Becca in mentor did my hair. She is very nice person but really is a sloppy hairdresser, none of my hair is cut well. I have never just gave up and left a hair cut before! more

I have tried MANY times to like Ladies and Gentelmen and I mean REALLLY tried! I have used at least 4 stylist and each time I am dissapointed. more

While washing my hair I rec'd a mini facial, scalp & arm massage. Can you say heaven! Could have fallen asleep if it were not for the consant chit chat from the sylist. I could hardly hear the soothing music played overhead. My stylist seemed knowledgable and I believe gave me the right advice as we talked. As for the cut. I am not disappointed but the back is not quite the way I would have liked it. I have booked with her again and will see how it goes before I make any decisions. I recently lost my stylist to relocation and was paying $35 (including tip) so the $40 (no tipping) which include the extras and more spa like surroundings was worth it. THIS SALON WAS REFERED BY MY SISTER-IN-LAW FROM MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE. MY SISTER AND I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT THE SALON. THE FRONT DESK NEEDS TO HAVE MORE ATTENTION PAID TO IT. THEY DID NOT KNOW WE HAD COME IN. OUR STYLIST HAD GREAT PLANS FOR OUR CUTS, BUT IT CAME OUT A LITTLE SHORTER THEN PLANNED. THEY SPEND A LOT OF TIME WITH EACH APPOINTMENT. Every time that I have gone to Ladies and Gentlemen in Mentor I've had a bad experience. The receptionist are not friendly nor are they helpful if you have a question. I have had different services and each of them have turned out to be a nightmare. I tried several stylists and levels of experience and they are all bad. Haircuts and color is extremely expensive. Now I go to Best Cuts because I get better cuts from them! This is supposed to be a spa like experience and it was far from it! If I could give this establishment zero stars I would have! more

I have been going to Ladies and Gentlemen for years and couldn't be happier. I've used almost every service they offer and I haven't had one bad experience. They are very helpful and always get my hair exactly how I want it. All I have to do is show them a picture from a magazine and I get the style I want every time. I've read some other reviews and they were so negative and I couldn't believe it! I felt the need to express my completely satisfied opinion. I've never been hassled to buy products and I love the fact that there's no tipping. I never need to carry cash and wonder who gets what percentage. I recommend them to everyone I know. We used to love Ladies & Gentlemen but it has definitely changed for the worse. We took our 4 year old to get her hair cut in their kids salon. She ended up looking like Carol Brady in the 60's. It was terrible!! They told us the cut was free after we complained. Gee thanks! I went in for highlights about a month later. It was the worst color treatment I have ever had. I didn't realize how bad it was until I looked in the mirror in my car. When I went in and showed the receptionist what the underside of my hair looked like near my ears, she gasped! No one apologized. They offered to have the girl ""fix it"". Um, no thanks! I paid $170 for that. Stay away from Ladies and Gentlemen. Friendly stylist, was a senior stylist. However employees and customers concerned me as most were sporting bad hair cuts/color, I should have left then. Suprise! My haircut is bad; it is going in the hall of fame of bad hair. My hair is clearly uneven and does not hold a style (I am so bummed). Lots of hoopla and attempts to push Aveda products (which I do not care for). In the end the cost was $150 for a terrible haircut and lame blowout I was shocked at how much I was charged. The salon has a ""no tipping"" policy, BEWARE, they slam you at the check out. Not worth the money please spare yourself the disappointment. I never knew what to do with my hair. I had a bunch of bad haircuts that made my frizz, waves, and curles just look like a disaster. A friend recommended Ladies and Gentlemen to do my hair for my prom. The result was the hair I always dreamed of. They didn't dye or perm it, just styled it the way it would compliment me and showed me just how to do it myself at home. Now I'm in my twenties and always happy with my hair. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone even just needing a good trim. The atmosphere and extras (especially the hand and arm massage while your hair is being washed) make the whole experience blissful! (I also recommend the Aveda products they sell there. The Confixer makes it easy to keep my hair nice when I never spend much time getting ready in the morning!) this aveda salon is the best in the city and it is by far the nicest salon (legacy village) in northeast ohio. if you are looking for an extreme makeover, then you are going to the right place by going to ladies and gentlemen. the stylists at L&G are among the best in the industry. the experience is NOT to be frowned upon! not only do you receive a fabulous new look you also receive pampering beyond belief. a scalp message, hand & arm message, make up touch up - all included!! did i mention they don't accept tips!! maybe the previous reviewer needs to let the professional do what they need to do and NOT try to pretend they know what's best for them. trust the experts at ladies & gentlemen, not only do they have 30 years experience, but they also educate other sylists throughout the country. I was recommended to this salon because of its location (legacy village) and because of the repuation of the of the same salon in Mentor. The receptionists were inattentive and did not seem knowledgeable about the products. The haircut was the worst part of the experience. After I asked to keep the length and for no layers, the stylist cut off 4 inches and layers about 1 1/2 inces shorter than that. When I expressed my disappointement she told me to remember 'it was just hair.' I had asked for a senior stylist to cut my risk of an inexperienced stylist but her 30yrs of experience was not enough. Not what I paid for and I hope to spare some others the disappointment. more
