This is my second time within a year that I have used Maxwell Realty and Nancy Alperin as my agent. I found Ms. Alperin to be first rate on both occasions. She was knowledgeable, forthright and patient. I was always under the impression that she was providing me the best service and not just focusing on obtaining her fee.\r \r She returned my calls promptly and answered my questions thoroughly. She kept me abreast of the details of all my real estate affairs.\r \r I am contemplating two additional real estate transactions. I will retain Ms. Alperin to handle these matters as well. more

I was looking for a commercial space and Nancy Alperin helped me find what I was looking for, where I was looking for it, and was very approachable, friendly and professional. Thanks again to Nancy and Maxwell Realty. You are truly the best more

The owner of Maxwell Realty, Nancy Alperin, was the most helpful person we could have turned to for trying to buy a house in Blue Bell. Not only did she help us find the perfect home for us, but she was fast, professional, very knowledgeable and helped us get financing at the best possible rate. I would recommend Nancy to anyone that is looking for an expert real estate professional that will work hard at getting you exactly what you are looking for! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/27/2012

Nancy Alperin is one of the worst real estate agents I have worked with. After over 20 years buying and selling properties, I have never before worked with somebody who was so self-centered and disinterested in completing a transaction as Nancy. She also surrounds herself with associates who actually go out of their way to make things harder to bring a property to closing. If you are looking for somebody with the ability to bring up an MLS report or post a property on TrendMLS for you, then go for it. Don't expect any other service from her or her firm - you will be very disappointed. more

I have rented in the Fairmount neighborhood for 10 plus years. Nancy Alperin and Maxwell Realty are far and away the very worst landlords I've ever encountered. During our 2 years with Maxwell, we had months without a working stove and refrigerator, unaddressed leaks, no water due to lack of payment (landlord is responsible for water payments) and that's just a sampling of the issues Maxwell fails to address. Strongly suggest avoiding this Company at all costs. more

SOLD!!!! 4/2/2012

We recently used Maxwell to help us sell our home. Prior to working with Maxwell our house sat on the market for 5 months. We had multiple real estate agents come through our home, but it wasn't until Maxwell took the reigns that something actually happened! When Maxwell came on board we had 5 qualified buyers come through the house, and within a week the house was sold -- higher than our asking!!! It kills me that we wasted 5 months without Nancy's team. So thrilled!!! more

First Time Homeowners! 3/30/2012

Buying our first home was a very big deal for us. Considering today's economic climate, and my husband's mounting debt from medical school it did not seem like a good time for us to buy a new place. We were interested in finding a home relatively close to Temple Hospital because my husband is still in his residency. We were looking to rent because buying is a huge commitment. Nancy helped us grasp the actual return on the purchase. It turns out that buying this home will be one of the more financially sound investments we've made in the past few years. We've been here for a little over half a year. I'm thrilled and so relieved to have a place to call home-- forever! more

Happy homeowners. 2/24/2012

Maxwell realtors approached our sale wholistically. They took in to account our aesthetic, priorities and most importantly our financial means. Interestingly these guys approached our purchase more like financial advisors, than most realtors . We got the upside AND the downside analysis for potential return on investment in multiple scenarios involved with our deal. It's so important considering this is and will be the biggest investment of our lives. We ended up closing on a beautiful home within days. I couldn't be more happy. more

Best Realtors in Philadelphia 2/24/2012

My husband and I just moved to Philadelphia from New York. We were overwhelmed with the new housing market. We first met with a few competitors whose names I will not repeat and they seemed to give us small homes at New York's high prices. A colleague at work referred me to Maxwell Realty, Nancy specifically. He suggested we consider looking for rentals and homes for sale. Nancy was insightful and honest. She provided us with a price quoted in today's market but what we were getting was the underlying worth of the building. She laid out the historical and comps from memory, described the scenarios on achieving our financial goals for the biggest investment of our lives. Super impressive. Nancy also recommended we get pre-approved for our mortgage as well. With all the facts clearly laid out on the table we proceeded with a purchase. A few days later we had the title. We've been in our beautiful home in Rittenhouse Square for nearly a year now. I couldn't be happier. more

The Worst! 2/4/2012

Do not rent with this company! Maxwell Realty is the worst rental agency I have ever used in my many years of renting. We moved out after 2 years of renting because the owner of the house wanted to move back in. We left by midnight, and at 7am the next day the owner was inside the house ripping up the floors and completely remodeling everything. Maxwell didn't even bother to check out the property beforehand for any damages. We left it in great condition, but seeing as it was our word against the owner (who conveniently was a lawyer) we got screwed out of our $2,000 deposit. We had to pay to remodel the owner’s house! We complained to Maxwell in a very formal and civil manner. They said it was out of their hands and we would have to take it up with owner but to "be careful, because he's a lawyer." What an unprofessional way to handle any issue. Maxwell wiped their hands of this situation and refused to help or hear us through. We lost a lot of money due to Christine’s and the rest of the office's negligence and terrible business practices. Run! It is not worth dealing with the hassle that will come a long with your renting, no matter how nice the home. more

Terribly Irresponsible 8/22/2011

We received a notification on our door that if our water bill was not paid our water would be shut off. Maxwell was responsible for paying that bill, not the tenants. We notified Maxwell via phone, voice mail, and email numerous times over the course of a month and a half and they assured us that 'your water won't get shut off.' Low and behold it shut off and now there are 5 people living in a house with no water despite over a month of advance notice. These people are irresponsible liars, do not trust them to rent from. more

Wonderful Experience 2/25/2009

I just recently had the most wonderful experience with Maxwell Realty, I have been looking all over for a place close to work (Jefferson Hospital). I had seen their signs on a building across the street and gave Maxwell a call one day. I met with Nancy Alperin, she assisted me in finding the perfect condo that I can not wait to move into. I would refer any of my family, friends or colleagues to Nancy Alperin and Maxwell Realty. Pros: Nancy took the time to explain all the things that I did not understand, she made purchasing my first home a great experience! more
