Editorial review from Citysearch 1/19/2014

I have been going to Mableton Lawnmower for 25 years I have always had excellent service there they always take my mower out of the car repair it and I pick it up and it runs great if these people complaining would read the signs and the ticket they sign there is a fee for checking out their mowers if they repair the mower at Mableton Lawnmower it comes off the charge of the bill . I even take my mower to have it winterized to Mableton Lawnmower. They are always courteous to me and if customers want respect they have to give it. more

Stay Far Far Away!! 9/1/2011

My story is much the same as the others here. Business, if you can call it that is run very very sloppily. Took my mower in on a Saturday just before closing, they said they couldn't get to it til Wednesday. Ok, sounds reasonable. I pay the required $40 diagnostic fee. Then I get a call Monday before noon to call them. I call the guy who anwered said they wouldn't get to my mower til Wed. I told him someone there had called me, so he yell to somebody and comes back and says it's going to be $125. Way more thn I expected, includes something I didn't ask for, like blade sharpening, rope tightning, etc. \r \r I told the guy, I just wanted you to make it run, I can't authorize any repair, I'll call back and let him know. So , I decide against repairs and go to pick it up the next evening, they closed early, no one there. I go back the next night to find that they have done the repairs anyway and I owe them $85 to go with my $40 diagnostic fee!! I say no way.\r \r The owner then comes over and says I'll have to come back, because the guy who I talked to is out. I get very unhappy, for all the trips i'm having to make, plus unauthorized repairs that I now have to pay for just to get my lawnmower back.\r \r Rude, shady, downright crooked, in my opinion. Stay away unless you just feel like getting ripped off. more

RIP-OFFS DON'T GO THERE 6/7/2011

June 7,2011 took my lawnmower there because it keep cutting off the charge was 40 dollars to look at it after they called me and told me it would be 150 dollars to repair I told them I did not want them to fix it when I went to pick it up they wouldn't tell me what the probelm was with the lawnmower because they said I would take somewhere else to be fixed which is my progative they were rude and disrepectful and since I refused to do business them they pulled my draw string out of my mower so I have to take it to another shop just to get that fixed I am going to try to get my bank to reverse the payment I gave them they are total jerks who do they think just gives 40 dollars away more

Bad service from this business 9/25/2009

I took my lawn mower to Mableton Lawn Mower & Go-Cart Shop be repair in June after I tuned up my lawn mower myself. I needed to get my carburetor cleaned and tuned-up.\r \r To make a long story short. I took my lawn mower back there in today (September 25th) because it has not being getting the power it needed as before. I understand clearly on their receipt that they have a 30 day warranty on tune-up work. I spoke with one of the small engine mechanics who was not in uniform and had a bad attitude from the beginning when I explain what my problem was. \r \r I stated to him that I wanted him to look at my mower because he did the repair on the mower and was told the same mechanic had to look at it. I wanted him to tell me if it was the carburetor or was it another problem. Basically to give me a ""check and advise"". He automatically went to the 30 day warranty and told me he was not going to do the work for free and that I should have brought it back when I first notice the problem. I them told him that the lawn mower was only used twice. He told me that was not his fault and they have a 30 day warranty. He was very defensive about the quality of work performed on my lawn mower. Because of the exchange I had with this young man, I spoke to the OWNER of the business who was outside and explain the rude behavior of his employee. \r \r I tried to explain my situation to the OWNER about his employee and I simply wanted the mechanic to advise me of the repair I needed to my mower. He (the owner)looked at the receipt and automatically stated it was outside the 30 days and ""WHY DIDN'T I BRING IT BACK WHEN I NOTICE THE PROBELM (in a rude tone)?"" I told him,"" that I am not a lawn mower guy and I didn't think the lawn mower was powering properly, so I'm bring it back now to see that the problem is"". I told him that I did not like his tone and it was no need to raise his voice when I haven't raised mine. I told him that I see where his employees get their customer service skills from because he was way out of line. I simply wanted a check and advise and to make sure the carburetor was not the issue since they did this repair on my mower. \r \r Lastly, to end my story or complaint. The OWNER said that I'm not going to let him look at it or repair it since you think I had an attitude. I was shocked, but I took my mower and put it back it my truck. Mableton Lawnmower & Go-Cart Shop is not the only repair shop in or around Atlanta. This guy (owner) thought he was doing me a favor or he is the best in town....please!\r \r I took my lawn mower to another small engine shop and guess what.....the mechanic stated that the carburetor was not repair properly the first time.!!!!!! \r \r This business is very junkie and not very professional. The young lady working the service counter was the ONLY nice employee there! The owner and the mechanics are rude and the quality of their is POOR!\r \r I would look around before I take any small engine equipment to this business. They do not stand behind the quality of their work and they are defensive about you questioning their work. Cons: Junkie business & bad service more

Rude, disrespectful and a scam artist... 8/18/2009

I was referred by Cub Cadet to an authorized service dealer for repairs to my riding mower. I thought it would be better for Mableton to keep the repairs local, and give the business to the mom/pop shop.\r Upon my initial visit, the owner was rude, bordering insulting. Repeatedly telling me that my riding mower (even though it competes head to head with John Deer) was nothing but a cheap MTD mower with a better name brand.\r I guess because of the hassle of trailering it to the shop, I decided to leave it for repairs, despite the attitude. \r Four days later he called with an estimate of $380 to replace a belt. I asked a couple questions about the repair, where he once again took every opportunity to belittle the equipment. He then asked me very aggressively if I wanted him to fix it. I responded telling him that I needed to look into warranty... then he cut me off yelling profanities. Again he aggressively wanted to know what the F.. hell I was doing with repairs. I asked when he would be able to begin work if I left it with him. He told me that he could probably get to it tomorrow. We hung up, I immediately called the authorized service dealer where I was quoted $85-$100. I called back Mableton Lawnmower and told him that I would be there to pick it up ASAP. He again began yelling profanities and said that he just started the repairs and it was too late. He told me to come pick-up my piece of shi. and that I had to pay in cash for what he had done. Obviously concerned that I might cancel a credit card transaction. \r As I pulled into his broken down establishment, he looked over at me and then disappeared, like a dirty insect when the lights are turned on. I asked his daughter (who told me that her dad was an a..hole) if I could speak with him. He would talk to me over the phone, but not in person. Once again, he began yelling profanities and insults. I must say that I expected as much. Big man over the phone, a wee-child in person. Pros: Absolutely zero! Cons: Rude, disrespectful and a scam artist... more

Wow, rude is correct! Embarassment to Mableton!? 4/4/2009

Trust the other online reviews. These people are rude and apparently uninterested in getting business. I just got off the phone with one of the rudest shop owners (or so he claimed he was) I've dealt with. I've never known a shop to be so dismissive and threatening to a potential customer. My crime was asking for an estimate. His very first response was rude and dismissive - it wasn't even a slow build up, just straight out of the box rude As a former auto shop employee, I can tell you that estimates can be hard to gauge sometimes. Part prices vary from make to make, etc. But any reputable shop knows some rough costs on things like, in this case, sharpening a blade - and from my experience with other lawnmower shops, this isn't a hard estimate to provide if you know what you're doing. At the very least, an intelligent employee will ask some questions and try to win your business. Instead, this guy told me that he ""had 100 people in the shop and didn't have time to baby me"" and threatened to take me to court ""for harassment"" when I called back and asked to speak to the owner/manager (which he then claimed to be). Not only did they lose a potential customer before I even walked in the door, but they just ensured that a local, who lives very near them and whose spouse works in the community and communicates with the locals/neighbors daily, will be telling everyone they know the story of the incredibly rude Mableton Lawnmower shop that cried harassment when asked for an estimate. It's a funny story, but it won't help their business one lick. But don't just take it from me - read the other reviews as well. They're treating people like this before and after they walk in the door. Go anywhere else. Cons: Rude before you even walk in the door more
