Learn to treat tenants fairly and stop charging fees and withholding security deposits for items that you shouldn't have. Maybe if did this is stop ripping people off then maybe you might have good reviews from someone, but you don't and won't with the treatment you give people more

I rented from Labri management for 21 years. We generally had good management until Flor and Mike were our managers. It all started when I asked for a new stove and oven numerous occasions. I had also asked them to fix my closet because it had a bad mold issue, I also gave them a list of things to repair, mind you I've lived in the same apartment for 21 years. Never changed the carpet nor painted the living room ever. Asked numerous times for them to fix a leak that was in my kitchen that leak so bad I would have to keep a bucket underneath it. Raw sewage. I had spoke to other tenant as well this was an on going problem throughout the complex. So I decided to call Mr. Strickland to let him know that his management team would also walk around intoxicated in public. Which didn't bother him because nothing I brought to his attention was valid right. At that point the manager at my complex ask me about my visitors who enter my place and asked me if they live with me. I told her no. I didn't realize that we had to let them know who visits. No security doors either. Mind you this whole time either neighbors have at least 10 family members in a 2 bedroom next to me but never complained to management. At that point I was wondering why she asked me those questions. That 's when I recieved a notice saying that I had too many poeple living ing my place. I thought 3 people is too many when neighbor across the way has ten and below me had ten as well. At that point I realized that she was legally trying to remove me. Which was fine but when the managers husband directly says to my face its all about the money. It effects their bonus if they repair things in our apartment. But this is the kind of management that Labri hires with criminal records so they enter apartments without consent. The funniest thing is that when we left they had to repair all these items anyway. I heard that for the 1st year it was vacant and the last 2 tenants vacated within six months. Karma. They should of kept us there and fixed the damn place and listen to the complaints I had and just addressed them. Wise business move Mr. Strickland. Shortly after we left I heard management was fired. more

Property Stollen Whittier Villas 2/2/2012

I rented an apartment at Whittier villas. We were in the middle of moving on 1/10/12 & the manager waited until we left to take a load to our new place and entered my apartment without my permission and took my property then changed the locks and left the premises. The lock out was not until 1/22/2012. She had no right to be in my apartment or take my things. On top of that she lied and told us that the construction crew had taken my things. It has taken a week to locate them and the whole crew says that this is not true. They saw her take my things and one of my dollies were on her porch hidden behind the wall. I have called and complained. This is theft straight up. i want my things back and it looks like I am going to have to sue to make that happen. Maybe management will stand behind their claims and do something about this? Wish me luck more

I know I am a sucker because me and my mom have lived here for almost 10 years. When my mom lived here, they kinda treated her ok she finished her lease and asked for her deposit. One of the sups, a man named Jim, is a complete fake christian. He pretended to be so nice and concerned to my mom, yet became a jerk when she tried to get her money back. I moved in and took over the apartment. Things are crappy as hell now, yet the rent is cheap. Once, for a whole week, the showers didnt work. I have asked for the longest time to have my carpet changed, but no response. We always have trouble with the plumbing here. If you are reading this. stay away from these peoples apartments!!! They are slumlords! more

Total ripped off when you moved out and bad experienced with the apartment . The manager was nice but nothing gets fixed though. I don't think I would recommend any of my friends or families to rent from them. more

The reasont why I am writing this is to inform anyone who is cincidering labri's management apartments...They are some cheater and they will cheat you out of all of your money..for example: Me and my boyfriends decided to rent from them because we had just had a baby girl in october of 2009 and we needed a place to stay so we moved in nov of 2009...it is now nov.2010 and our lease is up dec.1..we did not recieve any notice that we had to put our 30 day notice in..and from my understanding we have to be out by dec.1 so we have found another place and labri is telling us tht we cannot move with out puttin our 30day notice in or they will put it on our credit...please do not get ur self in the same situation.... more

My wife and I lived at the Cornerstone Apartments for 3 years. We began a lease in October 2006 and vacated in October 2009. This was three, complete, 12 month lease terms. We lived there because we work in Downey. We own a new home in Joshua Tree, CA, and a home in the Leisure World retirement community of Seal Beach. We are not rich, but we're certainly not poor. I'm telling you this because I want you to know that we are not just trying to get out of paying $1500.00 to L'Abri. We can easily afford the $1500.00. However, it's flat out, wrong that we have to! Cons: Take the money, and treat you like s**t more

Positive Experience 11/10/2009

I lived at the Exoctic Isle in Paramount. Great manager, they were always available when I needed them. I did have an issue with a noisy neighbor but managment was able to keep them quiet. Parking is tough sometimes but not bad enough to make a huge difference. The apatments were huge! Pros: Friendly Manager, Great Location, Quick Maintenance Cons: Parking, Noisy Neighbors more

L'Abri Apartments...Horrible Managers 8/9/2009

I moved into this apartment and lived there for almost a year. During that year my manager acted like she was our friend but little did we know she was telling EVERYONE our personal business. Not only was she telling people about how our house looked inside but how no one should trust us, how we stole things from her apartment, how we made threats to slash other residents tires... etc... all which are not true. This lady, Raihana Arellano, was always at our house up in our business so that she could gossip it all away. While she was ""befriending"" me and my husband she was telling us stories about other residents as well. Tons and tons of personal information being thrown out to make it public knowledge.. The bottom line is if you are going to move in there you will have your business thrown around, she has nothing better to do all day, you will pay sooo much for a tiny apartment, you will have a huge ant problem that wont be fixed because the manager has the same problem, an air conditioner that wont work and will be fixed ""next week"" but a YEAR later ""next week"" still didnt come. be cautious!!!! All other apartments on the street are much better and cost way less!!! Pros: Small apartment community with wonderful neighbors Cons: Horrible slandering manager that will gossip your life away more

Say good-bye to your security deposit 7/9/2009

I left a security deposit for an apartment on Imerial Hwy in Downey, a week later, to my surprise, I got a pink-slip at work (I'm a teacher) and was not able to move in. I never signed a contract and didn't even have a move-in date. The land-lady said that I would get my security back but not the $25 for my credit-check. I said that was fine but guess what, I have been calling L'Abri in Downey and the man actually told me ""I don't believe she said that, you can't get your money back simply because you changed your mind."" Its a horrible, time consuming experience. Don't do it. Cons: will not return your security deposit more

L'abri apartments discriminates and lies 7/8/2009

The property management at downey will tell u what u want to hear to get u in the lease. One you are in and you notice that they didn't keep their promises they pretend like they never said anything and that you are wrong. They cannot tolerate someone bringing up their errors to their face. All they care about is about the money. Don't trust these people with your money. They chew your words and make them lies! more

Worst Property Management & Managers Ever 5/1/2008

This is the worst property management company & they have the worst managers. The manager said that my rent would not increase the first year. That was a lie. I was renting @ a place called Georgia Peach Apartments in Anaheim, CA. The manager, (Margaret Evans) continually said that she was speaking with her boss to get me released from the lease. That was a lie also, she never did. I was only offered the option of a MTM and my rent would be $1,560, & they knew that I would not be able to afford that. My current rent during 2007 was $1,320. My car was also taken because the manager did not make repairs to the security gate & I had to purchase another car. During the summer of 2007 as they happened, I informed the manager that I buried 2 family members, I would be behind in rent because of that & desperately needed a surgery procedure in December & I would be disabled for 1 month. Continually, I asked to be released from my lease and was refused. Eventually I was put in eviction during my disability. I came up with the money before the eviction for rent including the balance for the prior month which was only $250.00 and she, (Margaret Evans) would not take it and said that l?abri was filing the papers. Before the eviction, Margaret got angry @ me because I refused to keep tabs on her boyfriend after she asked me to. I told her that?s not my job and her boyfriend was not my concern. I told her that their relationship was not my business. During my rrecovery I was unable to look for another place. During the proceedings, their lawyer requested that my record be sealed and it never was. L?abri billed me through the end of my lease @ as of April of 30, ?08. They rented the apartment on 3-1-08 to another tenant and they are still trying to collect money from me for last 3 mos of my lease.This is illegal. more

L' Abri management are slumlords! 3/19/2008

About two years ago I lived in one of their properties in Costa Mesa (Monte Sereno to be exact) and I can say it was the worst experience ever!!!!!! The apartment was infected with black disgusting little insects! It was horrible! The second day after we moved in the toilet backed up and there was feces everywhere in the bathroom! I had to clean this mess! This happened more that just one time! My sister and I always kept everything clean and made sure there was not any food left out but still that did not help the insect situation! We ended complaining to the manager and finally they bugged the place. That still did not help. We ended up having to report this to the health agency( I believe it was that dept). They bugged the place again and that still left black insects( for some reason it wont let me type the right word which u already know what it is). So we definitely had to move out! So in order to ensure we got our full deposit back we asked the manager for the specific color to repaint the walls. She gave us the exact color and we painted and the color was just off the one on the wall. That just showed that the paint on the walls was old. We also had a friend clean our carpet who is a professional carpet cleaner. He left cleaner from when we moved in! While he was cleaning the manager ended up having the police give him a ticket for having a hose going to the drain even though it was clean water. Well they always know how to make sure you don't get your whole deposit back! They ended up only giving us partial deposit because they had to repaint! I can honestly say I hate these people!!!! So if you are considering moving in there DON'T! You will save yourself a headache! more

L'abri property management IS EXTREMELY BAD!!! 2/17/2008

I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with L'abri property management. They are a bunch a vampires thirsty for your hard earned dollars. I lived in one of their complex for two years and at the end, they ended up keeping my security deposites for a very STUPID reason. Here is what happened, I gave them my thirty days notice that I'll be moving out at the end of my lease and their ding dong property manager told me repeatedly that everything was ok and I shall get my security deposite back within 3 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks, I got a check around $ 30.00 because they ended up charging me through the end of the month (about 13 days). My lease has expired almost a month before the day that I moved out but for whatever reason they had and may be printed in font size 2 in the contract, they held me liable for the remaining days of the month. Their ding dong property manager was clueless about this and when I talked to the BIG VAMPIRE (her supervisor), he blamed her for this and vice verse (she blamed him for this). I just wanted to share this with the rest of the people who consider renting condos managed by L'abri property management, BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL AS THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!! more

Cure or Quits??? 8/9/2007

Tenants at Casa Flores Apts.,in the City of Orange ,request a meeting with the owner of the property, a nice gentleman I met maybe five years back.There are many new and old tenants here who need answers.There were some recent events here where the manager first said she didn't want to be involved,then without asking us what really happened,since she was not ever here, she wrongly passed judgement. We are all left to wonder how this can happen.The end result has left us ""willing to speak up"" we'd appreciate the opportunity. more
