I WAS a patient at Lancaster Medical. I no longer am. I think the woman at the front desk is rude and they are quite money hungry. They do not care about your health, just your checkbook. They expect you to come in when it is not necessary and will not refill your prescriptions unless you make an appt. I questioned them when they insisted I come in for a ""follow up"", asking them ""A follow up on WHAT""? I was told ""to check your high blood pressure."" I told them I do not have high blood pressure (I have low blood pressure). This alone confirmed that they do not care about their patients. I had to make an appt. because I needed refills. They charged my insurance co. $400 for this ""follow up"". They charge you an extra $50 for an evening appt. and also charged me $50 for a missed appt.....which I refuse to pay, explaining to them that I only pay for services rendered. The place is a joke and the absolute worst professional office I've ever encountered. I would not recommend this place to anyone. more

Horrible! Charge you for appointments that you didnt even know you had...went to emergency room and they took the liberty of scheduling me a follow up appointment without telling me then tried charging me for a missed appointment...Office staff is not at all friendly. And never even seen the actual doctor in the 6 years ive been there...DO NOT recommend this place at all!!! more

I was very surprised when I received a certified letter stating I am no longer welcome at Lancaster Medical due to my serious medical condition and that I did not follow up with my doctor. First I didn't know I had a serious medical condition. Dr. Cleary has never seen me, not even once in the three years I have been going. I have always been taken care of by a Physician's Assistant. Which I had no problem with, they were always very pleasant and helpful. What I am confused about is if I do have this serious medical condition why didn't the doctor see me? OR why didn't someone let me know what this condition is....maybe it's because there is no condition. I am healthy ... wonder what would happen if I had been ill or did have something serious.\r \r RUN don't walk away from this practice. more

Really disappointed in the way Lancaster Medical has taken care of me while pregnant. My when OBGYN sent me to my primary to have my thyroid regulated, I was unable to visit with an actual doctor. They tried to schedule me for an appointment three months out... despite me telling them I was pregnant and needed my thyroid regulated immediately. I ended up meeting with a PA, who then forgot she was in fact the one regulating my throid before my next appointment and had the nurses follow up with me to find out. It's sad that I had to remind them that SHE was regulating it, had prescribed me medication and had blood work scheduled for me. \r \r My favorite part of this office? Calling the nurses back... You sit on hold for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes and sometimes the line hangs up on you. It's super, especially if you are trying to call during the day during some down time at work. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. more

Don't ever go to LANCASTER MEDICAL. They will force you to make appts you don't need and then they'll drop you when you don't go. Yes, they kick you out like they did me after being a patient there for several years. I got an antibiotic from Immediate Care on a Saturday when I was diagnosed with strep throat and couldn't go to my PCP cuz they were closed. And Lancaster Medical claimed my insurance makes me go for a follow up w my PCP within 7 days which is NOT true- they just made it up! And she said they'd reinstate me if I scheduled my appt. I told her I'd call back after speaking to my insurance since I never heard of anything like it and she said oh fine nevermind we'll just keep you released. FINE b*tches see ya! There's plenty more doctors that won't kick me out for not coming when I'm not sick hahahah what a joke. Let alone last year Victoria Boorman, PA kicked me out of my appt saying 'your 15 minutes is up, you'll have to schedule another appointment'. Doctors should not treat patients like that. I'm sorry I don't have the money to come see you every month when I DON'T NEED TO haha money hungry jerks!!!!!!!! more

After being with this practice for two years, I received a certified letter stating, ""we will no longer be able to provide you with medical care and will not see you at the practice because of a disruption in the doctor/patient relationship, effective immediately"". There was no reason as to why there was a ""disruption"", as I never missed an appointment, paid in cash for every visit and responded immediately to any call that was ever placed to me. Every follow up with the doctor was made as requested by him and medical teachings he gave me were also followed to a T. That only leaves one reason as to why I was dismissed from the practice, ""a delay in payment"" or ""not enough money"" from my insurance company. Only problem is, a ""real"" reason won't be given. I am disgusted with the ""professionalism"" of this practice and although I liked my doctor, I will have to ""dismiss"" him as he continues to remain at a practice that follows such poor ethics. My tip? Avoid this place if you want continued quality care and a trusting relationship with you doctor. You will be dropped without warning delivered in a cowardly way. more

I do not normally review/critique a business, but I felt if I could save at least one person from the terrible experiences I had at this medical office then it would be worth it. Like many have mentioned, the service is terrible: average of 20 minutes on hold trying to get a hold of anyone and they do not offer times to call outside of the work day or at lunch, making it difficult for any working person to communicate with them. I too have never met my doctor - Dr. Cleary - and do not know if it is a he or a she. On several occasions they refused to do an over the phone discussion/follow up, forcing me to leave work and pay a copay, and giving them the opportunity to bill my insurance company for something that could have been addressed over the phone. more

Kicked out of practice? Really? 3/31/2012

I never was impressed with the ""service"" of their office staff here. They are hard to get a hold of, not friendly on the phone, and if you don't call them back then they send letters to your home. Sure you can deal with them, but if you don't actually call them back after they send you that letter then you will be kicked out of the practice with no other warning, like I was. I am sorry for thinking that I actually had a choice in how to handle my own health. There are much better practices out there that will actually treat you, the patient, as a customer and if they need something from you they will explain what they need from you and the time frames involved. Stay away from this practice if you actually want a practice that cares about you. more

OFFICE MANAGER IS AWFUL NEEDS MENTAL HELP! 1/24/2012

I CALLED THIS OFFICE TO TO INQUIRE ABOUT BLOODWORK FOR MY SPOUSE WHO WAS A PATIENT AT THIS OFFICE WHICH WAS A HUGE MISTAKE! I NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH A RUDE,CLOSE MINDED,JUDGEMENTAL OFFICE MANAGER IN MY LIFE! SHE DID NOTHING BUT INSULT MY SPOUSE AND ME OVER THE TELEPHONE AND STATED SHE NO LONGER WANTED HIM AS A PATIENT BECAUSE HE MISSED A APPOINTMENT! IM SURPRISED THAT AFTER READING THE OTHER REVIEWS ON THIS PAGE SHE IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE TO INSULT FAMILIES AND TREAT THEM UNFAIRLY! IT IS SAD SHE STILL HAS A JOB IN THE HEATHCARE FIELD WITH HER ATTITUDE! WE ARE SO DONE WITH THAT TERRIBLE OFFICE SUCH A BITCH! more

Avoid this Practice!! 3/6/2011

I have been with this practice for almost 10 years and I am leaving it as of today! I was too tolerate for too many years and today after dealing with the WORST Office Manager I have ever encountered, I am done!! I called to tell them about a very bad situation that occurred to me last week due to their errors, by a nurse and by a physician assistant and when I was done with my story instead of apologizing, this horrific Office Manager ""Cindy"" became very defensive and started telling me the patient what I did wrong and making excuses for her staff!!! Are you kidding me!? I am done but not after years of being on hold for average of 15-20 minutes every time I call there, very bad and very, very young physician's assistants, never being able to see my doctor - Dr. Cleary. Ridiculous! I would not recommend this practice to anyone and suggest if you are in, get out before they do something wrong! more

Dr. Kuenhling is great. But the policies... 3/5/2011

Wow...Where to start. Well once upon a time, this was a great family practice. Dr. Kuenhling is the best. He is a genius and so kind, thorough, and helpful. It seems that some time ago there was a big rift in the practice. At that time they had a big turnover of staff and there was a lot of tension. They stopped accepting our insurance (because they didn't get enough money for it, since it was a government program). We were terminated as patients due to a ""disruption in the doctor - patient relationship."" According to the office staff, a patient will never be accepted back once they have been terminated. more

Excellent internist 11/23/2010

My husband and I both find Dr. Cleary to be very thorough, knowledgeable, responsive, informative and personable. Tests are ordered as needed and specialists are recommended when necessary. We need to be on time for appointments because the wait time to see the doctor is so minimal. Same day appts. with a PA are the norm for emergent problems. more

Office Manager is a Monster 8/6/2010

Two days ago, I tried to get my son, age 31, in to see Dr. Kuehnling at Lancaster Medical. Three of us already see him and we have balances due on our accounts. The office manager, Cindy, informed me that he couldn't see the doctor because other people in his family had outstanding balances. Confused by that logic, I asked her if she was the one who decided who the doctor saw and didn't see. She said yes and if I didn't like it, I should find another doctor. more

Never had to leave a Doctor's practice before 2/23/2010

The only times I've changed doctors was when I moved, got new insurance or a doctor retired. I've never had to leave a Doctor's practice before due to their business practices. One member of my extended family recommended Dr Cleary and nine more of us signed up with him. As of right now five of us have found other Doctors. Also, my cousin (as well as her best friend) were kicked out of the practice because they didn't make an appointment for a physical (!). My mother left because Dr Cleary never looked at her throughout most of her appointment; he faced his wireless computer most of the time. I left because I had to call eight times to try to have a missed appointment fee taken off my account, even though the appointment had been cancelled in accordance with their policy, yet either through negligence or arrogance, they kept the fee on my account. Eight times I had to explain that the appointment had been cancelled by me and my PA, and seven times another bill showed up. Good luck trying to get a hold of the billing representative and the office manager is just plain nasty. I was also barraged by daily phone calls for three weeks to make a followup appointment for a medical issue that had turned out to be completely minor. It is clear that there are serious issues in the office and over the past four years as a patient, I've only seen things getting worse. Pros: PA's are friendly and helpful Cons: Office manager, billing more

Lancaster Medical Office Manager needs to go !!!!!!!! 1/12/2010

I was a patient of Dr. Kuehnling for the past 5 years, with appointments scheduled basically every 3 months. Unfortunately I missed an appointment that was scheduled on a holiday observed by my employer and never received a call as a reminder from the office regarding the scheduled appointment. Once I returned to work and saw my calendar, I realized I had missed the appointment and immediately called the office to reschedule, while also identifying that I had missed the scheduled appointment. Pros: Dr. Kuehnling was great and very personable Cons: Office Manager (Cinde Gross) lacks people skills !!!!!!!!!!! more

Office Manager needs Anger Management courses 4/2/2009

My husband was a patient with Dr Kevin Cleary and has been since we moved back to Buffalo in June 2008. My husband has been in and out of the hospital for a few medical issues at this time. We missed 2 appointments and had a $50.00 charge for both. At that time, I was pregnant, an appointment he missed was because he was in the hospital and we just never thought to cancel the appointment thinking the Dr would know he was in hospital and not need to be treated. Pros: Doctors were nice Cons: Office manager does not have people skills more

Two Doctors and several Nurses LEFT practice recently 1/11/2009

I would stay away from Lancaster Medical! I was there in Jan. 09 and heard a doctor yell at nurses, waited for 1 hour and met with a overwhelmed new doctor who didn't even have my test results becuase the nurses hadn't completed it - and remember I was waiting an hour. It was dirty, disorgainzed and basically a wreck! I am searching for a new doctor today. Cons: dirty, disorgainzed, high turn over rate of nurses, staff and doctors. more
