice law in a field where we are exposed to professionals who just do not make the best decisions in provided care to their patients. My personal experience at the office has also been time tested and proper treatment tested. Like my husband, I too endorse the office and do not hesitate to recommend the office to my colleagues and friends. more

I am blessed to have had the opportunity to be a patient for 10 years of Michigan Avenue Dental Associates. I started as a young teenager, had preventative sealants placed on my teeth , had orthodontic work done and I do not have any fillings, absolutely ZERO. They inspired me to clean my teeth thoroughly daily and I do and consequently have not had a ONE cavity. They emphasized prevention to me at any early age and I am grateful for that. more

They treat you very professionally. It is not a spa, like I've seen some offices advertise to be. I'm going in for dental work on my body and I take that very seriously. I don't fall for the gimicks that so many young people do. I don't go for the type of office that pitches "one dollar for a checkup". Only the naive will fall for that type of silly come on. I only want someone with experience and character working on my body. more

I am glad the office has multiple number of dentists. It gives me a feeling I am getting the best of care because they are always looking over the shoulders of each other making sure I am getting the best of care, which I did. more

Michigan Avenue Dental Associates has been the dental office I have been going to for many years. I have great confidence in their work. Their fees are relatively standard for the area. But what is most important is the honestly and ethics they have. I would never go to another dental office and take my chance the dentist is as ethical and honest as the doctors at Michigan Avenue Dental Associates have multiple times demonstrated to me and my friends whom I have referred to the office over the years. Go here if you want honest, upfront and kind/gentle treatment. more

Went in with a tooth ache last week thinking I was going to have to have my tooth removed it hurt so bad, but came out with a nice looking filling. I've been coming here for several years and have great confidence in your treatments. Dr. James is the best. Linda, thank you for your help with my insurance, if you can call my HMO an insurance company. It only covers the very, very basics and doesn't cover quality work, long lasting work or good looking work. Thanks Terry for the kindness you have always shown me when I have my teeth cleaned. You guys make a good team and I write this review so others know that they can always come to you and receive quality work in a beautiful office with beautiful people. I originally came to Michigan Avenue Dental Associates a couple of years ago for a second opinion from a recommendation by my wife. The previous dentist I had been seeing always seemed to fine something wrong every time I went in. I just got tired of the same old same old; so I listened to my wife and saw the dentist whom she has been seeing who regularly has determined everything is always OK with her. Even though she has a lot of childhood fillings, about as old as she is, he doesn't tell her she needs them replaced. All she needs is to stop the grinding habit she knows she has been which Dr. James has been telling her about. Now finally she agreed to have him make her one, after she recently broke a tooth weakened from her night grinding. He made her a night appliance for grinding.......to prevent problems from occurring, not just waiting and watching until something expensive is needed. I liked his preventative approach. She should have taken his advice earlier. So I went in, and yes, I still have some old fillings that haven't been replaced yet, but he said they are holding their own, no need to replace them, and he will alert me if there should be any change that really necessitates their expensive replacement. He said even though the fillings maybe "old", they probably would last at least 10 or more years. I am certain if I was still with my prior dentist, I would have three more expensive crowns by now. I appreciate the conservative approach Dr. James takes. more

Michigan Avenue Dental Associates has been the office I have been going to for more than 25 years. I have great confidence in their work and their professionalism. I caution those who are not worldly enough to avoid dental offices' sales gimmicks that are beginning to appear wide spread. I have seen being promoted “$1.00 for a Check Up and Cleaning” I am aware of “1-800-Dentists”. This marketing service costs the participating dentist hundreds to thousands of dollar to participate in. SOMEONE has to pay the bottom line and you don’t get anything for free. Payment HAS to come from the patient; one way or another. There is a pressure put upon these dentists to recoup their participation fees or loss leader costs from the patient. Use caution. I have selected Michigan Avenue Dental Associates because of the integrity, honestly and professionalism the doctors there have demonstrated multi times to myself and individuals whom I have referred to them. My prudent recommendation is time tested, based upon my personal experiences and my professional knowledge of sub standard care received by my clients, whom I have represented, from dentists I certainly would not endorse. Good: I am very, very particular on who I select to do anything to my body, Its is the only one I will have for the rest of my life. Consequently when I selected my medical doctor I really scrutinize her qualifications. When I selected Dr. James, I really scrutinized his credentials. He is an outstanding person, if you get to know him, and an outstanding dentist. He emphasizes preventive dentistry which was essential in my decision making when I selected him.. Bad: If anything, I wish they had a restroom the patient's could use in their office so I can put on my makeup in private and not in the woman's "around the corner" restroom.. Improvements: Clone Dr. James so he has time to have lunch. I always go in over my lunch hour and he is always working through his lunch.. more

I called with a dental emergency and they were able to get me in the same date. I saw a general dentist first, and he was able to refer me to a root canal specialist in the same office, on the same day! I left the office pain free and feeling like a superstar because everyone was very accommodating. more

I have been to this office a couple of times now and have been pleased so far with just about everything. I take pretty good care of my teeth and like to stay on a schedule. they always have had convenient appointment times and got me in right away. the hygienist megan is very thorough and friendly. I would recommend this office to all my friends more

I write alot of reviews. Some are critical and some are complimentary. Today I visited Michigan Avenue Dental Associates and my review is a complimentary review. My experience today was unexpected and unique for me. I have good teeth. Hardly any fillings. Yesterday I broke a back tooth and it hurt like hell, I didn't sleep a wink last night.I could see that it broke in half from front to back. The tongue side of the tooth was waving in the breeze. I asked a co-worker this morning for a reference of dentist downtown. She said many people at our company go to Michigan Avenue Dental Asociates. So I called them. They fitted me in as best they could this morning for my emergency. Dr. James saw me. An x-ray was taken. Not to my surprise he said,"Unfortunately the tooth will need to be removed." He also said I needed a protective appliance for the rest of my teeth because he noted I was a grinder. I knew I was a grinder, My previous dentist noted it too, but he never emphasized how important it was to address my night grinding. He just made a passing comment. Dr. James on the other hand indicated it was imperative to address my grinding or else additional teeth of mine would be fracturing and/or chipping, one at a time, not necessarily needing to be extracted, but needing some fillings or crowns. After a confirmatory diagnosis by another dentist, (I like the idea of a group practice that works so professionally together), he fortunately took out the tooth today. The nerve was exposed and I didn't sleep a wink last night and having it taken out today was a blessing, even though I know I messed up his schedule. I'm going back for a protective guard and an implant. I wish I had gone to this office years ago. Thanks everyone for treating my terrible problem situation so professionally. And look forward in seeing everyone at my next visit. more
