This hospital has got to be the worst hospital in the whole country. First, you come in and the triage nurses are locked behind bullet proof glass that you can't see through. Everyone is extremely rude for people in the health profession. I have friends living in the South Bronx and the first one had a broken ankle - they misdiagnosed it as a ""bad sprain"" - he found out a week later when he had a REAL doctor read his X-Ray. The second is when my other friend cut her finger really bad. She went there since she was bleeding everywhere and couldn't make it stop. She showed up and the nurse behind the bullet proof glass just said why don't you see if you can find a seat if you are lucky. Oh, and the big one, the first friend didn't get help until they saw he had Oxford insurance (one of the best to have in NY) and all of sudden he was put ahead of other people including a small boy who had hurt his ankle too and had been there since 9 AM waiting for an X-Ray. Here is the deal, if you live in the Bronx, go to that hospital on Gun Hill Rd called Montefiore. Word is that they got the best triage emergency room. Good luck if you have an emergency in the Bronx! Pros: There are no pros Cons: Terrible long wait and misdiagnosis - danger of death - extremely rude
