I searched high and low for a service company to repair my LCD. The only place in the area that had experts on staff who imnmediately diagnosed the problem and fixed my television...

Worst

It is sad to realize that people like me are the reason this place is still in busines... Out of 5 TVs we sent them 3 came back still dead and one is supoosedly beyond repair. Eve...

Horrible. Unreliable. Expensive. 2/6/2012

It is sad to realize that people like me are the reason this place is still in busines... Out of 5 TVs we sent them 3 came back still dead and one is supoosedly beyond repair. Everyone of the repairs they have done for us were over $280.00, and that is with the 10% volume discount.\r I have tried to talk to them - useless. People in charge are rude. Their explanation was: the ereplacement boards ($250.00 each) are often dead on arrival. Does that mean they don't test the TV before returning it as ""fixed""? \r Stay away! more

Customer Service 12/13/2011

I'm taking the time to relay this information to future and past customers of Lake Electronics. If you EVER experience a "" sub-par"" visit or phone call to Lake I would like to hear from you. We have been in business for nearly 60 years. During that time we have satisfied tens of thousands of customers. On occasion a repair will be delayed for one reason or another, sometimes it is out of our control. If you are not satisfied and we can control the delay/issue we will be sure to do so.\r \r We look forward to serving you in 2012 and beyond.\r Regards, Don\r \r more

STAY AWAY 9/28/2011

I called Sony about my Sony 52"" LCD Thats under warranty they directed me to Lake Electronics. What a nightmare the sony rep. said they are the only ones in the area and they are good This guy must be Drunk or he must Drink alot because they are the worst service company I have eVer dealt with in my life.Sony needs to authorize some other service centers if they think Lake electronics is the best. They have had my TV for 2 months and its still not fixed now they say they cant find it.Ever time I call now they hang up on me.\r STAY AWAY more

Yes, you ARE making a Mistake! 9/5/2011

I read all the reviews about bad service but said to my self ""most were all years old"" and ""maybe it was just people who have an ax to grind"". Well, those people are right. Lake had my fancy TV for a few days, no call. So I called 4 days later and asked the status. They said the techician would be looking at it soon. OK, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called back three days later and was told ""we are behind, sorry. He will look at it today, and I will give you a call tomorrow with the status"". No call. Now we are up to a eight days. Called back four days later (two days were a weekend) and told. ""Sorry, we are runnng 12 days behind"". Then way didn't you say that when you took my TV? DO NOT USE THEM. They ask for a credit card even before they touch your TV. Did I mention I got quoted two different prices over the phone?Something about my zip code. RUN AWAY! They will NEVER see me again. Anyone BUT Lake should be your starting point. more

Best repair for TV in the region by Experts 7/26/2009

I searched high and low for a service company to repair my LCD. The only place in the area that had experts on staff who imnmediately diagnosed the problem and fixed my television in a timely and cost effective manner was Lake Electronics. I found the staff to be extremely courteous and helpful - calling me with updates and information to keep me abreast of the problem and time it would take to repair it. I felt - based on the repairs my television needed - that the week to ten day repair they quoted was more than fair. And, I received my tv back within that time frame. You can say what you want, but there are no better experts in the area than the technicians at Lake Electronics. In fact, my sister-in-law brings her electonic equipment from Massachusetts to Lake Electronics. I believe anyone who complains is not aware of how involved these repairs can be, especially when parts from manufacturers are often hard to obtain. This was fully explained to me. I highly recommend Lake Electronics. Pros: Sony 46"" LCD repair - best I could find more

Last trip to the Lake! 12/28/2008

I'm writing only to emphasize how bad the customer service at Lake Electronics is. I've been without my TV so long im starting to feel like I lost a family member. I called three times already and Im still not convinced they've even looked at it yet. They have had the set for 5 weeks already and they havent even called me once. When I called them they acted like i was inconvieniencing them to even ask "" I was wondering if you could tell me what you found wrong with the TV"". I wouldnt care if it took some time , even this long , but at least call me one time and acknowledge that you realize I'm without my $2300 TV . I had this same TV repaired before at Lake and it took three weeks which wasnt so bad I now realize. But I did have a good enough experience the first time to go back. SO I really dont know what to think. I feel like the TV is in good hands when it comes to qualified technicians are working on it, however the lack of common courtesy combined with how long it is taking is making me feel like this is the last time they will be taking my hard earned money. Pros: Experienced technicians Cons: No Communication more

Not a place I'll return to 11/11/2008

I had a very similar experience to one posted earlier. I took an LCD TV in for repair that was only one and 1/2 years old. I heard nothing for two weeks and when I called I was told they were very busy and backlogged. When I didn't hear for another week I called again and was told they couldn't get parts and there was nothing they could do.\r I went to pick up my TV and found that there was a piece missing, they finally found the piece but didn't put it back on because they lost the screws and the TV was no good anyway!? I left the TV in my house for a couple weeks and finally decided to investigate myself and got it working again! So after a month and $100.00 for 'diagnostics' I got absolutely nothing in return from them. \r The main reason I went to them was because they are locally operated and I like to support local businesses, unfortunately it was a terrible experience and I'll never go back. No customer service skills at all. Pros: Can't think of any. Cons: Non-existant customer service. more

Terrible customer service! Not friendly or timely! 3/25/2008

Lake Electronics has been in business for how long? I can't understand how! In my personal experience they offered nothing but terrible customer service and very poor communication regarding any potential repairs. I called to check in on the status of the repair (14 days after I dropped of a 1.5 year old TV) and was told it was in the process and would be another 10 - 14 business days before I heard anything - mainly if it is worth repairing - PLUS an average of 10 days for a general repair that doesn't include the ordering of parts, that would take additional time. \r \r The wait time wouldn't bother me so much if the customer service agents were at least pleasant and cordial. Not even close - rude and short with me - the customer - the one who pays their bills! No thanks, I'll passs on this one. Pros: Location Cons: Strong thumbs down! more

Techs are incompetent and customer service is poor! 8/3/2007

I brought a Panasonic VHS/DVR recorder to Lake to repair under warranty. I carefully explained how the unit was malfunctioning. Three weeks later they called and left a message saying there was no problem with the unit and that I should come and pick it up. Repeated calls to them went unanswered. My opinion: their techs are incompetent and their customer service is very poor. Pros: They are an ""authorized"" repair center... believe it or not! Cons: They can't even find the problem, let alone repair it, and their customer service is poor. more

POOR SERVICE 7/13/2007

no phone calls or communication rec'd from the company when repairing my TV. I had to call them several times for any infromation and they could not tell me anything because the ""tech was not in now"". Poor, poor service would not recommend more
