Hourly Rate Outrageous! 10/28/2015

I called Larkin for a simple repair to replace a gasket between the toilet bowl and the flush box that was leaking, and replace a cartridge in a Moen bath tub faucet. The technician showed up on time and was pleasant to deal with as well as being professional. Than the ride started to a very costly conclusion. I was "sold up" to replace other parts there was nothing wrong with and were operating normally. When the ride was over about 90 minutes later, I was handed a bill for almost $450 where the hourly labor charge was $300 for less than 2 hours! My suggestion is to make sure you ask their service rates before they start as they will get you good. I would NEVER use them again. I'm in my 80's and I believe they took advantage of my trust. more

Water heater leaking 10/6/2015

Fr iday my water heater was leaking and I could not shut it off. Keith from Larkin Plumbing came out and shut the water off and drained the water heater, he then explained that the water heater base was ruined because of all the water sitting on top of the drywall. He suggested a company (Sundance Enterprises) to replace the drywall box because I did not know of anybody to repair that type of work. Albert, from Sundance Enterprises did an excellent job and was very conscious of my needs. Keith returned the next day and installed the new water heater and a pan underneath it. he gave me a quote which I thought was expensive but after seeing the brand new water heater and base and everything the price is quite reasonable. In fact the price I paid was $92 less than the quote! He also explained to me how to take care of the water heater and how to shut it off in case something like this happens again. I am very very pleased with Keith, Albert, and Larkin Plumbing. more

I had a toilet with a worn gasket between the toilet bowel and flush box that was leaking and needed to be replaced. I called Larkin and set up an appointment. The serviceman called me an hour later and told me what time her would be there. He showed up on time and was clean cut and pleasant. He replaced the gasket and suggested replacing the auto flow even though it was working fine. I gave him the OK. I also had him replace the on off cartridge in the Moan bathtub faucet. Than the shock came when he handed me the bill. I was charged $300 labor for less than 2 hours plus parts for a total o f $446.00. I'm still in shock over Larkin charges. If you use them, make sure you ask what their hourly rate is first because they get you good! more
