I have been a patient at Michigan Avenue Dental Associates for many years and have always been very pleased with my care. Dr James always provides me Top quality care and if I have ever had an issue it was addressed immediately and to my satisfaction. I also really enjoy the care and time the hygienist Megan takes with me at each of my cleaning visits. They treat you personally , follow up with phone calls after your appointment and you don't feel as if you are just another number. If you are looking for a new Dentist I highly recommend their office. more

Since I was young, I've dreaded going to the dentist. Needless to say, I'll never fear the dentist again. After my experience at Michigan Avenue Dental I've not only realized how imperative it is to take care of your smile, but I've also realized that a dentist is nothing to fear. In all my past experiences, no other group of people have worked so well with their patients. No other persons have had the patience, kindness, and just overall positive attitude as this team. Even the atmosphere of the place was welcoming and comforting. They'll do whatever it takes to make you feel more relaxed and more at home. When you walk in, you can't help but feel a bit at ease. In other traditional dentist offices, you'll see small, closed rooms with probably no windows, but at Michigan Avenue Dental you have a beautiful view of Lake Michigan!! And the whole office is open which gives you a welcoming and a more comfortable feeling. I also loved how instead of overwhelming you with little booklets of startling teeth related illinesses, they had your typical fashion magazines and others to choose from. They don’t try to overwhelm their patients or chide them for what they’re not doing, but at the same time, they’re being helpful and you leave knowing full well what you must improve on in order to have a healthier smile. Overall, they were a great group of people working together to get their jobs done and at the same time make you feel 100% comfortable. They understand that many people dread the dentist and go out of their way to make their patients feel at home. I am also suppose to also make a comment on the "service" great, the "price" OK, the "quality" great, the "competence," great, "fun factor"?? not much fun, but it has to be done, "usefulness" they fixed my tooth and I us everday, "selections" ? They deserve five stars, in my opinion. more

I have been a patient of Michigan Avenue Dental Associates for over 10 years and feel that I must respond to some of the negative comments from people. Every time I have gone to see the dentist or the hygienist, I have been treated with respect and have had all my questions and concerns addressed. Also, I have been seen in a very timely manner. Of course, emergencies happen, but the staff has always kepy me informed of what was happening. I will continue to go to this office and as I said before, they are very helpful. more

The staff is friendly and they make you feel very comfortable. Dr.Traina is very thorough and explains everything and asks what is your most urgent need to be taken care of first. she's great! more

I have been a patient at this dental group for about a year and am very happy with all of the staff and services. My experience with a crown, a filling and a few cleanings, has been great. Virtually pain free workmanship and a thorough explanation of the procedures has left me with much less anxiety about seeing a dentist. Additionally, some great coaching from the hygienist has helped me with a breath odor and gum issue. I like that I was not chastised for substandard flossing, but was instructed on my technique and given some tips on products to try. Ask for a window seat because the view of the lake is fantastic. more

Good: I have not gone to a dentist in several years and of course, I had a dental emergency. Sunday night I was eating M&M's with peanuts and as I was chewing, felt something strange in my mouth. After getting everything out, I noticed a piece of tooth mixed with the peanuts. Oh no, I broke a tooth!! Went on citysearch searching for a dental office. Found Michigan Avenue Dental Associates, called them first thing in the morning and got in the same day. The dentist was able to fix my tooth. Great service.. Bad: There is nothing I didn't like.. Other: I will keep dental appointment for x-rays and examination. Do not want to break another tooth. Am so glad I came to this office and received such great treatment and also explanation of what I needed to do to achieve optimum dental health. This is the greatest dental office in the city!!! Hands down. They made me into a new man! A little bonding, a little gum reshaping, a little orthoddontics, a little reshaping of my from teeth, a little replacing old dark silver fillings. replacing some stained while plastic fillings and two porcelain crowns on my back teeth. Fantastic results!! The doctors all worked well together, the treatments were seamless since the specialists were all in the same office. That is definitely a plus for me. I feel much more confident when I go into court knowing I look OK rather than have people distracted by my crooked tooth. (no pun intended). I didn't want my "crooked" teeth to reflect adversely on my client's innnocence or guilt. The doctor's and staff were all professional as I expected them to be. They made it relatively easy for me to undergo treatments considering the crazyness of my work schedule.So thank you Dr. Kizor for straightening my teeth, Dr. Biama for my gum reshaping, Dr. James for my fillings/crown and not forgotten, the hygienist whose son went to the same college as my daughter. more

They did a great job. What a transition from my "pre treatment" smile to my "post treatment" million dollar smile. All the doctors were great, and I saw several. Dr. James for my crowns and fillings, Dr. Rocha for my root canals, Dr. Biama for my gums. I saw their hygienist too---she was gentle.Thank you! Even when going deep below my gums. They gave me a treatment plan at the beginning and explained everything up front and the costs to me. I have HMO "insurance" which didn't cover a whole lot. It only covers the very bare minimum---nothing more. I am proud to recommend them to any friend or family member or anyone else who needs dental care. They are very skilled, pleasant, honest, ethical and really did a good job. Thank you all! I now feel really good about myself and my smile. more

Was a patient for over 20 years until I moved to the Seattle Area a little while ago. He and his office were always friendly and professional. I've never had to deal with repairing any bad dental work or the pain my friends have related to me abound their dental experiences. . In all that time there has only been once when one of the staff was out of sorts. Not bad. One thing I did not like was waiting beyond my appointment time, but I experienced ( and continue to experience) that with my medical people too. But, still, I do not like it . A pet peeve of mine.XXXXXX Dr. James was always willing to take the time to explain and demonstrate things. I link my good dental health these last few years to Dr. James' emphasis on prevention.XXXXX The kicker for this review was when my dentist here complimented me on my previous dental work. So I thought Dr. James and his office deserved some well-earned reviews. Hope this helps. more
