I went to this salon to see CINDY and had the worst experience ever. She damaged my hair beyond belief, then flat ironed my wet hair. And took 5 hours to do a partial weave. Then...

A visit with Cindy Lorraine at Maxwell's leaves me feeling so pampered. 9/6/2007

Cindy Lorraine has been coloring and cutting my hair for many years. My hair has stubborn, uncooperative wave. And, in more recent years has been getting worse due to those wiry grays coming alive. Cindy has always been able to provide a cut that ""tames"" my hair and makes it easier for me to manage, yet keep a current look and style. Her expertise in color ensures I have a natural look and I can truly say ""only my hairdresser knows for sure."" With the relaxing experience at Maxwell's, and great cuts and color by Cindy...why would I ever go anywhere else? Pros: Great atmosphere, great people and awesome results. more

As a new arrival to California and young at that, I felt VERY concerned about getting my hair done. The next consideration was pricing. After searching relentlessly I came upon Maxwell's Salon and found my PERFECT situation...their assistant program! Melissa, I thank you for your warm smiling face, upbeat personality and professionalism, as you made me feel and look great. I was a bit timid due to the fact that she was titled assistant , yet to my surprise her skills of a year and a half were nothing short of my past stylist, of ten plus years. I couldn't have asked for anything better, AMAZING hair, a discounted price, yet a thorough and well-trained stylist!!! Thank you and I'll see you soon. Thank you Maxwell's for this wonderful opportunity and for fulfilling my haircare needs. more

I Love, love, love Aldina! She listens to you and works to get the results you want. I had no less than 3 compliments when I returned to work after changing my haircolor recently. This lady cares. I have been to many salons over the years that I didn't want to go out the door into the public view because of the way my hair turned out ... Not, at Maxwell's! Pros: Professional Stylist that keep up with what's in but, can do anything you ask, parking is very close by, some late hours during the week. Cons: None come to mind. Isn't that a pro too! more

Carlos is the best - knows how to cut difficult hair 8/1/2007

New to the area and was lucky to find Carlos right away. My hair gives all hairdressers fits as it grows in so many directions and does not naturally lay in any great shape. Generally my first time at a new hairdresser is a scary experience for both me and the hairdresser. Carlos is one of those rare few who could recognize the problems and customize the cut so that I end up with nicely cut and styled hair without too much effort each morning on my part. I would highly recommend him, and especially if you have problem hair issues that your current hairdresser can't seem to solve. Pros: Great location, great haircut, and everyone is nice - no attitude Cons: Tried, but can't think of one. more

Wendy knows her color! 7/13/2007

I was very pleased with the cut and color treatment I received at Maxwells. I gave my stylist Wendy and idea of what I was hoping for and the result was more than I expected. I am very pleased with the cut and the color is perfect. I have received soooo many compliments. I would recommend Wendy to anyone. The salon is well maintained and very efficient. very disappointing hair cut 6/23/2007

I went to this salon based on citysearch reviews but I was very very disappointed. The person cutting my hair didn't understand exactly what I wanted. When I asked her if she was going to cut my layers so the bottoms didn't look so blunt because I have very thick hair, she proceeded to argue with me instead and got very defensive. Instead of working towards a solution and finishing what she started, she left me in the chair, wrote me a receipt and walked away without even looking or speaking to me. Horrible customer service on her part, although the receptionist was very nice. I wouldn't recommend this salon for the younger, fashion-forward clientele. Unfortunately, I now have to drive to LA to fix my hair, the long drive I was trying to avoid by staying in Irvine. Pros: receptionist was very nice Cons: tacky leopard chairs, horrible communication skills more

I Love My Hair 4/15/2007

I just moved to the OC and needed to find a salon. My friends don't live here so they couldn't give me any advice, so I decided to look on the web. I was somewhat scared, but decided to go out of my box and somewhere knew. I'm so glad I did it. Cindy did a beautiful job with my cut and color. Sometimes you gotta take a chance and go with someone new. Thank god I listened for once. My hair is thick and if it's not cut right, I'm so miserable, not anymore thanks to Cindy. Don't be afraid, she's marvelous. more
