Rude Owner 6/24/2011

Hibachi is good, overpriced but to be expected with the show given by the cooks. The service was mediocre at best, and the sushi was disgusting! We ordered a simple roll as an appetizer. (We got it half way through our meal.) After two bites each, neither of us were WILLING to eat the rest. The roll tasted terrible both quality wise and flavor wise. The server actually laughed when we told him neither of us like it. The OWNER was unwilling to remove the item even though we had already spent $70 on other items. He was unnecessarily rude to me with no offer of another roll, dessert, or even an ""I'm sorry"". I would have been perfectly satisfied with the roll being removed from the tab. I have worked in restaurants for the better part of a decade, and there is absolutely no reason to be so kurt. Simple service elements are a big deal to me; I hope the $9.75 roll was worth the bad press and lost patronage from us!!! more

Terrible Experience! 8/28/2010

We went to Kobe for my husband's birthday. The food was fine (a bit overcooked) and the server was fairly entertaining. However, the manager and the owner were terrible! We had a certificate from a website that they advertise and they refused to honor it even though we spent extra money so we would qualify to use it. The owner told us he ""would not make any money"" on it. They are the ones who choose to advertise on the site and sell certificates. How is it my problem that you won't make money on it??? The owner was so rude and even yelled at my mother and myself! We will NEVER return! more

Ask for Chunky and Natti 5/4/2008

I went out with a group of friends who had already decided to come here. I'd never had Japanese before, so I was a little hesitant about trying it. No problem! If you eat steak or chicken and most common seafoods, this is a GREAT place to go. Our chef was a funny little guy who made us laugh alot and made sure we were entertained visually and I figured the food couldn't be good because he was trying to take our attention away from it. WRONG! He grilled the only chicken I've ever had that wasn't dry. And tender? Wow. I tried one friends steak and it, too, was very tender. Another friend let me try his lobster which I dipped in the chef's own ""homemade"" sauce. This stuff should be marketed. I asked how he made it and he said it was an American butter ""secret"" sauce. Four of us tried to find out his name and everytime we asked, he gave a different name. Once he said, ""Chunky"" and once ""Japanese Crazy"". Those were the only two I could remember. The rest of the time, I was too busy laughing at his ""Japanese Worm"" - which was a crawling shrimp - and enjoying one of the best meals I've ever had. I'll definitely go back either with these friends or some others. By the way, our service was very good. Our server kept our drinks full and kept checking with us to make sure everything was okay. Her name was Natti - the spelling may not be right, but that's how it sounded. Pros: Chef and server Cons: One table had too many people at it more

Best Sushi 4/13/2008

The atmosphere is unlike any other. Clean and uncluttered and family friendly. Just check it out! Bar is exceptional with Asian employees unlike kabuto and some others. Sushi presentation is on par with exquisite Las Vegas styled restaurants. They have all kind of sushi roll, their more than 15 special sushi roll to choose from. The sushi roll are very different than other sushi restaurants more teats and flavor to it, makes you want it to have more and more. Pros: very clean, good sushi, parking are large. Cons: the host make me feel like im being rush, and i can't understand a word she said. more

Fair food, high prices, lousy service 1/31/2008

We made reservations for my birthday party a week in advance for six people. We all arrived 15 minutes early and were seated promptly at 6:30; that's as good as it got. Our group, along with another couple sat at our table watching as other tables were seated at the same time as us, and others after us, and yet all had cooks arrive at their tables within minutes of their seating. Our table sat waiting, and waiting and waiting for 1 HOUR and 15 Minutes before the cook arrived. No fault of the cook himself, it was the MANAGER booking more customers than they could handle. After the second time of having a ""polite"" conversation with the MANAGER, the cook finally arrived. \r \r Don't waste your money on the KOBE beef, it has no more taste or flavor than an ordinary cut of beef. They have also reduced the vegetables with your meal, and substituted noodles for the former glazed carrots. Basically, for $28.00 you get a plate full of fried rice, noodles and small portions of a select meat.\r \r Further to our dismay, when we were leaving, another group was standing outside, discussing their POOR SERVICE. They apparently had suffered from the same wait and same poor service as we.\r \r There are MANY OTHER JAPANESE STEAKHOUSES in the Charlotte Metro Area. Pick another one! more
