As soon as I walked into this shop my attitude changed. The lingerie, the colors, the ambiance all made me feel like I was shopping in Paris! It made me want to slow down and take everything in. The decor alone is worth experiencing! I was with my 16 year old daughter, who hates bra shopping and her size DD breasts. With the help of the owner and her knowledgeable staff, not only was she able to find a comfortable bra but also one that was lacey and made her ?feel pretty?. I usually hate lingerie stores(ie Victoria's Secret), but stopped by La Petite Coquette based on friends' recommendations. The saleswoman was extremely helpful, picking out several bras that she thought would fit me well. There was no hard pressure to buy; she even wrote down the names of some items that were out of stock that I want to buy later. Pros: Customer service, variety of bras Cons: A little pricey, but high quality undergarments always are! more

My husband sent me to find something hot, but what the hell do I know?! My friend, Joyce, suggested I try La Petite Coquette and in my desperation I went. When I came in, I was helped by a vibrant woman named Rebecca (look for the gorgeous, big curls) who turned out to be the owner and much more aware of seductive style than me. She got me into a fitting room and began tossing me an assortment of little somethings. By the end of it all, I was tuckered out but feeling sexier than ever. I learned how to use a garter belt properly and Rebecca encouraged me to wear a sheer nightie which my husband appreciated very much. Pros: Rebecca! Cons: None more

I walked into La Petite Coquette because I have serious confidence issues regarding my rather little breasts. I usually feel flat as a boy. The salesgirls at the store were bright and cheerful and were more than willing to show me EVERYTHING they had that would fit me. The bra selection was superb and I bought myself a nightie as well... (fishnets, too). Now I feel small, but fabulous! Pros: Sales staff is amazing, selection is great Cons: I can't buy everything in the store! more

La Petite Coquette is a great resource in New York City for bra fitting. I had no idea that I was wearing the wrong bra for years. La Petite Coquette helped me be fitted the right way and my whole life has changed as a result of this!!!! Every woman needs to be fitted by La Petite Coquette and be transformed into a new being in just minutes. I was wearing a 36B for years and I was told by the staff that I was a 34C. I could have been blown over with a feather. I am thrilled with the fitting and I never felt better in my life. La Petite Coquette is overall the best store to purchase all kinds of lingerie including: thongs, bras, teddies and nighties in New York City. I have lived in the neighborhood for 2 years now and just went into this shop today, mainly because I see the store as a lingerie store. I didn't want lingerie, but I was in the market for a new bra, or several. I was assisted by Barbara, who in about 5 minutes flat, showed me the most comfortable bras that looked great and felt great. Goodbye Macys, searching around for hours. Barbara was terrific and knew what I was looking for. So definitely take the time and go inside!! Great customer service and pretty things! more

Fabulous! After spending an hour at another lingerie shop in Soho searching for the perfect strapless bar for under my wedding dress, and feeling generally uncomfortable in each and every one that I tried on, I headed to La Petite Coquette for the first time just on the off-chance that they would have a more comfortable make. Barbara gave me the exact same make of bra that I tried on in the other store but once I had it on, she showed me how to wear a strapless bra properly.... Who would have thought that after 20 years of bra wearing, I didn't know the correct way to wear a strapless bar? Well, once she'd hoisted me into the bra and fitted me correctly, I can honestly say that it was the most remarkably comfortable strapless bar in the world. I will definitely head back to this store and hope that the day I return isn't Barbaras day off (although I'm sure everyone else has the same expertise) - I'm even sending my fiancee there to buy me something nice with no hints whatsoever, not only do they have all of my sizes in the profile they made for me on their computer but they didn't have anything in the store that I would be scared of wearing if he came home with it one night! Not being as svelte as desired and definitely of a certain age, was delighted to be treated with such personal attention. Martina, my sales person, certainly had her work cut out for her which she handled with total elan. Had a wonderful experience and maybe now with all that pretty lingerie..... more

there are a number of lingerie stores in Manhattan but few that offer the selection and service that La Petite Coquette does. i have been shopping there for years and have always enjoyed the personal attention i am given there. i actually walked in there once with a new girlfriend and the owner said hello and welcome back. my girlfriend was both startled and intrigued that they knew me there. more

Amazing experience. First of all, the lingerie is to die for. So cute! I have had the worst luck finding bras that fit. Needless to say Barbara was amazing. She showed me how I looked in my current bra vs. what I should look like when wearing the right size and shape bra. I look thinner and taller and people have noticed. Ladies, if you have not been in to see this wonderland you must go. It will be the best stop you ever make! Pros: Expertise in their client needs is amazing! Cons: NONE more

After reading so many great reviews of this place, I tried it out for myself last week and was extremely impressed. All the good things people say about it are true. Moreover, you really don't have to spend a fortune here. I told the assistant upfront that I was on a student budget, and, after fitting me for my size (like everyone else, apparently, I have been wearing the wrong size my whole life!) she helped me find some really pretty things that were no more expensive -- and MUCH better quality -- than Victoria's Secret. I normally find underwear shopping an embarassing ordeal, but I liked this place so much, I'm going back today! Pros: Beautiful stock, wide range of sizes, helpful staff more

I'm not big on the lingerie thing but all girls want quality girly undergarmets. I'm very thin with an A cup and wide hips. Most places assume that I want padded bras which is an immediate turn off for me. I'm a tomboy so I get taken back easily. A good bra that fits will make my lil knockers look great so I was surprised at the sales help - listened to what i wanted, what kind of fabrics were good for me (i hate itchy lacy stuff and tight g stings), and offered a variety of colors for a variety of prices. Also, they have great undershirts that I still have after 5 years - in great shape, still soft, no traditional washer wear & tear issues. The only negative is that you have to appear to be a serious shopper before they show you cheaper items. For example, the sales person showed me at least 6-8 bra/panty combos. Very expensive, but what the hell. Picked out two and then I asked for something "more casual" - and she gave me another bunch of sets on sale. I visited this afternoon after reading several of the reviews on citysearch. For the past, probably 8 years at least, I've been wearing a 34D. I happened upon a cheap Wacoal bra at TJMaxx that was 32DD, and tried it on, to feel much more comfortable and secure. After that, I thought maybe it was in my best interest to go to a lingerie store where they really cater to you and back their products. La Petite Coquette was just that place. Tanya helped me out right away by agreeing 32DD was probably more my size (what do you know-i've been wearing the wrong size for the majority of my post-puberty life), and handed me several styles to try on. I ended up buying two of the very first bra she handed me. The bras were $64 each, but I'll pay that much for the convenient, friendly service, and a quality bra that fits right. I don't expect these bras to fall apart or sag like my VS IPEX bras which I loved, but they soon after lost their elasticity and started tearing! Upon my second trip into La Petite Coquette, I was luck enough to meet the owner, Rebecca. I wasn't in the market for anything (my bras from last time have held up so well I don't need more yet) but I was just passing by and couldn't resist the beautiful stuff in the windows. Rebecca persuaded me to try on something so daring I never would have picked out for myself. Of course I fell in love with it, and I actually felt comfortable and even confident in it. Also Rebecca just came out with a book all about lingerie. I read it in two nights! and I want to buy this book for my mother and my sister. Besides all the information, the book was so inspiring it makes me want to wear lingerie everyday. You don't need a reason or a man to get yourself beautiful lingerie! I'm definitely a believer now. I believe this is a good place to find a bra that fits you, but I have never been treated so rudely in my life by a salesperson. I don't need a 24-year-old telling me I can't wear this or I have to wear that, especially if the "this" is a bra I actually own and am wearing and the "that" is something she wants to sell me for $76. A good salesperson should understand that a customer may actually know what she wants, even if it's "wrong." I may go back but I will look for someone else to help me. So I always dread going shopping for bras because I have the opposite problem from most of the woman on here: I wear a really small bra size (which I THOUGHT was 34A). Well, little did I know that I've been wearing the wrong size all my adult life! I'm really a 32B, which fits me perfectly!! Unfortunately, I don't know the saleslady's name that helped me, but she was AWESOME (was in late 20's and had had black curly hair).... I was always so depressed buying bras and lingerie since I always seemed to swim in them. After being helped here, I now own the 3 cutest bra and panty sets and they actually make me look like a woman! Plus, I got a babydoll that fits me like a glove. Unbelievable. Moral of the story: No matter if you're bigger or smaller, there is no one that can't be helped at La Petite Coquette!! This is now my one stop underwear shop!! I am not an easy size to fit, and I have been all over trying to get the correct support. At the Town Shop I was able to get only a bra, though their selection for my large size was extensive. They did not have the right person helping me. The next (and last) time I went, I left empty-handed. At La Petite Coquette - I was left alone in the stall for quite a while, and then no bra really fit perfectly. But, I gave it one more try and I went back to get it tailored. Good thing I did, because Barbara (the amazing seamstress) found a better bra for me and made it fit like a dream. The best bra experience I've had within NYC. I wrote a review of La Petite Coquette about a year ago, but I must share again how wonderful it is. I went to accomplish a few things and was pleasantly surprised that they've got it all, and more! I had to buy a present for a friend who's getting married, and they have everything from beautiful nightgowns and sexy slips, to garters. Of course I couldn't leave without something for myself. Not only do they have tons of bras in my "weird" size of 32E, they have great clothing. I guess they started carrying more outerwear like tops and sweaters, which is great because in a store this exclusive, you'll only find the most unique and stunning pieces. Time and time again, this store has pleased me with a unique, one of a kind selection, and great sales help. more

For the past couple of years when I have come into your store to shop I immediately look for Tanya. She is an incredible salesperson! As it is trying on lingerie is, well like bathing suit season, but she makes it easy and fun. When I tell her the look that I am going for, she gets it and brings me a variety of lingerie to try on. She is always honest, and tells me when something doesn't flatter me or when I look fabulous...Tanya is polite, down to earth, friendly and funny. I absolutely adore her! I have been a producer in the television and music industry for 19 years and I think that my job and being in retail is extremely similar... the only difference? I deal with celebrities and well I'm sure you know how that goes! more
