I left a security deposit for an apartment on Imerial Hwy in Downey, a week later, to my surprise, I got a pink-slip at work (I'm a teacher) and was not able to move in. I never signed a contract and didn't even have a move-in date. The land-lady said that I would get my security back but not the $25 for my credit-check. I said that was fine but guess what, I have been calling L'Abri in Downey and the man actually told me ""I don't believe she said that, you can't get your money back simply because you changed your mind."" Its a horrible, time consuming experience. Don't do it.
Cons: will not return your security deposit
