Editorial review from Citysearch 2/25/2013

Gosh if its ranked top 10 I'm afraid of what other hospitals look like. Worst experience ever. Whoever is in charge of emergency should be ashame. A lot of yelling from people who work here. I waited forever here. They didn't seem sanitary. Very unprofessional. more

They Are Just Fine 6/25/2011

If you move the whole hospital to Upper West Side bellow 96th Street, it would be nice and clean. Walls and personal are not the one who make this hospital a horrible place, the patients are. more

Good hospital in not so good looking, busy surounding. 5/5/2011

This is great hospital. Although the building is pretty nice, it felt more like busy bus or metro station (it has busiest ER on the east coast). I had very good experience with every staff member I talked to (except for hospital security police officer who was a little bit rude). Except for the ER everything else in the hospital appears like any other hospital (clean, nice, tidy and organized). I was very pleasantly surprised with good and high-standard care it provides to it's poor, mostly uninsured patients (hopefully example for the future). In the New York State Department of Health evaluations it ranked in top 10 of more than 60 New York City hospitals. Just the hospital without neighborhood 5 stars! hospitals.nyhealth.gov/measure.php?measure_id=5001 hospitals.nyhealth.gov/measure.php?measure_id=5000 hospitals.nyhealth.gov/measure.php?measure_id=5002 hospitals.nyhealth.gov/measure.php?measure_id=5003 more

EMERGENCY ROOM 5/14/2010

I WENT TO LINCOLN HOSP. ON 5/12/10 TO CHECK ON MY MOM THAT WAS ADMITTED THAT EVENING. I WAS ACTUALLY SCARED TO SIT IN THE E.R. THE PLACE WAS FILTHY. TRASH COVERED THE FLOOR AND IT JUST LOOKS REALLY DINGY. I WAS SO UPSET THAT MY MOM EVEN CHOSE THAT PLACE TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. WHEN I FINALLY WENT TO VISIT HER IN THE E.R. THE SMELL WAS UNBEARABLE. LINCOLN HOSPITAL MAY HAVE GOOD QUALITIES FOR SOMETHINGS, WHICH I'M NOT POSITIVE ABOUT BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT'S THE WORST AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED. Pros: TRSUMS CENTER Cons: NOT CLEAN more

THE NURSES ARE CARELESS! 8/11/2009

Well when my little sister fell and busted her forehead open she was bleeding a whole lot . ( She was only 2 years old!) When we rushed her to the emergency room. The nurse told us to wait untill she is called. and the emergency room was crowed! It was a long wait and my sister was looseing a whole BUNCH of bl00D from her forehead. I couldnt help it so I went up to the nurse and said "" Listen this is an emergency cant you see that my sister is looseing a lot of bl00d??!! She needs stitches Now. So they finnally let her in. I cant believe that I had to speak up so that they can give her medical attention. My sister ended up getting 8 stiches and after that she was fine. Pros: Doctors are sort of good Cons: the long wait and the crappy nurses more

the worst but not bad with kids 8/6/2009

listen i live in the bronx in fact i live across the street from lincoln from personal and from other peoples experience, it is the worst hospital its like they send all the reject doctors but i am not gonna lie when it comes down to kids there not so bad, i wouldnt ever give birth there but for an emergency i would bring my daughter there i guess there scared of messing up on kids and just dont care about adults. my friend went there cuz she got cut on her finger and needed stitches, the doctors actually stitched 2 of her fingers together and she had to go to another hospital to fix everything. BRONX LEBINON also a terrible hospital the nurses there will stab you literally like 10 times just to try to get your blod. if you ever have to stay there over night dont will never give food, my friend has had surgery there, lets just say shes trying to take them to court for messing up on so bad. Pros: only good with kids Cons: everything else more

The worst hospital ever 8/1/2009

If you want to understand what we should expect with a new Mr. President's Health System, u need to visit this hospital. The Lincoln Hospital promises and Claims that they provide an equal health care, no matter what kind of insurance you have, if you have any. Guess what? It's true! You'll get care like you are a homeless looking for a place to stay! Like other reviews say - the staff is absolutely incompetent, uneducated and rude!!! If God Fobbid, your loved one is addmitted into this facility, be ready to take a vacation and take care of your family member. But guess who gets a paycheck? Nurses!!! Who will be charging you insurance up to the roof????? Hospital !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: NO Cons: EVERYTHING more

I WAS BORN IN THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!!ROOM 102 3/2/2009

For some reason i was born in this hospital because i have never lived in Bronx, New York. My mom told me that she was going to suicide because of the deadly pain on her stomach when I was in there. The staff are pretty rude and careless. When my mom was naming me Edgar Diaz the nurse wrote Edgardo Diaz . ""do"" like come on. I hate that name. It's like a retared person's name. I don't know if the nurse was death, mentally retarded or just wants to do on purpose. Now I'm stuck with this stupid name Edgardo (which I want to stab it a million of times) until I'm eighteen (four more years from now).I'm going to change it to Edgar, the regular way.I will always heart Lincoln Hospital even though I never been in there, only when I was just born. Now I live in Jamesburg,New Jersey. It's really small and quiet. Why am I typing where I live, I should be typing about Lincoln Hospital. As I was typing, if u were born in Lincoln Hospital you should love it even tough it has bad service. So don't be a hater be a lover. I can't believe i just typed this whole thing. Man, I'm was really bored. I don't even like typing. Sorry to the people that just read this becuase this wasn't really good. I just have to admit. Oh well. Well thanks to the people who read this crap.Bye Pros: can't think of one Cons: everything more

WAY BETTER THAN EXPECTED 1/25/2009

I read and heard what others had to say about Lincoln Hospital before I went, and I have to admit I was a bit nervous. But my daughter was taken there by ambulance, so there was so choice. I was SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! From the moment i got there, every staff member that I encountered from the person at the front desk to the custodian to the nurses and doctors were so nice and helpful. I was in emergency services for 10 hours while my daughter was treated, so I saw how the other patients were being treated there as well, and each time I witnessed nothing but respect and concern by the staff. The doctors gave me frequent updates on my daughter's progress, and the nurses checked on her regularly. I was at Bellevue hospital for two weeks a year ago, and while the doctors there were phenomenal, the nurses were HORRIBLY rude and abusive! I was so happy that my daughter was well taken care of yesterday that I had to spread the word. Pros: Caring and informative staff more

I HATE this hospital...BEWARE!! 4/13/2008

I lived in the Bronx all my life and I would have to agreed that Lincoln is possibly the worst hospital ever. I don't know if the staff isn't properly trained or if The Bronx receives the leftovers, but my experience at this hospital was not the greatest. My first encounter was me visiting an ill family member. The entrance reeked with urine and there were homeless people loitering in the waiting area. The receptionist was very rude and would not assist me. I had to call family members to find out further infomation. Later on, I found out that they misdiagnosis him to have HIV. Apparently, after receiving a second opinion, this was proven to be a mistake. Some records were switched accidentally at the hospital. They showed no sympathy and told him that these sorts of things happen due to human error. This was unacceptable. Anytime, I get a chance to tell anyone about the lack of professionalism and service, I tell them not go near that death trap. If you need to visit any hospitals in the Bronx try Jacobi on Pelham parkway or Montifiore near Mosholou Pros: Only go there if you need a bandage, if not try the corner store. you're probably safer. Cons: long wait time, incompetent staff members, and wrong diagnosis from doctors more

DON""T USE THIS HOSPITAL - DANGER OF DEATH!!! 9/6/2007

This hospital has got to be the worst hospital in the whole country. First, you come in and the triage nurses are locked behind bullet proof glass that you can't see through. Everyone is extremely rude for people in the health profession. I have friends living in the South Bronx and the first one had a broken ankle - they misdiagnosed it as a ""bad sprain"" - he found out a week later when he had a REAL doctor read his X-Ray. The second is when my other friend cut her finger really bad. She went there since she was bleeding everywhere and couldn't make it stop. She showed up and the nurse behind the bullet proof glass just said why don't you see if you can find a seat if you are lucky. Oh, and the big one, the first friend didn't get help until they saw he had Oxford insurance (one of the best to have in NY) and all of sudden he was put ahead of other people including a small boy who had hurt his ankle too and had been there since 9 AM waiting for an X-Ray. Here is the deal, if you live in the Bronx, go to that hospital on Gun Hill Rd called Montefiore. Word is that they got the best triage emergency room. Good luck if you have an emergency in the Bronx! Pros: There are no pros Cons: Terrible long wait and misdiagnosis - danger of death - extremely rude more
