Fast, honest, reliable 9/17/2013

A few years back we used their service to install entirely new ductwork a heat pump and air-conditioning in a house that had no ductwork. They were more then half the cost of all the others who came to give me an estimate. They finished the job in under a week and were so neat you never knew they were here. Today, we needed them again. Our air conditioning unit stopped working. They were here and left in about an hour and a half. It quit working due to our failure to turn the air off when the temperature drops so low the other night. Despite the issue being our fault, there was no charge! Kevin, the owner, said he probably never told us to turn it off when it got that cold! You just don't's find service like this anymore! These guys are fast, reliable, affordable and very. very trustworthy! I will never use another heating and air conditioning company in our area! more

Clarification of Coupon Offer on Website 10/10/2012

Mike Kohl called me yesterday in regards to my review. The coupon that was offered was for a Forced Air furnance. I have a Gas-fired Water boiler. Mike insisted on refunding the $69.95 as per the coupon. He said he would be better informed on coupon offers on his web page and make sure they state exact specfics. I sensed the pride that he has in his company. That he holds Kohl Heating at a very high standard. He also stated that he will make sure his employees call customers to let them know that they are running late. Mike, apologize more the once on the miscommication. He felt compeled to do the right thing and went over and above what I felt was neccesary. He recognized the problem and corrected it. He could have just moved on and not address the issue. He handled it satisfactory and made it right. more

Very disappointed with coupon offer. 10/8/2012

Kohl Heating Services offered a coupon for Fall Service Special $69.95. We made an appointment for 11:30 am. 11:30 came and went we called at 12:50 one hour and twenty minutes later. Was told that he was on another call.They did not have the courteous or professionalism to call and let us know that they would not be on time. Ron arrived at 1:25 pm. While at our home he took a phone call went outside and came back 15 minutes later. He no sooner came back inside and his phone rang again. This conversation lasted several minutes. When we presented the Fall Service Special coupon Ron said it did not apply to this service call. We were not having any issues with our furnace, It was running AOK. We just wanted to have it checked per coupon. Ron charged us $137.00 service/labor and $130.50 for a Tune up Repair Kit. What really upsets me is these type of companies who put coupons out on their web sites and refuse to honor them. We were given a song and dance as to why their coupon was not valid more

Met Kevin a home show. He was very informed. He came to our home to view a potentially difficult installation. He then sent a quote and came back at our request to go over details. The installation of heating and air conditioning went as planned and we are pleased. more

Professional and Quality Service!!!!! 3/1/2012

I called and spoke to Kevin because my gas furnace stopped working. Kevin and Ron came out that afternoon as promised. They determined I needed a new gas furnace. Ron was kind enough to go back to the shop to get heaters for us to use so we would not be cold until the new furnace was installed. Ron and Shawn came out to install my gas furnace a few days later. They wanted to do it sooner, but, worked around my schedule. Shawn and Ron worked diligently until the job was finished. Shawn even cleaned up before he left. You could not tell he was even there. Shawn also took time to answer all my questions before he left. If I had to describe my experience I would say I was completely satisfied. Shawn and Ron were extremely professional!!! As long as I am in this area I would never use anyone else. They are honest, professional and provided quality service!!! Thank you Shawn, Ron and Kevin! more

Installed Heating and Air Conditioner 2/26/2012

I couldn't be happier with the overall experience that I had with Kevin Kohl and his team. I work from a home office which is located next to the furnace room so I had the opportunity to observe the installation from start to finish. I was very impressed with the attention to detail and the meticulous nature in which Kevin and team completed the install of my furnace and air conditioner. The furnace has done a great job in keeping all rooms in my home comfortable this winter and the utility savings have been significant. I interviewed several other major Heating & Air contractors in the Pittsburgh area. I am very glad I chose Kohl Heating Services! more

Quality Service 8/15/2010

Once again Kohl Contracting came through for us. We were in a bind when our AC gave out on us during the summer heat wave. Within a couple of days we had a new AC installed and cooling our house. I can't say enough about Kohl Contracting. This is the second time we have used their services and we will definitly use them again in the future. more

Gas Leak! 8/21/2009

We suddenly had a dangerous gas leak early one afternoon, Kohls was here within an hour or so of the gas company shutting us off. They worked until the problem was repaired, and waited with us until 10:00 p.m., when the gas company finally turned us on again. Not only were they here quickly, they did an outstanding job, and waited to make sure we were all right before they went home that night. I don't know how long Kohls has been in business, but about 27 years ago we had central air conditioning installed. It was Kohl Heating and Air Conditioning. I'm sure I don't need to add that they did a superb job, but I would like to comment on something important. To be in business this many years, Kohls must be doing something right. They have a reputation for doing great work, on time and for a fair price. As a consumer that is what I'm looking for. more

An honest family business. 8/11/2009

I hired Kohl Heating and Air to install a heat pump, furnace, new duct work and, tankless hot water heater. Kevin Kohl, the owner came to my house personally to give me a bid. He explained what I needed and what I didn't need. (that's right, he is so honest, he told me what I didn't need to spend money on.) His brother Ron and his son Mike came to do the work. They were puntual, polite, neat and considerate. Kevin visited periodically to check on the job. He even took the time to check on any rebates that I might be eligible for. He saved the barcodes from the items I had purchased, filled out the paper work, brought it to me to sign...I got back $400.00! We are very happy with everything. Don't trust your home to just anyone. Call on the Kohl family like I did. more

Great Personalized Service 8/10/2009

I used them when my dad passed away there were few companies who fix with an oil furnace. They were Very professional and clean and neat. We purchased a new furnace a few weeks later for my dad. Honest...Professional, reliable My furnace broke during the coldest day of the year and they lived at the other end of town and came out in no time to fix my old furnace. They were honest and didnt try to sell and didnt charge much. Months later I called then to purchase 2 Trane furnaces and a heat pump. more

Absolutely the best experience you could have with any service. 8/6/2009

We have been loyal customers of Kohl Heating & Air for 25 years. If I could give them a 10-star rating, I would. A neighbor initially recommended them to us and we have been using them ever since. They have installed a new AC system, hot water heater, and a new furnace. They also have done wiring in our house. Their service and quick response are outstanding. I have never had to call them back because they do the work correctly the first time. I have called them in the dead of winter and in the hottest part of summer and they have been here for me. Anything I have ever needed done, they have taken care of. My son just had to have a new furnace put in and it was an enormous project because it was a coal furnace that had to be converted to gas. Kohl Heating & Air did a fantastic job. Another great thing about them is that you never so much as have to use a broom when they are done. They clean up so well afterward. I would not hesitate to call them. In fact, I would never call anyone else. Ken & Sue Ranker more
