The doctor, assistant, optician, and front desk staff were all very welcoming, especially for so early in the morning. Additionally they were patient while figuring out my new perscription and while doing some of the tests that I struggle with having strabismus. The doctor also noted some issues with my eye that needed adressed and monitored and explained how switching lense type would help, encouraging me to stick through the adjustment period. The optician was very kind and did not push the issue when I explained I couldn't currently afford back up glasses. Overall a phenomenal staff and the best eye appointment I have had in a long time. more

Please be aware when using this office. The doctors are very nice but the office management is ineffective and not worried at all about customer service. I was told my child’s eyes were fine and less than 5 weeks later told by the school he needed glasses, so I got a second opinion. Sure enough he did need glasses. Because I had already used all of our vision insurance to pay for the first visit I had to pay out of pocket for the second visit over 200.00. I called Central Oregon Eye Care and asked them to waive the 15.00 co-pays for 3 of my family members; small amounts compared to what they charged and were paid considering I had to start over with my son’s eye care. To date, after ten months of phone calls I have heard nothing back and have been sent to collections for the 15.00 co-pays which they have now assessed a 50.00+ fee to each. The only reason I write this review is their unwillingness to even return my phone calls. more

The staff couldn't be any better in my estimation. The space is clean and appears organized. This is my second time at the Redmond facility. I began relationship with your company in Sisters. I have already referred to family. The patience that both Dr's provided to me help me to stay in contacts when I was ready to give up . Thank you so very much for hanging in there with me. I have been a patient for the past 3 years. Each appointment was concluded with the utmost satisfaction, both in the attention provided by an exceptional staff and the end product of contacts and glasses that fit my lifestyle at work and play. I would highly recommend to family and friends. I immediately knew I was in the capable hands of someone who knew the product, cared about helping me find just the right pair of frames and lenses to fit my age and lifestyle . He set the tone to make this experience fun and worry free. more

I really appreciated the thoroughness of my exam and the effort of Dr. Sheldon to hear what was bothering me about my current prescription and work to apply my new scrip to a different type of lenses. Holly was friendly and informative. I appreciated how she explained what she was doing and her willingness to look up info from my past visit. Scott was very helpful and understanding, especially when I called and asked about the products he was helping with in comparison to what Costco offers. I appreciated that he understood how my choice was affected by cost. more

My wife and I came in together and you took us both together at the same time. Never seen that before. Wow it was great!! We purchased contact lenses and enjoyed the visit. You were were all professional and very thorough. How about a glass of cold beer during the visit.....Just kidding :) Nothing to improve on really. Our visit was fun,and informative. The staff was proffessional,nice, and very thorough. Cant beat them!!! more

I just absolutely loved this optician's office! The staff and doctors were extremely knowledgable, kind, and helpful. I came in withy five young children and the staff were accommodating and patient. I felt that we (and our eyes!), were in very capable hands. Thank you! more

Shana was considerate, and explained procedures to me to help me understand what was going on, Dr Oswald was excellant in giving exams and explaining to me my eye disorders. They were considerate, and thourogh in explaining exams,results and options. I made the right choice in going to Central Oregon Eyecare. more

Although I didn't need to update my prescription this time, Mellisa was very accommodating. She adjusted my glasses, tightened the screws, cleaned my lenses, and even got me some new nosepads. All of this for no charge and a smile on her face. You've got a winner in Mellisa. more

Without a doubt, Scott is the reason I came back again this year. While everyone is wonderful, Scott goes so above and beyond for his customers. He's really nailed how to be the best salesman without us knowing he's doing it. My husband feels the same way and said he's buying sunglasses from Scott this year! Honestly the best experience ever. I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere. There's a great selection and even better staff! more

My first visit with Dr. Sheldon was entirely excellent, including with all his staff in Prineville, including the receptionist Christy and Holly, as well as with Scott. i am completely happy that i found Dr. Sheldon, and look forward to his being my optometrist on a permanent basis. i don't know if my visit with Central Oregon Eyecare has been 100% successful, as my new glasses will not be ready for about 2 weeks, but as of now, i am absolutely satisfied with the services i received during my very first visit. i will definitely recommend Dr. Sheldon to anybody who i may hear is looking for an eye doctor. more

Okay...Service needs Improvement. 4/27/2012

I have had the worst experience in dealing with Central Oregon Eye Care!!! My primary complaint would be no follow-up. \r I placed an order for glasses using my existing frames. I asked how long would it take and was told 8-10 business days! It took 18. Picked up glasses on Friday to discover Saturday, they were the wrong lenses. Returned them on Monday. They said they would rush the order so I could have them for vacation a week later. Vacation has come and gone and it has been nearly three weeks for a rush order. I phoned earlier this week and they said they would be here on Wednesday. It is Friday and I have heard nothing. I truly wish they would let me know the status.\r Subsequent to getting my glasses...they have been very helpful in correcting problems that I am experiencing. more

Lack of Billing and Insurance Knowledge 2/7/2012

I like to do business locally as much as possible. Even after reading poor reviews on Central Oregon Eye Care's lack of billing/insurance services - I gave them a shot at our family business. I should have paid attention to the reviews because we paid big time afterwards. Completely mislead on what the insurance company would pay, what services we qualified for, etc. They never acknowledged a problem - pushed the blame on our insurance company, didn't apologize, didn't try and work with us to keep our business. They are very expensive and if you need to rely on having insurance to off-set the high prices, you better look elsewhere. more
