I am a regular customer of LA-OR's. Why? Because this place is very well ran and its faithful staff of lady professionals are awesome. It also is a place where a man can feel totally comfortable preening himself. I read a review on her service that was on Yelp, which I found to be quite offensive to me as a longstanding customer of the fine establishment. It is obvious to me and will be obvious to the thousands of customers that LA-OR Skin Care & Nails have served, that Yelp statement is baseless and without merit. No one has ever suffered at LA-OR's, sat for an hour drying, nor has any service provided there been sub-par. more

At Lo-or you can count on the staff to be professional.... 2/2/2011

LaOr is one of the few Beauty Salon for nails, pedicure, facials and/or permanent make-up that provide top notch customer services.? I have been a customer of LaOr for over seven years.? During this time period not once I have ever been disappointment in the service that I have gotten from the beauty technicians or LaOr herself.?? In these days and time, customer satisfication really doesn't mean a lot. But at at LaOr you can count on the staff to be professional and courteous.? If you are not please you are always offered an alternative. more

I finally found a shop 1/25/2011

I?ve been to numerous Permanent Eye Make-up artists but sometime ago I had a terrible experience with a shop in Vienna, Va, The lady who runs the Virnna, Va. shop was rude, short-tempered , and charged me a lot of money and did such a poor job on my eyebrows and eyeliners that I had to seek out another Permanent Eye Makeup Specialist. I finally found a shop in Crystal City, Virgina and the name of the shop was called La Or. Not only did I get an exceptional and realistic job done on my Permanent Eye Make-up but I was charged a more reasonable fee for the work that was done which is easier on my budget what with the hard-times? that we are having with our economy. The lady who owns the La Or shop in Crystal City, Va. was most kind and considerate and did such a marvelous job on my eyebrows and eye-liners that all of my friends are amazed at the art work that The La Or Shop did on my Eyebrows and Eyeliners. My fiends find it hard to believe that the art work done by the La Or Shop is not my own natural Eye-brows or Eye-liners. My friends admire the beautiful art work performed on me by The La Or Shop and find the work done to be so realistic, that they too plan to visit that shop to have their own Permanent Eye Make-up done at the La Or Permanent Make-up Shop inn Crystal City, Va. - Casteel, A. -. Prices are great 12/20/2010

I always wanted permanent make-up (my eyebrows) done, but I could never afford it, till I found La-Or. She did an absolutely fabulous job. I compliment her for her artistic work. more

Prices are great 12/13/2010

The prices here are great - I think La-Or mentioned to me once that her prices haven't increased since the 1980s. I would avoid here at lunch time because it gets packed with lunch crowds due to the location in the Underground. I think brow wax is $10 and mani/pedi is very reasonable - I will have to look at their pricing and update this post. more

Painless procedure 11/29/2010

The best part of the whole procedure was it was absolutely painless. I fell asleep while you were doing my brows. Compared to the pain and horrendous experience of the first eyebrow makeover your procedure was completely painless and I attained superior results in only 45 minutes. Your personal attention and care to perfecting your work has greatly restored my confidence and I am considering making the 2500 mile round trip for further collagen injections! more

Not only did you correct the length and fullness, but you matched the color of my brows with my hair. I consider the work you did on my brows a complete eyebrow makeover not a retouch! It has been 10 days now and I am so happy with them. I have received compliments daily from the people that had seen them previously. more

I am very Pleased 11/24/2010

I wanted to take the time to let you know how very pleased I am with the retouch you did on my eyebrows. Don't think I told you but I had an electrolysis do my eyebrows 4 years ago. They were never even and one was purple and the other brow was brown. Everyday for four years I have had to use eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps and different colors. I was changed $350.00 4 years ago by a so called ""professional"" that really botched the job. more

Gorgeous 11/24/2010

I have had the procedure done before but now wanted a darker, more dramatic look. Previously, I had my permanent eyeliner done by an eye doctor and then had a touch-up done by a cosmetologist who injected painkiller around my eyes before the tattooing. They used four shots above each eye and four below...and I can tell you that not only were these injections very painful, but they left my eyes black and blue for two weeks, and I have a good tolerance to pain. I couldn't go to work for two days, and had to wear tons of heavy makeup to cover the bruises. You tattooed both of my eyes, top and bottom, on a Wednesday night. I applied chilled ice-tea bags to my eyes all evening and the next morning before work. I used my usual eye makeup for work the next day and a few people said I looked like I ""had a hard night"". Thursday night I was on a plane to Arizona for my high school reunion. I rested my eyes a lot on Friday and used the cold ice-tea bags on my eyes again. On Saturday night I attended my class reunion with perfect eyes! Everyone said I looked as young as the day I graduated, and this was my 20th reunion. You should have seen all the guys who stood around talking to me. more

Everyone is impressed 11/17/2010

I highly recommend La-Or Skin Care & Nails for permanent makeup! A few years ago, I had permanent makeup applied on my eyebrows at another place in VA. The technician used a color that was too dark then toned it down with a red color. It looked fine until it faded and I was left with red color on my eyebrows. A couple of my friends commented about it, as well as my Mother and the saleswoman at the Lancome counter. I had to use an eyebrow pencil every day to cover the color.Then I discovered La-Or Skin Care & Nails. La-Or is the owner of the salon and she applies the permanent makeup herself. La-Or is an artist! She studied my eyebrow shape, thinning areas, color, and the shape of my face to create a beautiful natural look. I am very happy with her work. Friends are impressed as well. La-Or is highly experienced and the cost is also less than at other places. This is specialized work so it is important to choose the right person to perform it. La-Or is the expert at permanent makeup! more

I have seen some derogatory information on the internet about a shop in Crystal City owned by La-Or. I would like to go on record to report that I went to some woman in Vienna, Virginia and she charged me twice as much for her work and this woman in Vienna, VA, gave me and eyebrow tattoo which didn't last more than 6months so I had seek out another permanent Eye Make-Up person to fix my eyebrows and eyeliner so found a shop in Crystal City. Not only did the shop (called La-Or) charge half the price that woman in Vienna charged me; but La-Or did such a marvelous job on my eyebrows that many of my friends admire the work when I tell them about my having white eyebrows and that I got my eyebrows and that I got my eyebrows tattooed on. The work that I had done in the Crystal City Shop looked so real and the color of my eyebrows match my hair completely to where my friends were amazed and found it hard to believe that my eyebrows were tattooed on. I give credit to the lady who owns the La-Or shop in the Crystal City. She is or of the nicest person that I've ever met and she does excellent work which has lasted many years. more
