Lightning Van Lines - Higly recommended 12/26/2008

I used Lightning Van Lines when I recently moved out of my apartment. They were excellent. They were very professional during the actual move. The movers were very friendly and handled my stuff with care...nothing broke!!! Top to bottom this was a good experience. more

THE BEST MOVING EXPERIENCE 12/26/2008

I have moved quite a few times in the past few years and I have to say, I have never experienced such professionalism during a move. I have already recommended Lightning Van Lines to many of my friends. In the future, when I move, Lightning Van lines will always be my only choice! Lightning van Lines - Appropriate Name 12/20/2008

I called a few moving companies including Lightning Van Lines for a last minute move (within Castro Valley) about a week ago. They were the only company who gave me a fair price so I decided to go with them. The guys that came to my house was really professional and sensitive. Because it was a last minute move I did not have the time to organize everything so they helped me pack and they were FAST.. Great Move 12/18/2008

I liked these guys because they were incredibly fast and efficient, they came on time, and they came in well below the estimate. Everything was handeled with care and attention to both my and the buildings requirements. The whole process is stressful enough, and the guys who helped me totally took away all of that stress. Wrost Moving company. Please don't move 11/29/2008

I had the worst moving experience by hiring Lightning Van Lines, Inc. Please stay away from this company. They delivered my stuff late and on top of that they lost my two boxes including my dvd player, I have filed report against them on better business bueru also. Good luck on moving and please stay away from them. !!!!! more

Good Deal 11/3/2008

Though I didn't research personally any other moving companies and just called Mark based on the Yelp reviews it sounds like in comparison to other companies, Lightning Van Lines really have their act together.\r Its not that the day of the move was ""the best day of my life"" but it was with minimum headache.\r The pick up from my house was fast and the delivery was reasonable with a slight delay....\r I think I got a great deal working with this company. Easy to work with 11/3/2008

It's been a couple of years since I used these guys but I've moved twice with them over the past 4 yrs and both times was really happy with the result. Used 4 guys, b/c I had so much stuff, but it went quickly + smoothly. The guys had a good attitude and no breakage. Would highly recommend them and will use them again for sure!\r Both moves were tricky b/c we were moving big stuff through tight hallways/doorways but the guys made it happen!\r I would recommend to any body who is looking to pick a company that will make your life easy and will not break your pocket more

Possible WORST moving company in the Country 10/21/2008

Just moved from NY to CA....decided to use Lighningn Van Lines (BAD BAD CHOICE)\r Anyone using this company better insure themself.....\r Since my employer paid for the move I opted for the full service incl packing.\r 1) Movers took 4 days more than told\r 2) Was told full service incl ""unpacking""....LIE\r 3) Movers did NOT use wardrobe boxes & rather than just packing the clothes together, found more convenient to pack $1000 suits with my pots & pans.. (hope a trip to the dry cleaners will solve the matter)\r 4) Broken glasses.\r 5) Broken picture frames.\r 6) Broken vacum cleaner\r 7) Worst of all OLD vase (from my Grandmothers estate) broken.\r None of the above will add much up using the 60 cents pr lbs insurance, but shows a moving company that rather than move peoples belongings, should be in the business of TRASH hauling.\r Thomas Pros: None that I can see Cons: Pretty much everything more

I used them to move from Sacramento to San Diego.\r the they delivered after 5 days and there was a minor damage to one cabinet that was a bit bulky...\r I had insurance and there was not problem to get the claim done.\r other than this the mover are professionals and the call center was responsive. more

I found these guys here and in some other consumer review site and both places they had a good rep.\r Other than the fact that the driver was a bit late with the delivery everything was good.\r \r Recommended more

Save time and sweat! 9/13/2008

I recently moved all of my belongings (about a 1-bedroom apartment) from Washington, DC to San Francisco, CA\r Anyone who hasn't lived in the same house their entire life knows that moving STINKS. Packing, sweating, hauling, sweating, unpacking, more sweating...oh, when will it end?\r Lightning van lines was able to accomplish in eight hours what surely would have taken me and my fiance four days to complete\r Pros: Saved a lot of time and stress Cons: The bill.... but it was worth it more

I just used these guys to move to my new place north of Sacramento,\r I moved a 2 BR house from Castro Valley and everything went smooth.\r At the beginning I was trying to do the move my self but after some thinking I figured that I will not save much money by renting a truck and wasting all these hours on the move... just comes out to be the same.\r So I hired these guys and move was fast and easy for me, everything happened in the same day and two days after my new house looked already like a ""living space"" rather then a storage.... :) I am happy with the results. more
