Liberto Cleaners

Don't bring your clothes here unless you want them ruined. My wife recently dropped off 4 brand new dresses at Liberto Cleaners. We paid $65 for the cleaning. When we took them out of the plastic, one of them had what appeared to be a coffee stain on the shoulder. The other had some unknown spots all over it that definitely weren't there before. This place is an absolute joke. Given their sky high prices and terrible service, it's amazing they are still in business. This place is a joke...stay away!!! more

I decided to try Liberto out when I needed a few dresses cleaned before I went out of town. When I got there, I made sure to show them the spots on two dresses. One was a coffee spot and the other was a grease spot, something that my normal cleaners have never had a problem with. After I pointed out the stains the guy at the desk put neon orange arrow stickers on my clothes pointing to the spots. When I got the dresses back I felt like they hadn't even been cleaned. None of the spots had been removed, and the clothes didn't even feel clean. Please keep in mind that these are just nice, high quality cotton dresses, not silk or some sort of fragile material. When I called to let them know, the manager was less than apologetic and went on to tell me that they only remove stains if their customers tell them to. I responded by saying that if I had pointed out the spots to them, wasn't it obvious that I wanted to get them removed? The manager told me no, and said that if I wanted the spots taken out I would have to come back again and tell them to get the spots out (um, wasn't that what I originally did when I brought you my clothes?). I think the worst part of this entire thing was that I would expect service like this from a hole in the wall dry cleaner, but this place charges a LOT! They're as much as One Cleaners in Metairie but One Cleaners actually REMOVES spots from clothes and does a fantastic job. Also, pick up and delivery is included in the fee AND the staff is ALWAYS really nice and helpful if I have a problem!!! Liberto is literally the worst Dry Cleaners I have ever used and I will NEVER go back there again. more

Brought 4 items to Liberto's knowing well in advance that they have a reputation of being the most expensive dry cleaner in the city. After paying $80 for the cleaning, I soon realized that 2 items - a men's suit and a women's dress were carelessly ruined. Of course, Liberto's did not bring this to my attention, I had to find out for myself. So with over $500 in ruined clothes, they kindly offered us a $90 credit for drycleaning. Why on earth would I come back to a drycleaner that overcharges for services and then ruins half our clothes? It's been 15 days since I brought back my damaged suit and I have yet to receive a single apology or even an update on the resolution process. Avoid this shop at all costs! I took my black wool peacoat to Liberto on Prytania. I understand that $20 may be standard when it comes to cleaning wool, but it looked as if it hadn't been touched. In my case, I understand 'cleaning' to mean 'removing all particles from the coat that are not black wool particles.' Had the lighting been a bit better, I would have left the coat there and requested that they try again. The best part was when the cashier gave me a suggestion as to how to remove the particles on the sleeve of the coat. I couldn't understand - if she was so knowledgeable as to how to get the job done - why they didn't take care of it themselves. more
