I used Metro Camera several years ago with my film cameras and was always happy with the service, then I lost track of them when they moved from west Denver to Englewood. Last summer I was lucky enough to find them again after another camera ""repair"" shop had wasted a month, did not even look at the camera, then tried to sell me a new lens which I did not need. more

My work took our Sony PMW-EX1 into this place for a cleaning. Not only was it almost two months before we heard from them again, the camcorder was toast. It wouldn't even turn on. We took it back and asked them to explain what happened. All they told us was that the motherboard was fried and it'd be $4,000 to fix it. It worked when we gave it to them. And now it's sitting in a box in the closet. Here's the best part: the camera was still dirty when we got it back initially. So, my boss paid them to break our camera, and nothing more. more

Was having a problem with my D-300 and took it in here for repairs twice. Neither time did they solve the problem. $250 later.... Decided to google the issue... About 10 minuts later and a quick cleaning of the grounding pin and contacts problem is solved. Thanks for nothing, guys. more

I have used Metro Camera Serives 2 times and I have had two Nightmares. I sent my lens in for cleaning, when it came back it made gringing noises when focusing, they said ""that is normal"", funny it didn''t make that noise before they ""CLEANED IT"", sent back and they said they fixed it, NO THEY DIDN'T! My lens is ruined, no longer useable. VERY Rude Customer Service. Unprofesional! Will NEVER use again, constantly they would say ""we will call you right back"" NO THEY DON'T! Once they got my money I was on my own, they wouldn't help me, SHAME ON METRO CAMERA SERVICES! DO NOT GO THERE! \r They get an F! more

13 WEEKS AND STILL WAITING! I dropped my camera off with Metro 12/02/11 it was sent to Canon a week later, I paid in full for Canon's estimate December 19th and was quoted 3 weeks turnaround!! Metro says there is a parts delay due to last years Hurricane/Tsunami. Canon says there is no parts delay. I am losing patience and would like the truth, it has been 13 weeks, I have called quite often and been given the same answer. See Below for Canon's response as I contacted them directly...... ""Since the camera was sent in by Metro Camera Service, the account for the transactions is strictly between Canon and Metro Camera Service, and I am unable to reveal the details of the cases to anyone that is not operating as a representative of Metro Camera Service. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. That said, I can tell you that the earthquake had minimal impact on our overall stock of repair parts or our production volume, and the few supply line issues that did crop up have long since been resolved. All of our operations have been back up to speed for many months now, and we are not experiencing any parts delays for that reason or any other reason at this time. I am not certain where they have received this information from, but it appears to have been from an outdated or inaccurate source. -Canon Customer Service"" more

Send Nikon equipment directly to Nikon 11/10/2011

The service at Metro Camera is dreadful. My D300 was sent to Nikon for autofocus calibration. It came back after 7 weeks (only after several emails) when the repair was estimated at 3 weeks. Full payment($411) was required up front. The repair was for auto focus adjustment, but it came back with other claimed repairs that were not requested and I did not have the opportunity to approve. Metro refused to provide a contact at Nikon or a Nikon invoice listing the work undertaken. This is the second such incident I have had with Metro. The first was a VR repair to a 70/200 mm zoom lens. I'm a semi professional photographer. I'm contacting Nikon and the Better Business Bureau on this issue. If metro is going to send your camera to the manufacturer, send it yourself more

Great service 11/9/2011

My camera wasn't working correctly and felt like it was sticking. I assumed it needed a complete service, but she played around with my settings and fixed the problem. No charge! I'll be sure to return when I need the servicing. more

did a dumb thing with canon printer. wasn't in the door 3 minutes and the tech had it fixed. no charge. good show !!!!!!! more
