I would highly recomend La-Or Permanent Makeup. I had my eyebrows done 7 years ago and still is getting compliments how natural they look. Additionally, the service that La-Or provides is very professional all done in a warm and friendly environment. I didn't feel like she was rushing to get it done rather she took her time and explained every step that she was taken to give me what I asked for. 3 thumbs up. more

The service is great, staff is nice, what's with Yelp? 7/21/2011

I am a regular customer of LA-OR's. Why? Because this place is very well ran and its faithful staff of lady professionals are awesome. It also is a place where a man can feel totally comfortable preening himself. I read a review on her service that was on Yelp, which I found to be quite offensive to me as a longstanding customer of the fine establishment. It is obvious to me and will be obvious to the thousands of customers that LA-OR Skin Care & Nails have served, that Yelp statement is baseless and without merit. No one has ever suffered at LA-OR's, sat for an hour drying, nor has any service provided there been sub-par. more

The Best! 7/19/2011

I have seen some derogatory information on the internet about a shop in Crystal City owned by La-Or. I would like to go on record to report that I went to some woman in Mclean, Virginia and she charged me twice as much for her work and this woman in Mclean, VA, gave me and eyebrow tattoo which didn't last more than 6months so I had seek out another permanent Eye Make-Up person to fix my eyebrows and eyeliner so found a shop in Crystal City. Not only did the shop (called La-Or) charge half the price that woman in Mclean charged me; but La-Ordid such a marvelous job on my eyebrows that many of my friends admire the work when I tell them about my having white eyebrows and that I got my eyebrows and that I got my eyebrows tattooed on. The work that I had done in the Crystal City Shop looked so real and the color of my eyebrows match my hair completely to where my friends were amazed and found it hard to believe that my eyebrows were tattooed on. I give credit to the lady who owns the La-Or shop in the Crystal City. She is or of the nicest person that I've ever met and she does excellent work which has lasted many years. more

I have had nothing but excellent service at La-Or. They give the best brazilians in the DC area and both my manicure and pedicure were top notch. The ladies that work there are professional and sweet, and I am always pleased with my experience there. I highly recommend La-Or to my friends and they always share my opinion. Enjoy! more

Excellent service 6/23/2011

I live in Alexandria, Virginia and I went to La'Or on May 20, 2011 for my monthly facial and to have nail tips put on. As always they provided excellent service and the work was excellent quality. Thank you to La""Or who did my facial and to Kay who did my Nails. I will be returning there regularly. more

The mani/pedis are cheap for the DC area. I think it's $45. I go here at least 1x a month. Great value for the cost. more

Quick and good at it 6/23/2011

I was a regular customer here through most of 2006. I went for regular eyebrow waxes and once in a while for mani/pedi. They're quick and they're good at it. La-Or - the thai woman who owns this nail salon - does permanent makeup and spa treatments. She has several skilled manicurists on staff and there are 4 manicure stations lined up on the right side of the wall and 2 pedicure spas to the left. They have a backroom and a room upstairs for spa treatments and waxing. I really only stopped going there because I'm not very good at making appointments for waxing so every time I showed up, I had a different person wax my brows. I like to have the same person do them because they know what I want each time. The prices here are great - I think La-Or mentioned to me once that her prices haven't increased since the 1980s. I would avoid here at lunch time because it gets packed with lunch crowds due to the location in the Underground. I think brow wax is $10 and mani/pedi is very reasonable - I will have to look at their pricing and update this post. I took advantage of their $75 special once and this is a must if you want to be pampered for almost 3 hours. For $75 you receive a European facial, Spa pedi, mani and eyebrow wax. I can't think of a better deal in the DC area. I left there feeling 100% revived, refreshed, rejuvenated. more

Highly recommend La-Or 5/18/2011

La-Or was wonderful with me. She is patient and explains what she is doing, which I found calming. I love the results of my new lip liner and eye liner! It looks very natural and La-Or insisted on seeing me several weeks later to touch up. There is swelling so it can take time to see results. I highly recommend La-Or. more

Clean, reasonable, and a pleasant environment 5/16/2011

I live in Washington, D. C. and I go to a Salon in Crystal City, Viriginia where they do excellent work. I have had manicures and pedicures done at the La Or Salon and I am very happy with the work that this Salon does to where it is worth my driving out of D.C. to get such dedicated and thorough work done as that which I get at the La Or Salon in Crystal City, Virginia. The Staff at that Salon are courteous and do such good work that I plan to have all my future pedicures and nail work done at that Salon. I have had Miss La Or, Owner of the Salon, tatoo my eyebrows, and she did such an excellent job that my friends find it hard to believe that my eyebrows are tatooed on and that they are not real. I highly recommend that you go to the La Or Salon in Crystal City Virginia as that is the place to go to if you want good work and excellent service. I might add that the La Or Salon is also a clean, reasonable, and a pleasant environment and that you will never regret for having all of your work done at that Salon. more

Delighted 5/11/2011

Five years ago I had La-or do permanent eyeliner and eyebrow makeup. I was delighted with the way it looked! It has really made a difference - and looks very natural. La-or is patient and will consult with you to get the look you desire. I have recommended her to my friends and they are also just as thrilled with the results. I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for excellent service and treatments at a very good value. more

Every experience at this salon is a treat and I am always pleased with the results. La-or gives the best facial in town, and I would say that the results are better than treatments that are much more expensive at other salons. more

After she designed my brows and I agreed to move forward, she numbed the area and she stayed with me the whole time, chatting and laughing and sharing stories, I felt like I had made a friend. She explained everything to me that she would be doing and how to take care of it. Now, people compliment on how well my eyeliner and brows look since it just looks natural. Thanks! LA OR more

My permanent makeup artist was extremely patient with me, going through all the colors until I found one I liked and we worked on the shape of them for a good hour until I was happy. While at the salon, I observed that she was very polite to every customer and generous offering free coffee, cookies and other snacks for all her customers before, During and after the procedure. I went for a little touch up six weeks later. She is as pleasant and as polite as before , took care of it in 10 minutes at no charge. Quality of work and Customer satisfaction seems to be her priority. more

I did my research thoroughly because of fear of landing with some inexperienced person and having complications and dissatisfaction since there seems to be several Permanent Makeup Artists in the tri state region (MD, VA and DC) in addition to this being permanent, a lot of research and care and forethought should be given about who one can use. After my sister did a through research and had hers done at La OR Permanent Makeup salon, I was impressed with the work and the outcome and went to get mine done at La Or in Virginia even though I reside in Maryland. Beautiful professional assistance 2/9/2011

I highly recommend La Or Salon. The Salon is accessible with free parking. La Or and her staff are very well qualified and provide excellent service by anyone's standards! I am especially pleased with permanet eye make up! La Or has experience with permanent eye make up and has alot of expertise. This procedure was almost painless and she performed the work like an artist. I had a good recovery and my eyes are beautiful! what a difference! i wish i had done this sooner!! Although the cost was secondary to experience and skill, i felt that the price was very reasonable. more
